With all of everything that is going on in Ukraine I thought it was time for a little good news. The Gary Sinise Foundation is the good news today. This man is amazing with his help to veterans. Our Government should take a good look and model itself after Gary.
Our Military is our bloodline to freedom. They make this Nation the most powerful nation on earth. Enough of me, this article is all for our veterans. Academy Award-nominated actor Gary Sinise is one of the few Hollywood stars around these days who actually goes above and beyond to help veterans. He’s able to do so through his eponymous organization, the Gary Sinise Foundation.
Sinise Gives Mortgage-Free Home To Veteran Who His Left
Sinise went all out to help a veteran once again this week, when his foundation gave a mortgage-free, specially adapted smart home to a serviceman who lost one of his legs fighting for our country in Afghanistan.
Josue Barron is a veteran from Temecula, California who was only 17 years old when he joined the Marine Corps. Barron told ABC7 that after being raised by a single mother, the Marine Corps. became the father that he never had. “I didn’t have a dad, so the Marine Corps became my father,” he explained. “There was discipline, so I feel like it became that role model that I needed to become who I wanted to become.” The Mix
Retired Army Capt. Juan Guerrero and his family moved into a specialized smart home, mortgage-free, outside of San Antonio, Texas, last week.
Guerrero, who was critically wounded by a roadside bomb in Iraq and eventually lost both of his legs, received the home from the Gary Sinise Foundation, started by the Academy Award-nominated actor of the same name.
The foundation provides houses to veterans who were seriously wounded in combat. Its representatives worked closely with Juan Guerrero and his wife, Shannon, to design and build the home that would best meet the wounded soldier’s needs, the couple told Army Times.
“It’s definitely overwhelming,” Guerrero said. “Every single room is accessible for me in a wheelchair.” ArmyTimes
As heartwarming as these real-life stories are, it can’t get done without Americans like you and me. Please join me in making a donation to our Veterans. Without the men and women who put their lives on the line every day for us, we wouldn’t know freedom as we know it today.
A message from Gary Sinise
My personal mission is what led to the founding of the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2011, and with the help of supporters like you, we will continue to expand this mission in support of our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders, and their loved ones, while upholding the importance of keeping our country strong by taking care of those who serve.
Our programs and projects have certainly made a difference in many lives, but there’s much more work to be done. I encourage you to browse our website, look into our programs, view the many great videos that show us in action, read about some of the heroes and families we have had the privilege to support, and consider making a contribution to help us do even more.
On behalf of all of us here at the Gary Sinise Foundation, thank you.
