Vice President JD Vance’s speech at the Munich Security Conference, Feb 14, 2025 was like Winston Churchill sounding the alarm about Hitler and the NAZIs then in turn warning about Soviet Communism with his famous Iron Curtain speech. Like Churchill, VPOTUS Vance is mocked. And, like Churchill, whose critics were deadly wrong, Vance’s critics will have blood-stained hands for suppressing free speech and inviting the migrant invasion and Muslim barbarism into Europe.
Churchill and Vance defend Western Civilization. Their critics are too weak to fight and too willing to surrender.
A Churchillian vision was spoken in middle American rhetoric.
Vance hit the ruling European Elites with his worry about “the threat from within, the retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values, values shared with the United States of America”, because the ruling European Elites themselves are the actual threat. Increasingly, they rule as totalitarians.
The Elites rule countries and the European Union (EU) as assorted stripes of Socialists. Even their compliant “conservative” parties are fundamentally socialists – wed to their overwhelming welfare states.
As Socialists they share the worldview of the French Revolution. That means they believe in the basic ideas of Human Secularist Totalitarianism. Like, the state is supreme, rights come from the state, group rights establish protected classes of persons, and government imposes what it deems as good upon its people to make them become better.
The ”positive” rights of government are the opposite of the American and, until recently, British concepts of limited government with “negative” constitutions telling government what it can’t do.
The end of the Soviet Empire ended the electoral rationale for the nationalists and “Right” in Europe. Since the European Right ascribed to the same statist view of government, they had no winning argument. The hard Socialists put on their new Cultural Marxist uniforms and got themselves elected to power across Europe. They grew and grew their power, especially the power of the bureaucrats in the EU.
The Brits pushed back with Brexit but were betrayed by their own Conservative Party.
Now, as always since the French Revolution, the Human Secularist Totalitarians by whatever name they call themselves, show their fangs and claws as the totalitarians they are.
Vance sees it. “In Britain and across Europe, free speech, I fear, is in retreat.”
From the French Terror to the Communists to the Fascists to the National Socialists to European Socialists ruling as Cultural Marxists, the Totalitarianism always comes out of the Human Secularism to suppress, oppress, imprison, and ultimately to kill.
The European elites accept the rape and murder of their citizens to protect the immigrants they invited to replace the Europeans who lack the will to replenish their own population. They imprison people who merely complain about the immigrant invasion – and especially about Muslim barbarism.
Vance gave examples, like, “Sweden, where two weeks ago the government convicted a Christian activist for participating in Koran burnings that resulted in his friend’s murder. As the judge in his case chillingly noted, Sweden’s laws to supposedly protect free expression do not, in fact, grant, and I’m quoting, “a free pass to do or say anything without risking offending the group that holds that belief.”
It is illegal to criticize homosexuality and Islam in the EU. The protected classes have the right not to be offended backed by armed police and vengeful judges. European Christians and Jews are not protected.
Furthermore, Vance adds, “When political leaders represent an important constituency, it is incumbent upon us to at least participate in dialogue with them.”
Those who oppose Islam and massive immigration, which are two separable issues, aren’t given a voice. Look at shady electioneering in the UK, France, Germany, and Romania.
“And of all the pressing challenges that the nations represented here face, I believe there is nothing more urgent than mass migration.” Too many migrants are coming in too short a time to be fully assimilated as Europeans.
The Muslim barbarians can’t be assimilated at all as long as they cling to their Islamist Totalitarianism. The problem isn’t about being radicalized. Islam is the problem. The backward, barbaric Islamic Civilization, which includes a religion for savages, is at least 800 years behind Western Civilization.
Vance won’t name Islam as the issue yet, but obliquely points to the bloody results of the Muslim invasion and baby bomb. “It’s the result of a series of conscious decisions made by politicians all over the continent and others across the world over the span of a decade. We saw the horrors wrought by these decisions yesterday in this very city.”
Above all, it is one thing to know what you are against and quite another what you are for. For what you are willing to risk your life, property, and sacred honor. Vance gets it as it “seemed a little bit less clear to me, and certainly I think to many of the citizens of Europe, is what exactly it is that you’re defending yourselves for.” Western Civilization is one answer. Christianity and Judaism for Europeans should be another. Freedom from drawing the black veil of Islam across Europe to become more deadly and much more permanent than the Iron Curtain of Soviet Communism.
The warning shot to all NATO countries should be clearly understood. “If you’re running in fear of your own voters, there is nothing America can do for you, nor for that matter is there anything that you can do for the American people who elected me and elected President Trump.”
“It is the business of democracy to adjudicate these big questions at the ballot box. I believe that dismissing people, dismissing their concerns, or worse yet, shutting down media, shutting down elections, or shutting people out of the political process, protects nothing. In fact, it is the most sure-fire way to destroy democracy.” Because, sooner or later, European peasantry will rise in a modern Jacquerie against the Ruling Elites and barbarian invaders. It will be far worse than the uprisings against miscreant feudal lords.
Wake up you condescending Elites, you Human Secularist Totalitarians, you Cultural Marxists across Western Civilization. Note this clearly: “But what no democracy, American, German, or European, will survive is telling millions of voters that their thoughts and concerns, their aspirations, their pleas for relief are invalid or unworthy of even being considered.”
Sooner or later the Elites will hear:
“Allons enfants de la Patrie,
Le jour de gloire est arrivé!
Contre nous de la tyrannie,
L’étendard sanglant est levé”
