Three Years Ago
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grammes a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be REDUCED to twenty grammes a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
~ George Orwell, 1984
Greetings my fellow Americans!
In keeping with the Orwellian theme of this article, I should like to note that the third anniversary of the globally-orchestrated COVID-19 lockdowns is this week, March 16th, 2023, in order that this event not be completely memory-holed by Big Brother. On that fateful Monday of 3/16/2020, we were ordered to go to wherever we lived and await further instructions on where we would still be allowed to go in order to sustain our individual lives, and whose jobs or roles were considered to be essential vice not for maintaining some arbitrary minimum of societal and social function. “Fifteen days to flatten the curve,” then “Thirty days to slow the spread,” it was called.
What was particularly remarkable about was not just that it appeared to directly affect virtually every living member of the human race at the time, but also the highly coordinated and sweeping effectiveness and efficiency with which it appeared to be mandated and enforced by governments theretofore notorious for being anything but harmonious and able to turn on a proverbial dime to mete out practical results of any coherence with their stated intent—even after months and years of “strategic planning.” Among the more notable edicts was the sequestering of the aged in nursing homes, along with, at least in California, New York and Michigan, COVID-positive-tested patients, the forced closings of small businesses, especially retailers, grocers and home repair and improvement outlets, while the larger chain stores within those sectors were allowed to remain open, with one-way aisle and social distancing (and, later, mask) enforcement.
Those places of large gathering were allowed to operate while churches and schools were not, the latter having been deemed too large; meanwhile, pot shops and liquor stores of any size were deemed “essential,” while states such as Pennsylvania (under then-State Health Secretary Richard Levine, now Assistant Secretary of HHS in the Biden administration) were issuing guidelines for “COVID-19-safe orgies.” Restaurants were eventually allowed to reopen open, as long as they enforced social distancing, and anyone standing was wearing a mask, the contagiousness of COVID being alleviated once a person’s head sinks below four feet in elevation from ground level. Despite being in the lowest risk category almost from the beginning, children were prohibited from attending in-person school for the duration of the 2019-20 year, and graduates and their families not allowed to assemble for commencement and celebration. The aforementioned seniors were forbidden to receive visitors of any kind, even as they neared death.
Anyone dying during that time was immediately checked for the presence of COVID-19 in his system, as the CDC added a new International Classification of Diseases (ICD) code to the Cause-of-Death repertoire, and for which doctors and hospitals received upwards of $30,000 per incident which was at least partially attributed to COVID, be it the main diagnosis or present with a comorbidity, such as heart disease. Funerals having been banned, their families were not permitted to gather and grieve nor celebrate the loss and life of their loved ones. At the same time, a moratorium on any and all possible remedies for this “novel” virus, outside of those approved by Anthony Fauci’s NIAID and the CDC, was imposed, pending the availability of so-called vaccines being developed and fast-tracked under the code name Operation Warp Speed.
This happened in the United States of America, three short years ago; many died and/or have been irreparably harmed by the edicts and mandates instituted in the name of “public health,” and it remains to be seen whether we will ever fully recover. That it did, and why, is being retconned and memory-holed by those responsible. We must never forget, nor should we ever allow it to happen again
