Christmas Is the Story of Love

“This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

(1 John 4:9-10)

Christmas is just a few days away. Around the world, many Christians have lit the Candle of Love in the Advent wreath.

The story of Christmas is, at its heart, the story of God’s love. It is the story of a Creator who loved His people so deeply that He could not leave us lost and separated from Him. Instead, He chose to enter into our world in the most humble and vulnerable way imaginable—through the birth of His Son, Jesus. That tiny baby lying in a manger was God’s greatest gift to humanity, sent not because we deserved it, but because His love is unconditional, steadfast, and everlasting.

But this love did not end in Bethlehem. Jesus’ birth was only the beginning of a greater story—one that led to the cross, where He laid down His life for us so that we might be forgiven and reconciled to God. Through His sacrifice, we see the depth and power of divine love: a love that gives, redeems, restores, and never lets go.

Even now, centuries later, that love continues to dwell with us through the presence of the Holy Spirit. The same love that moved God to send His Son still moves in our hearts today, comforting us in our struggles, guiding us in truth, and empowering us to love others as He has loved us. As we journey through this Advent season, may we pause to marvel at the magnitude of that love—a love that transforms, sustains, and calls us to reflect it into the world.

May you enjoy a Christmas of love!

Prayer: Loving God, thank You for showing us the depth of Your love through the gift of Your Son and the presence of Your Spirit. As we await the celebration of Christ’s birth, fill our hearts with Your love and teach us to share it freely with everyone we meet. Amen.
