In Ohio, SNAP pays out $1,421 PER MONTH for a family of six.
How does that make you feel?
I don’t know about you, but I’m LIVID.
Let’s call it what it is: FREE FOOD WITH FRAUD.
I feed my family of six on $120-130 PER WEEK. That’s $520-560 a month. Restaurant quality meals. Chicken Piccata with wine sauce. Gouda Stuffed Thighs. Homemade Scampi. Fresh vegetables every dinner.
HALF of what SNAP hands out. I have the receipts.
So why is the government paying people nearly TRIPLE what I spend? What are they buying?
GARBAGE. Energy drinks. Hot Cheetos. Mountain Dew. Processed junk creating an obesity epidemic that I get to pay for through Medicaid.
I’m getting SCREWED. TWICE. I fund the garbage food with my taxes. Then I fund the diabetes treatment. I’m financing America’s health crisis from BOTH ends while making Chicken Piccata like a CHUMP.
And the comments on my last post? Blood boiling.
“You can’t feed a family good food on a budget.” “Your meals need to be more FANCY.”
Are you out of your ever-loving MINDS?
Aldi. THIS MORNING. February 2nd, 2026. Here’s what “not fancy enough” looks like:
MONDAY: Chicken Piccata – $2.07/person Chicken breast at $2.49/lb, butter at $3.29/lb, Sauvignon Blanc at $4.39/bottle, fresh lemons at $3.19/lb, broccoli at $2.15/lb. This costs $24 at restaurants. I made it for two bucks.
TUESDAY: Chicken Scampi with Bowties – $2.17/person Garlic butter wine sauce, farfalle at $0.85/bag, wilted spinach at $1.99. My kids think we’re at Olive Garden.
WEDNESDAY: Homemade Chili – $2.37/person Ground beef at $5.39/lb, black beans at $0.89, crushed tomatoes at $1.65, tomato sauce at $0.55. Wednesday dinner AND Thursday lunch. That’s not cheap. That’s SMART.
THURSDAY: Chicken Over Rice with Pan Gravy – $1.41/person Homemade gravy from the drippings. Baby carrots at $1.09. My grandmother would slap you for throwing away those drippings.
FRIDAY: Taco Night – $1.93/person Ground beef, vine tomatoes at $3.19, romaine at $3.29, cheddar at $1.89 I shred myself because pre-shredded is for quitters, shells at $1.65.
SATURDAY: Gouda Spinach Stuffed Chicken Thighs – $2.64/person This one REALLY torches me. Thighs at $1.55/lb, skin pulled back, stuffed UNDER THE SKIN with gouda at $3.09, spinach at $1.99, pinch of nutmeg. Pan-seared golden. French green beans at $2.99/lb. DINNER PARTY FOOD. Guests ask for this recipe. Under three bucks.
SUNDAY: Chicken Caesar Salad – $1.20/person Romaine at $3.29, grilled chicken, parmesan at $3.95, croutons from stale bread because I’m not an idiot.
AVERAGE: Under $2.00/person.
“What about DRINKS?”
Glad you asked. We infuse water with lemon and orange slices. Same fruit lasts days. Kids actually drink it. No soda. No juice boxes. We don’t BUY drinks. We MAKE them.
Someone alert the media.
Breakfast? Eggs at $2.19/dozen. Eighteen cents per person. Lunch? Leftovers. Because food doesn’t expire at midnight.
Weekly: $120-130 Monthly: $520-560 SNAP for family of six: $1,421
Almost $900 MORE than what I spend on Piccata, Stuffed Thighs, and fresh everything.
When did “SUPPLEMENTAL” become “Nearly Triple What Responsible Families Spend”?
Quinn’s 25th Law: “Liberals are great at giving away other people’s money.”
My solution? SCRAP THE EBT CARD.
The left loves socialism. Here’s the irony: actual socialist systems have NO MONEY. You get rations. You get what the state provides.
Let’s give them exactly what they want.
Partner with Aldi. Three meal plans. Pick A, B, or C, grab a box of ingredients with recipes.
No card. No cash value. No trading for cigarettes behind 7-Eleven.
Can’t sell chicken thighs for drug money. Can’t trade gouda for scratch-offs. There’s NO MONEY. Just food.
You want socialism? HERE IT IS.
Every box teaches families to cook. Real portions. Pan gravy from drippings. Infused water instead of soda. Kids watch and learn skills for life.
They learn to BUDGET. When you see what feeds six people weekly, you understand real costs. When you leave the program, you have SKILLS.
The current system wants dependency. Mine makes itself OBSOLETE.
This fixes Medicaid too. Obesity, diabetes, heart disease – all from garbage diets I’m funding. Fresh vegetables PREVENT those diseases. Every broccoli dollar saves ten in medical bills later.
Fraud disappears overnight. Can’t sell raw chicken for cash.
But this will NEVER happen. The system keeps people dependent, voting for whoever promises more. SNAP costs $8.2 BILLION monthly. That’s an INDUSTRY that needs poor people to stay poor.
Quinn’s First Law: “Liberalism always generates the exact opposite of its stated intent.”
I teach in a high-need district where all my students get free lunch. Single income. Teacher’s salary. Stay-at-home mom. Four kids. DEBT FREE except mortgage.
We spend HALF what SNAP provides while eating Gouda Stuffed Thighs with nutmeg and drinking lemon water like people who have their lives together.
Tell me my meals aren’t fancy enough. I DARE you.
Every price from ALDI TODAY. Walk in and check.
But what do I know? I’m just a taxpayer feeding his family restaurant meals on half what the government hands out, a teacher in a district everyone abandoned, a 23-year Army combat medic who built schools in Iraq, and apparently the only person who thinks personal responsibility and Gouda Stuffed Chicken should matter more than creating government-dependent voters who can’t boil water.
Mike Borowski is a medically retired Army combat medic with 23 years of service, including a combat deployment to Iraq, and a high school Anatomy and Physics teacher at a high-need Career Technical district in Northeast Ohio — where he also wrote and published the textbooks for both courses. He runs “Bski’s Classroom,” a platform dedicated to cutting through political noise with data, history, and the kind of blunt honesty that comes from someone who has seen both war and the American classroom up close.
