Why is Vivek Ramaswamy REALLY running for President?

When Vivek Ramaswamy entered the race for the Republican nomination for president, I initially thought that he was trying to garner name recognition and GOP voter support either to be Donald Trump’s vice president or a cabinet secretary in a second Trump administration.

I didn’t believe (and still don’t) that he’s running to win the nomination, which has been all but locked up by Donald Trump. I speculated that he could be positioning himself to be the nominee should for some reason Donald Trump be taken out of the race (either through lawfare or other extra-legal mechanism), but that he knows that he otherwise has no chance of being the party’s nominee.

I have since changed my mind. I now think that it is entirely possible that Vivek is running for two reasons, both of which have him in the role of Trump surrogate.

First, Vivek appears to be a stand-in for Donald Trump in these absurd “Republican debates.” It looks like his role may be, in part, to expose the Never-Trumper audience (who are the only ones watching these futile fantasy plays) to the America First agenda. He is giving voice to Trump‘s policies—and channeling Trump calling out the media—on those debate stages without Trump even having to appear. In essence, he is exposing them to the light without the distracting heat of hatred that they have for Trump personally.

Second, although he is subjecting all the other candidates on the stage (which I described after the first debate as “Vivek and the Seven Dwarves”) to his rapier wit and scathing analyses, he is specifically targeting Nikki Haley. He is acting as a stalking horse trying to take Nikki (who is receiving all the financial love from the globalist Democrat and GOPe megadonors) out of the race early.

What do you think? Is Vivek the Sancho Panza to Trump’s Don Quixote? The Tonto to Trump’s Lone Ranger? One thing I know for certain is that time will tell.

  1. What does it say about Trump that he needs surrogate because he is too cowardly to show up himself?

If he’s so far ahead, then why need a surrogate at all?

I think Ramaswamy is running to inherit Trump’s base and carve himself out a media role. He attempts to align with Trump’s base even more than Trump himself.

DeSantis has laid out the most impressive and conservative governing record of anyone in my lifetime.
