Satire is lost on our leftist friends. Type sluggishly, they are very slow on the uptake.
Recently hell got a new resident, Gloria Steinem. As she never needed a man in this life, she won’t need one in the afterlife.
The BabylonBee.com is a well know satire site. We all know where Miss Steinem spends eternity is not our decision. But it’s not like we’re spitting on her grave, we’re just making the point she told women for generations you don’t need a man in your life. Or, in this case, afterlife.
Someone challenged my Facebook thread, “You’re saying just because she fought for women, so she must be in hell.” I retorted she fought for abortion above all else, and, again, this is a satire site. I concluded, and “don’t take yourself so seriously.” Somewhere I saw another meme with Miss Steinem in her “I had an abortion” shirt, saying “A clump of cells died.” She lived like that, fine. She can be remembered for that.
Now I find liberals post a lot without even looking at what they are saying. Classic case, this meme over issues “Lost In Translation,” posted on a liberal friend’s Facebook page. All of these “points” can be easily fact checked on things more accurate than the Vox, Politico or the New York Times. So, here we go.
Democrats: We’d like cops to stop killing minorities.
Killing minorities? OK, police work does involve rare use of deadly force. In a 20-year career, less than 5% of cops will use a pistol in the line of duty. From Statista, in 2025 (latest year available), there were 1, 138 fatal police shootings, of which 264 were black, 491 white, 199 Hispanic, and 15 Asian (169 of unknown race). Adding this up, blacks were almost half as many fatal shootings as whites. In total of minority groups, 478 blacks, Hispanics and Asians were shot and killed, less than the total number of whites.
I often point out a black person killed on the street has a much greater chance of dying at the hands of another black person than a cop (regardless of race). While blacks make up 13.6% of the population, they make up half of the homicide victims, often gang related in major cities. No, bands of cops are not going out every day just to murder innocent black people walking to church. More of a chance he was murdered by a gang member for wearing the wrong shoes in this neighborhood.
Now the 264 blacks murdered over one year by cops, is this excessive? A site I’ve known for ages, Hey Jackass, tracks killings in one of our formerly great cities, Chicago. In 2025, 364 people were murdered in the Windy City. Of that number, 327 were black, almost 90%. But the police are the problem?
Democrats: Women should have the right to choose.
Choose what? What schools their kids attend? Can’t do that, the NEA pays good money to keep kids in failing inner city schools. What medical insurance they want? No, Obamacare insures you can only select their pathetic insurance. What car I want to drive? No, you don’t need a car, you must go on the bus or a very expensive battery powered car.
Democrats seem to think the only thing that concerns women is abortion. Well, like many abortions of law, Roe v Wade destroyed the concept of federalism. While the 10th Amendment says if it’s not in the constitution, the power is reserved to the states or the people. No, said the Berger court, “We say it is there therefore it is.”
Abortion is a medical procedure that needs regulation, like every other procedure. It is now being handled within the bounds of the constitution, that is at the state lever. Texas says no abortion (except for life of mother) after six weeks, Mississippi after twenty-six weeks, Massachusetts till the baby’s head is crowning. The sausage grinding of law, but it’s less screwed up than 7 lawyers in robes gaslighting the nation.
Democrats: We need reasonable immigration policies
Riiiiiiight. Joe O’Biden and Kamala Harris let in an estimated ten million illegal aliens, including hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied minors, and sent them all across the country. That is “reasonable” there Dims? We have reasonable policies, we just need them enforced. In the first time in my life, our border is secured, and we are deporting millions of illegal aliens. They can apply for admission later, after we vet them.
Democrats: We kneel in protest of inequality.
Funny. That started with a failed NFL quarterback who never cared about “oppression” or “civil rights” until he got benched. It was a method to whip up riots by race baiting politicians.
Democrats: We should wear mask to protect others
OK, if the mask works, why the six-foot rule? If the six-foot rule works, why the mask? And if neither work like Dr. Fauci said, why do them? Democrats, do you know the term gaslighting?
Democrats: We should have background checks.
We have them. ATF Form 4473 is used to verify you can possess a firearm. You go to a sporting goods store, you must complete that form (11 pages) and wait for approval before the purchase. No, this is not the 1920s, gun sales are approved and documented. Also, hate to shock you, criminals don’t buy their guns from sporting goods stores or gun shows, but from other criminals.
Democrats: Feds should not be policing in cities.
To paraphrase John Dillinger, the feds police in the cities because that’s where the crime is. ATF, FBI, DEA, they all work in the blue cities because that’s where people get mugged, robbed, murdered, etc. Local cops often are overwhelmed or have politicians not willing to handle the crime. So the feds go in to establish Justice, insure domestic tranquility.
Democrats: People should have a living wage.
The average wage in this country is $37.17 an hour, almost five times the minimum wage of $7.25. Now I don’t question that may not be enough, but living in blue cites where Democrats are destroying base services (e.g., grocery stores, pharmacies) make if more difficult to make ends meet. I suggest you look at formerly great cities in this country (New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Orleans) and see how things don’t work. If our major cities could make their areas more stable and safe, the more businesses would be interested in meeting the demand for goods and services.
Democrats: We want religious freedom for everyone
Interesting, the O’Biden administration targeted Catholics thought-out the country. Ironic seeing Mr. Biden is a notional Catholic. From the New York Post:
WASHINGTON — The Biden administration “zealously” investigated, penalized, and engaged in “aggressive prosecutions” of Christians “with traditional biblical views” — ignoring their conscientious objections and even secretly keeping tabs on Catholic priests, a Department of Justice task force found.
The DOJ-led Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias released 14 findings Thursday, confirming the 46th president’s officials “forced] Christians with traditional biblical views to choose whether to live in accordance with their faith or risk violating federal law.”
That included prosecutions of pro-life Christians who were given longer sentences than their pro-abortion peers for violations of a federal law protecting access to abortion clinics or pregnancy resource centers.
The report also unearthed new details about a January 2023 FBI memo sent to multiple field offices that called for the targeting of “radical-traditionalist” Catholics as a result of “baseless allegations” from the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center.
Sounds like Democrats don’t like Christians, the religion of two-thirds of the American population. We know they don’t like Jews, 2.5% of Americans.
Democrats: Taxes should be for the benefit of everyone.
No, taxes are not for the “benefit” of anyone. They are authorized by Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution to fund the needed expenses of the government. They are not to be used to punish or benefit any group, and we need to focus on the required actions of the federal government (e.g., law enforcement, border execution).
I’ve got people I have the most respect for posting from radical leftist sites and it drives me insane. I respond, “For the love of God get off of Occupy Democrats!” These are intelligent well-read people, but them are unable to make coherent points after they hit these sites. I’ve said countless times, I’d love to engage them in legitimate criticisms of Republicans or the Trump administration. However, TDS is an actual condition. These good people have lost touch with reality, to our nation’s injury.
