I was just reading the US labor report for 2022. Did you know that there are over 7,000,000 men age 25-45 who have quit their jobs and live off of government benefits since 2019? Also, I see that there were 779,000 jobs posted just last month. Why? We are paying able-bodied men…to NOT work.
There is a disincentive to work both in government program access and in social engineering in schools that have pushed the ideologies of victimhood and narcissism. It is no longer that you will succeed or fail by your own efforts and merit, but instead will fail without revolutionary intervention, and when you do fail, it will be society’s fault instead of your own.
Trades have little to no exposure in public middle or high schools anymore. Kids are taught only to continue on to college, while colleges by and large aren’t teaching enough real world applicable skills (though they sure do keep collecting ever growing tuition checks).
There needs to be pipelines built from the high schools to various trade schools to give early exposure and offer alternative pathways beyond just going off to a 4 year university and earning a “studies” degree that merely qualifies graduates to work as an ill-mannered barista at Starbucks. There is an incentive for businesses to get involved in that process so they can access a new workforce of those with at least basic skills instead of every hire having to be a bottom-up recruit or an expensive seasoned veteran.
You can’t make welders, machinists, mechanics, plumbers, safety inspectors, risk managers, blacksmiths (yes, there is still a need for those), or any other trade skill professional overnight. The cultural and educational dynamic has to change.
That includes cracking down on the stigmatism that somehow those who pursue trades are inferior in someway to those who don’t. Try running a power plant or a drilling rig with just folks that graduated college.

Because the left wants those who are living off the government trough to be dependable votes, for just one more election, at best. Not that the left cares about any single living human being, but more of the left wanting to get a stranglehold on power.
An added benefit of those who live off the government is that they, like you said, will never be welders, farmers, meat butchers or otherwise fruitful, as God intends, but will be enslaved to the almighty false prophet of the left. One more added benefit is that the supply of money gets shrunk all the more, because of the waste.

MenMales just dropping out of the workforce put themselves in a bad position when they try to re-enter; employers want to know why there was an extended period of unemployment, and if the answer isn’t a good one, the job won’t be coming to them.Feminists have long decried the employment penalty the “mommy track” places on women, women who leave the workforce for extended periods to care for their children; those women fall behind their peers in the competition for increased pay and promotions.

Eventually those women are going to get tired of that s(tuff), and kick the deadbeats out in favor of a new boyfriend who will actually work.
