There is likely a consensus in America regarding the unwillingness of parents to have our sons and daughters get involved in Putin’s ravaging of Ukraine, notwithstanding the knowledge-a virtual certainty-that what is actually being destroyed as he goes about his murderous invasion is America’s reputation and our standing in the world.
This would be true even without the recent Afghanistan withdrawal, a precipitous, reckless, insult to American sacrifices in blood, sweat, tears, lives and treasure over some two decades. We abandoned Americans, allies and partners who supported us over the years, left some $86B in military hardware behind that makes the Taliban not only a top regional power, but a force to deal with on a world level. Consider that we abandoned some 5% of Russia’s Gross Domestic Product behind. Not to mention one of the strongest outposts anywhere in the form of Bagram AFB. And yes-we built that!
A leader must communicate in clear terms the conditions for the actions America takes around the world (much like the simple but genius military skills training description: task, condition, standard-it’s written to a 10th grade level-so it would have to be dumbed down for the administration, but…) A case must be made for any activity that we undertake that will almost certainly lead to the loss of America’s children.
That case has not been made, in fact there has been no attempt from the Biden administration to do any of the traditional “superpower” actions that one might expect in response to a thug and bully undertaking an invasion of a sovereign country where one party is clearly the invader-aggressor-plunderer-monster-murderer-while the country being invaded is reduced to largely defensive actions.
The LSMBTG can blather themselves hoarse, but the bottom line is if Putin withdraws the invasion stops: Ukraine isn’t going to pursue Russia or punch outside its borders-if they can figure out where that line has moved. It’s not a war in the classic sense where two parties are fighting over a common objective which the winner will then control-the classic Clausewitz tenet of war as a continuation of politics by other means. We say it takes two to Tango, but bully’s act alone and there is only one way to stop one and I referenced it a lot in a previous article (somebody has to step up and punch him in the mouth. A lot of people say nose, but I guess I’m old school-I want the bully to both stop and shut up.)
The opposite narrative has been pursued for some time now as the Biden administration (and I am giving it more respect than it deserves as if it is a functioning entity being directed) sent a message that unambiguously told Ukraine President Zelensky “you are on your own,” while also communicating to Putin that the United States would be okay with a small or minor incursion-in fact there was likely talk among Biden’s cabinet of treating this like a “matter,” a non-descriptive, nebulous, nonsense word that signals toleration of evil and criminal activity of any and all type through obfuscation and denial.
There is an unfortunate playbook seemingly at work here based on and reminiscent of the disaster of the Obama-Biden Syrian Weapons of Mass Destruction Red Line where the administration dithered and plodded and wrung their hands and pondered. There was talk of a retaliatory strike-hua-because of, well, the affrontery to the world of this, well, affrontery! If Assad can get away with killing his own people like this, then that is, “er, ummm, ahhh, very bad!” It was later revealed that Obama didn’t actually set a WMD Red Line-the world did-reminiscent of Phoebe’s tattoo in a Friend’s episode-when she gave up at the first pin prick and declared the dot the whole world!
Speaking of which, Secretary of State Kerry put things in perspective when he described such a strike in placating terms for the region as a “pin prick,” which was immediately condemned by his boss-Obama-who said in courageous oratorial splendor that the “United States of America does not do pin pricks,” to which my rejoinder would have been-tell that to your idjiot, bolt necked Secretary of State who is trying to protect your “let’s Make a Deal” agenda playing footsie with Iran and climate globalists by saying the quiet part out loud: don’t worry fellas, we won’t risk any of our deals-or your support-over Assad killing Syrians with WMD.
Obama’s gang that couldn’t shoot straight nonetheless adopted a very crafty strategy to deal with this matter by disingenuously putting the onus on a deliberative body that he had shunned and all but banished from the swamp as he dispensed executive action by whipping things out with just a pen and a phone while not even attempting to “woo” congress (Obama’s idea of “wooing” is a ludicrous straw man contrasted with one bad option, how do you like me now? And he taught Biden well-or maybe he is feeding the “dolt,” as evidenced by Biden’s similarly lame but somewhat folksy “wooing” technique, “you’re either Bull Connor or George Wallace (a racist democrat) if you don’t support my lies and ridiculous legislation.”))
And of course, there were no strikes in the end as old Bolt Neck’s foot violated his mouth space again as he offered an opening that Russia was on like a cheap suit, co-opting the bully pulpit and finessing the diplomatic arena so completely by their offer to take lead on the removal of Syrian WMD stockpiles that when the US woke to assess the carnage-like some punch drunk fighter coming to in his corner after one too many haymakers-savvy Americans wondered “what in god’s name did Obama do?” With the LSMBTG drooling and soiling themselves over another Obama “leading from behind brilliancy,” congress was neutered in place doing what they do best-debate foregone conclusions while hamstrung by an administration that set them up bigly as the fall guy (if they had acted it would have been different-but Obama dusted off the “we either put boots on the ground (and a pox and lice on any politician who refers to us-the military in this way)-or we “work with Russia” to get rid of their WMD stockpiles.)) We worked with Russia on this project like DJT later worked with Comey on Russian collusion. I mean, c’mon man, when somebody steals your lunch money-do they buy or share the lunch with you? Nobody I know would.
