Observations On The Democratic National Convention

A few remarks from a very casual observer

Impressions. I’ll be the first to say I did not watch much of the Democratic National Convention last week. I actually have a job (s) to do and a family to support. I did get a chuckle that two Obama voters held up a Harris County TX delegate to the convention at gunpoint. Hey pal, welcome to the party. Or should I say, welcome to your party. But I digress.

One thing I really don’t care for is to be lectured by a multi-millionaire on the evils of wealth from a rich hypocrite who’s never actually done anyting like Mrs. Barrack Obama. I really learned to loathe when she said in 2008, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback,” I’ve been proud of my country for most of my adult life (being sucked by your husband did depress me, but not make me unproud). But let’s go on, from Michelle Obama’s screech:

“You see, my mom, in her steady, quiet way, lived out that striving sense of hope every single day of her life. She believed that all children, all — all people have value. That anyone can succeed if given the opportunity. She and my father did not aspire to be wealthy. In fact, they were suspicious of folks who took more than they needed…”

This from a woman who is worth (with her husband) seventy (some estimates up to one-hundred thirty) million dollars, have three mansions, both of whom have never held a real job, published ghost-written books, and runs the speech circuit for money. I’m not sure which is more galling, her or him:

“We’re not, we’re not trying to push financial reform because we begrudge success that’s fairly earned. I mean, I do think at a certain point you’ve made enough money. But, you know, part of the American way is, you know, you can just keep on making it if you’re providing a good product or providing good service. We don’t want people to stop, ah, fulfilling the core responsibilities of the financial system to help grow our economy.

Barrack, the purpose of a business is to provide profit for the owners, be they Mr. and Mrs. Smith of Smith Dry Cleaning, or the stockholders of Shell Oil. Not to fund brides by paying you six figures for a 20-minute speech. Not that you or Michelle would ever understand that never having a job in the private sector in your life. Understand something, it makes a difference when you sign the front of the check.

Not to be outdone, here comes the candidate herself, selected, not elected, who never won one primary in two election cycles. Yet somehow, she’s the nominee. You would think a fix is in? Anyway, the Kamila Harris wrap up was interesting.

“And every day, in the courtroom, I stood proudly before a judge and I said five words: Kamala Harris, for the people. And to be clear — and to be clear, my entire career, I’ve only had one client: the people.

And, so, on behalf of the people, on behalf of every American,.. I accept your nomination to be president of the United States of America…

…And let me say, I know there are people of various political views watching tonight. And I want you to know, I promise to be a president for all Americans. You can always trust me to put country above party and self. To hold sacred America’s fundamental principles, from the rule of law, to free and fair elections, to the peaceful transfer of power…

As a young courtroom prosecutor in Oakland, Calif., I stood up for women and children against predators who abused them.

…I fought against the cartels who traffic in guns and drugs and human beings. Who threaten the security of our border and the safety of our communities…”

One client, “the people.” Talk about pathetic.

Tell me Ms. Harris, did you fight for “the people” and stand against the predators who abuse them when you refused to detain and deport two animals from Venezuela who kidnaped, raped, and murdered a twelve-year-old girl in Houston? Let me enlighten you Ms. Harris, she still had her braces on when they pulled her out of a store, took turns at her, strangled her, and left her body in a creek? Tell us Ms. Harris, do you feel any regret that you failed this girl and her family, not to mention countless families who have to deal with your invasion policy, allowing countless criminals into the country? I think we know the answer.

Border Czar Harris, did you fight against the cartels by allowing gangs to cross into our country at will, shipping in Fentanyl, weapons, and humans? Do you feel any pain at the pain of  parents who have seen their kids die, sometimes inadvertently, by a Fentanyl overdose? Is your party power worth the misery the invasion on the southern border is causing millions of Americans? To borrow the phrase, how do you sleep at night knowing this? Would you actually have some empathy if your step-daughter was raped by an illegal alien?

I think we know the answer, I hate to say.

Finally, America’s greatest National Guard cook, Tim Walz. The, shall we say, exaggeration of his military service has already been commented upon. But I find his comments on China more enlightening. According to former students of his,

As a high school teacher in the 1990s, Democratic vice presidential candidate and Minnesota governor Tim Walz appeared to extol life under Chinese communism, telling his students that it is a system in which ‘everyone shares’ and gets free food and housing.

‘It means that everyone is the same and everyone shares,’ Walz said during a lesson on China’s communist system in November 1991. ‘The doctor and the construction worker make the same. The Chinese government and the place they work for provide housing and 14 kg or about 30 pounds of rice per month. They get food and housing.’”

Mr. Walz, I learned before I was ten northing is free. You hadn’t figured that out by your 30s? You parents forgot to learn you a few things.

Now there is much to admire about the Chinese people. Thousands of years of history, the Great Wall, using a form of capitalism that has lifted tens of million from poverty. But the communist government of the 20th Century forward is not one of them.

I think we’ll agree that NAZI Germany’s government was an evil institution. In World War II, somewhere between 70 and 85 million people died. However, in Mao’s Great Leap Forward (a progressive term if ever), over 45 million people died, mostly from starvation. Was that an example of everyone “sharing” in food and housing? We would like an answer. More than that Mr. Walz, is that what you want for the United States?

But this was an interesting comment,  “One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.” Governor Walz, you really need to go back to your elementary school teacher. Neighborliness is being congenial or friendly on your own decision. You neighbor is having car trouble, you go over and help him get it started. Socialism is a form of collectivism, where the government takes control of all means of production and redistributes according to “his needs,” in the judgement of unaccountable bureaucrats. Put another way, “neighborliness “at the point of a gun.

So what do you have in summary. A screeching hypocrite who hates this country and loved having her husband weaken the United states across the world. An ambitus drunk who will stop at nothing to get to the presidency, even if she’s more completely unqualified than the man behind her curtain. And a collective loving former governor who had no issues with letting the mobs, the base of the party, destroy multiple cities in his state.

I never thought I would say this in my lifetime. I’ve known for decades this is not JKF’s Democratic Party. Not even LBJs. Or Jimmy Carter’s. But this ain’t even Bubba Clinton’s party. The radical takeover of the Democratic Party, starting with the 1968 DNC in Chicago, had been completed by the 2024 DNC in Chicago. Bernie Sanders and AOC are moderates in that hall. The problem is too may people in this country have no idea how radical and dangerous a once mainstream political organization has become.
