R.I.P. First Amendment

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

It was nice knowing you, First Amendment.  It was fun while it lasted.  But alas, you are no longer viable.  Our federal government, in collusion with most of the major media, has not only abandoned faith in the First Amendment but has abrogated its duties and responsibilities under it.  Every syllable of this, the first of the first ten amendments to our Constitution, is under constant assault by those entrusted to enforce it, protect it and report about it.

The origin of the first ten amendments to our Constitution, known as the Bill of Rights, dates back to old English common law as far back as the Magna Carta in 1215.  James Madison, the principal author, wrote the Bill of Rights as a formal protection against over-powerful government, since the Constitutional Convention of 1787 which created our Constitution, itself was written to strengthen the federal government when the Articles of Confederation failed.  Some believed the Bill of Rights unnecessary since the new Constitution created a federal government with only Enumerated powers.  Others, like Madison, wisely saw that history proved governments and their powers tend to grow over time.  Boy, was he right or what?

And our government’s growth and breadth of power have grown exponentially, especially since the beginning of the 20th century.  The Framers of the Bill of Rights didn’t haphazardly put it together.  They knew full well that a nascent republic needed the guarantees and protections inherent in the First Amendment to grow and mature as a free nation.  The power of the individual citizen had to be supreme.  Those wielding government power must be kept in check by a moral people (freedom of religion) who could speak their mind (freedom of speech) and make informed decisions because an honest media would report accurately on what powerful leaders/elite were doing (freedom of the press).  If government were still found to abuse its power, the citizen had the right to peacefully protest and seek redress of grievances against the U.S. government.

All the concepts contained in the First Amendment have been turned on their collective heads by the current, corruptocrats running the federal government and their media allies.  Instead of the federal government protecting these God given freedoms, the current regime is hell bent on abusing each of them.  And the watchdog free press is hell bent on letting it without reporting on it.  Case in point, the administration headed by Barack Hussein and Joseph Robinette set the full force of the intelligence and federal law enforcement communities upon the opposing party candidate, Donald Trump.  The former Secretary of State, her royal highness heinous Shrillary Clinton, was to be crowned the first queen of the USA.  To assure that, she hatched a scheme to paint Donald Trump as a traitor to the country in collusion with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

When the relatively short Durham Report (316 pages vs 448 pages of the Mueller Report) was finally released to the public last week after four long years of anticipation, you could have heard a pin drop with all the media silence.  Instead of reporting the truth of what John Durham found out and concluded about the biggest criminal hoax to cripple a presidency, the formerly mainstream media continued their cover up for Shrillary rather than covering her as prescribed in the First Amendment. The Durham Report exposed for all who dared to see and hear the truth, that the Trump-Russia scheme was the largest, most corrupt political scandal of modern times, dwarfing Watergate, and included all the major Washington establishment, the FBI, NSA, the DNC, Shrillary’s campaign, FISA court, Justice Department and foreign spies.  As I heard someone say, it appears everyone was involved in Trump-Russia collusion, except Trump and Russia.

You wouldn’t know of the extent of this corruption if you get your “news” from the New York Times or Washington Post, both of which were rewarded with Pulitzer Prizes for their “reporting” on the fake Trump-Russia Collusion hoax.  When asked about giving back the Pulitzer’s, they doubled down and said they stood by their reporting or refused to answer inquiries.  How is that for so-called free press?  The broadcast media was no different and even so shameless as to allow new hires, such as the fired, discredited and implicated former Deputy FBI chief, Andrew McCabe to give “serious analysis” of the Report to CNN’s dwindling audience (McCabe is mentioned 58 times in the Durham Report – fox meet hen house).  You can’t make this stuff up.

The media, aka free press, is in bed with those it is supposed to be reporting on to the American people, and they’ve promised not to kiss and tell.  The corruptocrat’s misdeeds are safe in the loving arms of today’s “free press”.  It’s an incest fest between the media and the Democrat Party.  The switching of roles is mind numbing, from George Stephanopoulos to Jen Psaki, it is dizzying trying to keep up with distinguishing between the power brokers and the press that’s supposed to be covering them.

If you are limiting yourself to getting news from established “mainstream” sources, you are truly limiting yourself.

Some honest witnesses to inside the beltway corruption have had enough and have bravely stepped forward as whistleblowers.  And as expected, just like they did during the Trump presidency, the press immediately began to shield and protect these guys from government interference and then branded them as heroes and broadcast their eye-opening claims on their nightly news broadcasts.  Oops!  Scratch that.  None of them are named Lt. Col. Vindman.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) chaired the House Weaponization Committee this week featuring testimony from brave whistleblowers who have suffered illegal government retaliation for coming forward to expose Brandon Regime high crimes and misdemeanors in the FBI.  Yes, that same KGB-like FBI that now has been found to have spied on Trump supporters illegally over 278,000 times since January 6, 2021!  Why didn’t they make it an even 300,000?  Our “free press” drew a collective yawn.  Not one of the Big Three broadcast networks covered the whistleblower retaliation hearings on their evening “news” broadcasts.  Imagine that occurring during the evil Nixon years?  The Big Three believe stories on fires and the Vatican to be more important than informing us of what official Washington is doing behind our backs.

If you’re still watching any of the broadcast “news” programs, I feel pity for you because you’re a glutton for state-run, state-friendly, state-approved propaganda.

Our Founders instinctually knew that an informed public was the best deterrent to government tyranny.  That is why they granted full protection to a free press in the very first amendment to the Constitution.  It is that important.  Rather than speaking truth to power, our media has acquiesced to late night dating with the rogues that should be despised by them.  As Joe and Jane Sixpack go about making the country work, they don’t have time to personally keep tabs on the Masters of the Universe in D.C.  That is the job of the free press.  Our press no longer takes that job or the country seriously anymore.  If anyone in today’s media tells me my correct name, the first thing I will do is run, not walk, to check my birth certificate.  I advise you to do the same.

Our Founders, knowing that the First Amendment was the most important, also knew that the government wouldn’t abide by it forever, so they added the Second Amendment as well.  Our free press is no more.  Our First Amendment is no more.  Without it, our republic cannot survive much longer.
