An Open Letter to Woke America

Dear Fellow Citizens of these United States/Woke America,

This letter comes with a great deal of concern for the well-being of our once-great nation, and for the future of humanity around the globe. We inherited a system of practical civic principles which was unprecedented and quite extraordinary for its time, based on the lessons of thousands of years of history, and dealing with each other and the world around us, which had enlightened those who designed it.  Many fought and died to establish that system, and many have fought and died since to preserve that system.

We seem to now be on a clear path to scrap that system, and completely replace it with something that, at least in theory, will be the fairest, kindest and least destructive to ever have been devised and run by humans, and be completely non-racist, non-judgmental, and all-inclusive.    We are being told that the system we inherited is unfair, unjust, inherently bigoted and benefits only the few rather than the many.  We are also being told that what we are replacing it is new and fresh, will fundamentally transform us as humans into something never before achieved, and will also save our planet from certain destruction at the hands of the untransformed.

During this out-with-the-old-in-with-the-new period, it has become a requirement that anyone who supports the old system be vilified, ostracized, criminalized and/or silenced as detractors, while those in support of the new be given full voice and freedom to do as they please to institute it, the end justifying the means.  The old laws only apply to the old thinkers, and will eventually no longer be necessary once the transformation is complete.  Also, all who have benefited unjustly (explicitly or implicitly) from the old system must pay a penalty to the rest of the world community, and must publicly acknowledge that they have been inherently bad and show everyone that they now understand and are more open-minded in their pursuit of acceptance into the new system.  This includes the United States as a nation, the epicenter of this old system (witness current events in Afghanistan as an example).  Those ushering out the old system and meting out the reparations therefrom are meanwhile exempt from any such penalties, as they are doing what’s right in orchestrating this transformation.

What is to come is so new, revolutionary, and as-yet unproven, it is said, that all dissent of it must be quashed so as not to confuse those who have yet to completely buy in to the new vision.  Even contrary information which has been gleaned, and fully vetted, through generally accepted scientific means, can no longer be seen or heard, because we just haven’t had enough time yet to see that the new worldview will work, if we just allow ourselves to view the world differently.  The data, it is said, will eventually support the theory; we just need to be patient, and allow those running this new system to prove it out.  And those who refuse to accept this new world order must be eradicated, because it can never work as promised as long as there are detractors in our midst.

For the sake of any honest debate and a free and open exchange of ideas that we may still have as United States, I ask that you ask anyone who has actually ever lived under fascism or communism how new this worldview truly is.  Using different language to describe something is a wonderful marketing tool, but as any great salesperson will tell you it changes nothing about the underlying product or service.

Monarchies and oligarchies have existed for as long as humans first organized into societies.  Calling these “progressive” sounds very forward-thinking and novel, but the method of achievement predates the founding of America by centuries, if not millennia.  What is consistently overlooked whenever such societies are proposed and instituted is that humans must run these societies as well as inhabit them.  No human has ever fundamentally transformed, nor are any capable of fundamentally transforming.  

This is biological more than psychological.  We are all biological as well as psychological; the two are inexorably linked in the complete human.  We all psychologically seek a better world for ourselves; meanwhile, we biologically fight for survival in the one we actually inhabit.  We’ve psychologically devised a multitude of different approaches to achieving the former, but each human who has ever walked the earth shares (and has always shared) basic biological needs to achieve the latter.  

And because of the latter, monarchies and oligarchies have historically devolved into tyrannies which favor the survival of those running the systems, and psychological methods of threat, oppression, and ignorance (i.e., denial of education and information) become the only ways to get the mass numbers of other humans to conform and comply with the rules which fail to recognize basic human survival instincts across the whole of that society.

We appear to have largely convinced ourselves in this latest push for a superior world order (and with superior marketing) that we now have a crop of oligarchs who truly have altruistically solved the fundamental transformation dilemma, and possess the necessary vision and strategy to take care of survival for both the planet and the whole of humanity.  We’ve come to believe that their science has both enabled and sanctioned us to alter our bodies to agree with whatever psychological notion we have of who we are meant to be, and that their technology allows us to sufficiently connect with each other on a global scale.  And since they are presumably the holders of the superior vision, we seem OK with enabling them to make sure we are connecting only in ways which are proper and consistent with that vision and strategy.  

What we appear to have forgotten again is that these oligarchs are still as biologically human as the rest of us, and will fight for their own survival every bit as selfishly and instinctively.  Their appetite for power and control over the rest of us will also never be satisfied if left unchecked.  This is who we all are fundamentally.

I know it has become fashionably mainstream to blame ourselves and everything for which America has ever stood as the cause of all of the world’s current ills, but please at least do your own research before accepting any assertions from those humans who stand to gain the most from the new world order being promised.  If you’re able to bypass the censorship you’ll find there is nothing new or progressive about it.
