Broken Social Order, Brought to You by the Democrat Party

I try to follow the writings of Ruy Teixeira, one of the authors of “The Emerging Democrat Majority.” He’s a smart guy who always provides sound analysis, backed up with objective data. But he often stops about an inch short of getting to the root of whatever issue he’s presenting.

His most recent Liberal Patriot article, “The Democrats’ Social Order Problem,” is a case in point. Teixeira points out that Ipsos polling indicates that 66 percent of Americans believe our society is broken. Teixeira concludes – convincingly – that America has a “social order” problem, and the Democrats are fumbling it. He writes:

If the social order problem is as serious as these quotes and survey findings suggest—and I think it is—it raises troubling questions about the current state of the Democratic Party. It’s bad enough that favorability toward the party has hit a 35-year low and that 70 percent of voters think the Democratic Party is out of touch with the concerns of most people in the country today.

He continues:

Democrats don’t recognize that underneath these views is the roiling crisis of the social order and voters’ sense that Democrats are utterly useless at resolving it.

Teixeira seems genuinely perplexed at the inability of the Democrats to engage with the problem, saying: “That’s why so much of Democrats’ attempt at reform rings so hollow. They’re not even asking the right question.”

I respectfully suggest that Mr. Teixeira isn’t asking the right question either. Why does America have a “social order” crisis to begin with?

Could it be that the Democrat party isn’t attacking the “social order” problem, because they’re counting on it? Consider the positions which the party now advocates:

  • Open borders,
  • Skin-tone based reward,
  • Demonization of Judeo/Christian values,
  • Political violence,
  • Moral relativism,
  • Massive wealth redistribution,
  • Election outcome resistance,
  • Economy busting spending,
  • Civil unrest,
  • Climate hysteria,
  • Gender confusion,
  • Dissolution of the family,
  • Censorship, and
  • Propaganda.

Occam’s Razor posits that “the simplest explanation for a phenomenon is usually the correct one.” The simplest explanation for the behavior of the Democrat party is that the radicals who have seized control of the party, see social unrest as a feature not a bug – a necessary precursor for implementing their socialist vision.

The Democrat party is no longer the party of John F. Kennedy. It is now the party of:

  • Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez – who asks that we loot the wealth of the country’s most productive, whom she pejoratively calls “oligarchs.”
  • Democrat strategist James Carville – who demands that the Democrats cement one-party rule by packing the courts, nationalizing elections, and adding blue states.
  • Senator Chris Van Hollen – who claims illegal aliens are his constituents.
  • Representatives Ramirez, Tlaib, and Omar – who confess to representing their countries of heritage, rather than their country of citizenship.
  • Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani – who if elected promises to seize the means of production in New York city.
  • Representative Jasmine Crocket – who profanely promised to “beat down” Republicans.
  • Too many elected Democrats to name – who now celebrate vandalism, assault, and assassination as valid political expression.

As the Democrat party patron saint Barack Obama told us, they want to “fundamentally transform America.” What was left unsaid was that the destruction of all social order is the demolition they must complete before the rebuild can begin.

To answer the question Mr. Teixeira didn’t ask: America faces a “social order” problem, because the Democrat party has a radical agitator problem.

Like Mr. Teixeira, I believe America is best served by two patriotic political parties, sharing a common vision for our country, but offering competing ideas to achieve it. But unfortunately, our body politic is currently torn between two diametrically opposed visions for America. One is working towards a future of tribalism and socialism. The other is working to preserve individualism and capitalism. So long as the country is split between those ideologies, there can be no comity nor compromise – only chaos.