American leadership was relegated to the cheap seats having ceded the initiative to Russia and Syria, Putin was back (I’mmm back!) in the Middle East as a deal maker-and Israel looked on and channeled Churchill in thinking about those Americans trying everything else before doing the right thing: wondering when that moment would get here….
So how big a surprise was it when Putin saw a signal from the equivalent of the third base coach-and moved on Crimea? If you think about the bold moves Putin made to shore up his near tens of billions of investments in the Arctic to build liquid natural gas infrastructure, solidifying the Nord Stream project to pave the way for supplying oil to Europe, and securing an assured shorter passageway to the Med and Gulf via Crimea, you have to admit that (1) Putin has a strategy (2) it is strategic (3) he is pursuing it at the expense of American stature (4) often with puzzling help from American leaders (5) who should know better (6) and its not a good thing for the world.
But enough about all this world strategery boring stuff. Why haven’t we heard more about what the American military options are in light of this threat to a European Continent that America spent the better part of the last 77 years and trillions of dollars on to maintain, ensure and to safeguard the peace?
Turns out the Army-in particular-is very busy-bijee, bijee-getting the force trained up, indoctrinated and educated-ready to fight for-if necessary-and against evil doers-who partake in that absolute scourge threat to this nation-no, not that one about white rage and white supremacists (keep up, that is so yesterday.) No we are talking about an injustice that impacts some nearly >3% of all Americans and likely less than 1/10th of 1/10th of 1/10th of 1/10th of one percent of all military service members: and that is transgender service members.
Much like the Secretary of Defense’s (SECDEF) previous effort to combat an issue that arose out of nowhere-but competed so well as a priority-one of his first priorities out of the gate-that the entire force underwent a training down day to combat something-SECDEF Austin and his team of hired racist specialists and race baiters had great difficulty defining the problem in order to set the agenda and work objectives. That didn’t stop them from doing it-what does a service down day like that cost?
In this article from the Washington Free Beacon we see the Army is moving out to ensure that gender dysphoria does not become a point of derision and stigma in the Army. Note that this is the epitome of an Alinsky tactic being executed as this plays out. The Army is having officers conduct this mandatory training which must be completed by 30 September 2022: so it is clearly a priority for the force.
In practical terms officers are not the trainers of the force: that job is left to the backbone of the military, Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs.) There is a much higher ratio of NCOs to officers for a reason. With the Army mandating that officers do this training it is a classic leftist Alinsky tactic from every standpoint.
By forcing these officers-and the recipients of their training-to conduct on the one hand-and to receive on the other-training such as this that refers to things like “gender markers” in DEERS (the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System) that among meaningless descriptions may be eligible to supplant the term nebulous-we just hit glide mode on a slippery slope undermining the maintenance of good order and discipline in our military.
This is a priority for the Army right now as Putin ravages Ukraine and China eyes Taiwan. Having officers teach these classes provides the veneer of legitimacy for this stupidity-just by the fact of being in front of the classroom spouting this nonsense.
“What will be thought of him who solicits that which disgraces him?” It is unconscionable-unforgivable-and disqualifying that Army leadership would put officers and NCOs in the position of having to conduct and deliver a social woke message campaign that likely 99% of soldiers will think is total unadulterated fertilizer and manure grade bullcrap. When you are standing up there briefing something like this-you know its bs, the troops know its bs-it undermines morale, credibility-and labels the instructor as a suck up who the troops will not be inclined to trust-or follow-when push comes to shove.
I wouldn’t make it in this marshmallow Army. Whether I was teaching-or receiving-the question or direction of the discussion would be the same. I’ve taught a lot of military classes over the years and briefed a lot since I retired. Here is my candidate recommendation for the Program of Instruction to present this material:
I’ve been asked to go over this material today. I’m not gonna read it to you-if you have problems with the words or your lips hurt too much to read today, just nudge a buddy for clarification or ask me if you get desperate. I ain’t your mommy, your daddy or uncle-and neither is anybody else in the chain. If you have some of these issues or problems or dysphoria described in here-go see medical personal-they are experts-they can help you out-keep it to yourself. Your squad leader and platoon sergeant should be busy doing stuff and are not expected to dispense sexual dysphoria advice in their spare time-they are not trained in it; they are not mentally and emotionally wired or equipped for it like your mommy and daddy and they ain’t gonna get this way with a one-hour block of instruction taught by me. If your pet was sick-I would not expect you to bring it to anyone in this room for treatment-you would find a vet.
