The United States, once a beacon of unity and strength, now stands at a crossroads of division and discord reminiscent of the biblical Tower of Babel. The thesis that the USA is akin to the Tower of Babel stems from the perception that we have strayed from foundational values, abandoned a shared sense of purpose, and embraced a culture of individualism and self-importance. We’ve become our own gods and our religion is self-worship.
One of the clearest signs of this division is the stark contrast between “woke” culture and traditional values. The clash of ideologies, beliefs, and language has created rifts within society, leading to polarization and fragmentation. We no longer speak the same language figuratively, as differing worldviews and priorities drive us further apart.
The consequences of this division are dire. The prediction of balkanization and civil unrest looms ominously, as we witness increasing tensions, political polarization, and social fragmentation. The fracturing of the USA into opposing factions threatens the very fabric of our nation and raises concerns about the potential for civil conflict.
Amidst these turbulent times, some turn to religious interpretations, such as the analysis of Revelation, for solace and understanding. While such interpretations offer comfort to some, they also serve as a reminder of humanity’s propensity for repeating historical mistakes and falling into patterns of hubris and folly.
Ultimately, the current state of the USA reflects the universal human condition of imperfection, fallibility, and the struggle for unity amidst diversity of skin colors, what is perceived as inequity in the “system” and legalization of envy as demanding equity. It used to be about equal opportunity, but now has transformed into equity; which is demanding equal outcomes regardless of your work ethic. That’s a recipe for disaster. Get ready for a wild ride.
