As the midterm elections near, those who pretended to want to Make America Great Again are turning on MAGA in the hopes of making Washington run by Democrats again. They are not weathervanes. They are just feathers in the wind.
But they do rather amuse me. Like Bill Kristol and others who were liberals in conservative clothing, the neo-Never Trump clowns put on airs and point their stuck-up noses to the sky as they try to re-define conservatism.
Megyn Kelly—a nemesis in 2015, a friend in 2016, no help in 2020 and a suck-up in 2025—is back to being a nemesis. She went on ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith’s show:
Megyn Kelly: “If you say nice things about [Trump], he loves you. If you don’t, he hates you. We’re in a low period right now.”
Stephen A. Smith: “Do you give a sh*t that you might not necessarily be in [President Trump’s] good graces right now?”
Megyn Kelly: “No, no, I can’t give a sh*t in my lane… I like Sean Hannity as a man. He’s a good guy, but I mean—what he does on the air, I could never stomach where you just [are] towing the party line. You always know what to say cuz it’s defend, defend, defend whatever the right-wing position is, the Republican [position is]. You might as well get a job in Congress.”
Breaking news: Trump likes flattery—just like the other 8 billion people on Planet Earth.
Job in Congress? She’s tad too old to be a congressional page, but I hear Clinton’s hiring an intern. Must be discrete.
The millionaire Manhattanite told her Sirius listeners, “They [Trump supporters] feel like they gave Trump a year-and-a-half. He’s done nothing other than make things worse. They’re pissed. They don’t like the tariffs. They don’t like the war. They don’t like what’s happening in their bank accounts and they’re starting to think that Democrats might be the better option on the economy.”
The economy is doing just fine. Unemployment is 4.1% after dumping 300,000 federal workers and 3 million illegal aliens (combining volunteers with those, um, assisted by our wonderful ICE and CBP ladies and gentlemen).
The price of gasoline is up—$3.89.9 at Sheetz in Rock Branch, West Virginia. Someone please tell Miss Kelly that I don’t care. As long as the sun is shining, I am driving my convertible.
AP reported, “Global oil demand is dropping, but U.S. drivers keep buying more gas.”
Gas prices have become like the weather. Everybody complains but nobody does anything about it.
The story said:
Global oil demand averaged just 97.9 million barrels per day in May, down 5.3 million barrels per day from a year earlier. Much of the decline was in Asia, which relies heavily on oil from the Middle East.
China’s decrease of 1.5 million barrels per day, representing a 9% decline, was by far the largest globally, the report said.
Hahaha. You can see why President Trump is in no hurry to re-open the Strait of Hormuz. Given the pressure our Secretary of the Treasury is applying to clamp down on the crazy Muslims in Tehran, I say we re-name it the Strait of Bessent.
But yes, MAGA suddenly trusts the economy with the Democrats who gave us supply chain nightmares and 20 million illegal aliens.
Then there is Meghan McCain who tweeted on Labor Day, “I am old enough to remember a time when Republicans were against government entitlement programs.”
Her father cast the vote that saved Obamacare.
She also tweeted, “I don’t know who needs to hear this but there’s nothing more establishment than MAGA.
“MAGA has all the power and has had all the power for over a decade. It’s not some counterculture movement with a new hit single.”
Either she’s a liar or a dummy. Likely a little of both.
Finally there is Cucker Tarlson, who once served as the conservative Alan Colmes on CNN’s Crossfire show. He had success on Fox until Murdoch made him the fall guy for the Dominion lawsuit that Fox never fought.
In the 1990s, Carlson called Trump “the single most repulsive person on the planet.”
Early in 2016, Carlson said he was “totally for Trump.”
In January 2021, Carlson said of Trump in a text that he “hate[d] him passionately.”
In 2024, he campaigned for Trump.
This year, he broke with Trump.
On April 21, in a podcast with his brother Buckley, Carlson said, “You and I and everyone else who supported him—you wrote speeches for him, I campaigned for him—I mean, we’re implicated in this for sure. It’s not enough to say, ‘Well, I changed my mind’ or like, ‘Oh, this is bad, I’m out.’ In very small ways, but in real ways, you and me and millions of people like us are the reason this is happening right now. So I do think it’s like a moment to wrestle with our own consciences. You know, we’ll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be. And I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional. That’s all I’ll say.”
On July 17, he told Bloomberg interview, “Trump allowed the US government to be completely steered by this tiny little country in the Middle East, Israel, to our great detriment. Trump has been totally disloyal to the U.S. He cheated on the U.S. with a foreign power.”
Ah, Carlson’s anti-Semitism finally surfaced.
Of the three, McCain is the only one who has loyalty. To her Dad, sure, but one expects that of a daughter. The other two just say for pay. They are an actress and an actor portraying the roles of a conservative. Just as William Shatner isn’t the commander of a starship, Kelly and Carlson aren’t conservative.

The media elite are, in the end, all nice and polite people, people who could happily dine with those who disagree with them, as long as those people are nice and polite elites as well.
But Donald Trump is an [insert slang term for the anus here], and they are appalled. He’s an [insert slang term for the anus here] because after decades of nice and kind and elitist government, an [insert slang term for the anus here] is exactly what we need. President Trump is exactly who is needed to undo as much of the damage done by his predecessors as possible.