This here is mandatory training passed down from the Army leadership that we must complete by 30 September 2022-make sure you sign the attendance sheet so you get credit, so I don’t have to do this again: I will not look kindly on you if you fail to do so and force me to do so. I personally think this is a bunch of woke social experiment bullcrap-er, as I was-what the CPT meant to say was I think this is mandatory training that you should consider educational because you probably ain’t heard no crap like this before. You’ll note at one point on the slides there is a reference to a “gender Marker in DEERS.” That’s a wonderful thing, but science and biology tells us there is no such thing as a gender marker in life-it is a total nonsense, woke meaningless term no matter how many gender options these fools put in DEERS-as I was-not fools, but these Army leaders mandating this foolishness-as I was-this mandatory training. You either stand up to go-or you sit down-you either use the Cowboy place or the Cowgirl place-the infantry side or the quartermaster-its not complicated-so don’t make it so, there is no gender marker to think through or complicate matters with. For you males-I have your gender marker right here! For you females-you will not find a gender marker when you scratch yourself down there. What are your questions pertaining to this issue?

In one situation, a “soldier who was assigned male at birth says he identifies as a female,” “lives as a female in his off-duty hours,” and “is not requesting to be treated as a female while on duty.” In that case, the soldier should be treated with dignity and respect and no further action is required.
If the transgender soldier, however, “later requests to be identified as a female during duty hours and/or experiences increased distress relating to his gender identity,” the officer in charge must “inform [the] soldier of the Army’s transgender policy and recommend that he sees a military medical provider.”
“Gender transition in the Army,” the presentation states, “begins when a soldier receives a diagnosis from a military medical provider indicating that gender transition is medically necessary.”
What a huge bunch of blather. The Army doesn’t have enough problems dealing with sexual abuse and rape and other issues that have increased precipitously as social experimenters have done things like eliminate the separation of male and female living quarters-barracks or maintained the best practice in the old Woman’s Army Corps of a buddy system at all times and all places. No, so we are going to put the onus on officers and NCOs to play some part in this stupidity by putting them on the hook to get involved in some way in this silliness.
I like the way they play the obligation part here-“the officer in charge must inform.” You know what an officer-and NCO must do? Not lie, cheat nor steal-nor tolerate those who do. Just by standing up there presenting this woke BS an officer is sending the message of tacit approval that goes with it. If he truly doesn’t support-agree with-believe it but is merely going along with it-humoring what he knows to be idjiots because of leadership pressure-particularly any with Christian beliefs or others who are simply morally against this stupidity-this is the Alinsky tactic I referred to earlier.
The way to undermine the military is not by doing stupid stuff like this that is so counter-truth and sense that it somewhat rolls off the back as troops hold their breath and out wait their leaders. But by getting soldiers to do things they would ordinarily never do by in effect holding their patriotism, love of this country and belief in self-less service over their heads by making them comply-or else.
Coupled with the ridiculous COVID vaccine mandates that make no sense whatsoever in view of the military being one of the least susceptible demographics among Americans-this is force changing-culture changing-mind boggling Stepford-like stuff that is going to cull an awful lot of good people from our military and keep a lot of good candidates from joining.
The above “must inform” word is strong verbiage in military parlance connoting something tied to an Army Regulation that has consequences and repercussions. I Haven’t checked to see if this trans dysphoria language has been carried forward into legal documents-like Standards of Conduct.
The shocking part of it is this is the same Army that does not let commanders-in general-have access to soldier’s medical records except in very few cases. Before I retired one of my newer soldiers committed suicide by going on unauthorized travel to Las Vegas and blowing his brains out in a hotel room with an Enfield rifle. Because of the Army regulations at the time, I knew he had transferred from Korea to Fort Riley to my unit in very short order. But what I wasn’t informed of was that he had gone a little cuckoo on the rifle range in Korea one day and had to have his weapon forcibly removed as he was facing up range-vice down range-and trying to manipulate the magazine and the forward assist mechanism. The only reason I knew about any of this was when we did the survival assistance officer mandated after action review where the medical team attempts to assign causality-and right up to that moment when I read that and hit the ceiling-it was being classified as a “command climate thing.” I would tell you I went nuclear when I found out the Army killed that soldier by not informing his chain of command that he was a nutjob, but that wouldn’t sufficiently describe my reaction-my disrespect to COL Useless Schticks or the MPs they called to get me some fresh air. I felt bad that we the Army failed this kid-he did not get the treatment he needed that he cried out for-and I felt bad for his parents who blamed the same people I would have blamed-his leadership! I wrote Army leadership and congress over that stupidity-and spoke one on one with MG Shinseki-DCG for training at TRADOC when he visited our unit.
