You And Your Party Are Responsible For The Carnage Mr. President

Yesterday, I watched as President Biden delivered the leftist, standard response to a mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, where at last count 19 small children and 2 teachers lie dead. His solution–More “common sense” Gun Control. While providing the standard liberal response of “more gun laws!,” after the Sandy Hook school shooting, then President Obama promised that after each and every time there is a mass shooting, he will be there to remind us. Of course he did just that regarding Uvalde:

“Michelle and I grieve with the families in Uvalde, who are experiencing pain no one should have to bear. We’re also angry for them,” he continued. “Nearly ten years after Sandy Hook—and ten days after Buffalo—our country is paralyzed, not by fear, but by a gun lobby and a political party that have shown no willingness to act in any way that might help prevent these tragedies.”

Both Biden and Obama are reminding us…but not in the manner they think. Each and every time they open their mouths after such a tragic event, we are reminded that it is liberals, following Obama’s and Biden’s lead, whoown a big part of the responsibility for the high casualty count in these shootings. They remind us that “gun free” zones ensure that murderers, whether psychopaths or Muslim extremists (I know, redundant) have what is known as a “target rich environment” upon which to inflict their horror. They remind us that Federal and local laws preclude, under threat of felony incarceration, the ability of law abiding citizens, exercising their Second Amendment rights, to stop cold, the second and/or subsequent shots of mass murderers.

Here is what Liberals such as Biden and Obama cannot seem to understand–or more likely, continue to ignore for political reasons–When liberals create a “gun free zone,” they essentially create a target rich environment, a safe space for those who would do their fellow man harm, for whatever reason. Liberals make it legally impossible for any law-abiding citizen to intervene rapidly in a situation such as Sandy Hook…or Uvalde. As any Delta Force Trooper, FBI Hostage Rescue Team member, or Concealed Carry Permit holder can tell you, it is well-nigh impossible to prevent a dedicated killer, psychotic, or ordinary criminal, from getting a firearm or getting off the first shot, no matter how many laws you pass. What gun free zones do is prevent by force of law, law abiding citizens from stopping the shooter’s second or subsequent shots.

This was evident as it was only the arrival of good guys with guns that stopped the Uvalde shooter’s murderous rampage. I won’t go into statistics or anecdotal stories. However, each and every one of these mass shooters was ultimately stopped by the presence of a law-abiding citizen with a gun. The critical factor here is how long it took this law-abiding citizen to show up. It just makes, as the liberals are wont to say, “common sense” to have someone with a gun close at hand. There is an adage: “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.” Continued leftist efforts to disarm the American citizen make this worse. Democrats, you own this.