Similarly-the HIV policy implemented by the Army in the 1990s was based on only one person in the chain of command being allowed knowledge and insight to who among those soldiers a commander was responsible for-was HIV positive. With all the training we do in the Army-add in the adventure training-coupled with the little we still knew about HIV in 1992-it was unconscionable that the Army would in effect risk danger to any soldier in and around an HIV soldier-because the chicken poop leadership in charge of the Army at the time did not want to cause stigma to the individual. So let me calculate this-the HIV soldier gets his or her feelings hurt-or somebody catches HIV during a training accident because nobody on the scene knew that the soldier either giving-or receiving-mouth-to-mouth had HIV. I wrote Army leadership and congress over that stupidity, and also talked to MG Malcour-DCG for Operations at TRADOC about how ill-advised and dangerous this policy was for all involved.
This was during the don’t ask, don’t tell era in the military-I will write a future article on the issues that arise from such a simple idea. I wrote Army leadership, congress and the TRADOC Commander over that stupidity.
I guess my message here is we have reached that stage in the Global Folly movie where the Army will be qualified to deal with combat involving Russian trans soldiers: they should know exactly what to do and say so they don’t hurt any feelings or sensibilities while trying to close with and kill them.
In this future military Biden is allowing SECDEF Austin to develop, we are going to show the world how to respect your enemies-treat them with dignity and respect no matter what their gender marker is in their DEERS equivalent system, before we kill them: hopefully in their sleep on Christmas-an American tradition!

I can’t believe that the Army is doing mandatory training on such BS. Sad and pathetic aren’t strong enough words. If we can get past the cheating in 2024 to elect a conservative POTUS, we need a sweeping inquisition of the Department. Fire as possible and reassign to Alaska or an empty office as needed.
Agree-there needs to be an epic house cleaning-flipping biblical-that we haven’t seen since the aftermath of WW I-II, Korea or Vietnam. Coupled with a recruitment campaign-to revive it from the cesspool Austin and crew have driven it into-emphasizing renewal of the values and traditions that make America great-duty, honor, country-selfless-service based on the idea of fidelity to oath of office and the constitution-and the elimination of woke stupidity that does not contribute to warfighting, training or readiness.
We may need to re-institute some form of draft by the time this sillyness runs its course and we assess how badly it has eroded readiness across the force through a combination of dismal retention and poor recruitment rates.
You want to figure out a way to forgive college debt? Service for credits-but we need to re-institute the basic training from the 70s-reconsider the policy allowing recruits to plod along at ~70% until they have to meet fitness and AR600-9 rates by the 6th month mark-and hold the line on doing the time-all of it-to pay off the debt….
There are innumerable medical conditions which preclude individuals who would otherwise be fit for military service from joining (or remaining, once the condition has been diagnosed). I believe “transgenderism” should be included.
I haven’t yet heard of this occurring but imagine it will soon — spending DoD health system (taxpayer) dollars to cover gender “reassignment” surgeries…. I would like to hear ONE logical argument that can substantiate why this would be prudent.

This isn’t the Army or military problem-solving process at play. This is the Obama Alinsky/leftist school of- we are itching to do this really bad-make it happen-and it goes really badly. Soldiers aren’t going to take this crap quietly-but zealots like these don’t give a rats patootie about the impacts on moral, readiness, team cohesion-none of it.
Much like prisoners-I’ve read somewhere about gender assignment surgery paid for by our government. When I served there was no medical coverage for things like abortions-elective surgery: you would think changing one’s gender certainly comes under that category. Because it is surgery-you still needed a commander’s permission-I don’t know if that still applies….

My somewhat bottom-line up-front point was along the lines that even die-hard patriots who are cringing over this administration’s actions are not willing-do not trust-and will not commit our sons and daughters to this cause under such a bunch of feckless losers, notwithstanding……
So not causality from this instance-which is just further erosion likely to lead to South China Sea and Taiwan problems, but a consequence of weakness to my points made in previous versions and later in this article-Putin stared down Bush in Georgia-we did nothing-out finessed Obama in Syria (WMD)-we did worse than nothing-he destabilized the region with advance surface to air missile systems-he moved on Ukraine-Obama didn’t even provide defensive weapons-and he moved on Crimea-again, we did nothing.
The only thing he’s seen that merits respect lately is Trump rallying NATO to cough up the GDP funding, the LNG initiatives to counter his Arctic investments, slowing down Nordstrom 2-scolding the Germans-providing a counter to Russia energy supply for Europe-reversing the Keystone Pipeline environmental foot dragging and providing weaponry for Ukraine-which-say what you will-kept things in check until the electorate got stupid and the cheating started….Almost like a Back to the Future episode-Putin-Biff-borrowed the sports journal to read in the bathroom and Biden forgot where he put it….
