As our Traitor in Chief slurs the names of world leaders, tries out his pickup lines on six-year-old girls, and gets lost trying to leave any stage, the Dems have slowly come to the realization that Joe may be the only person who can’t beat the Donald. They started suggesting that he step down from the coming election – for the good of the party – over a year ago. A good number of political pundits have been predicting that the Dems will somehow get their wish.
But I’ve been saying the opposite for the past year. I didn’t think there was any way Joe would drop out of the race, regardless of how many of his coconspirators suggest that he “take one for the team.” He is too disconnected from reality to understand that he could lose, and nothing about his character suggests he would ever do anything even remotely considered selfless.
But then the unthinkable happened. Joe’s son Hunter – the smartest guy Joe knows – was convicted of multiple gun crimes. Since the verdict came down, Joe’s been thumbing through his Webster’s looking for the definition of “consequences.” The outcome of the trial made me wonder: have I been wrong? Is this the one scenario which causes Joe to drop out of the race – not for the good of the country, nor the good of his party, but for the good of his family?
Will Joe Biden act like a father for once in his miserable life and put the welfare of his son above the profits of his influence peddling enterprise? Will he pardon Hunter, and drop out of the campaign with a statement along the lines: I have chosen family over the duties of my office. I am breaking my promise to not pardon my son. Therefore, I am unfit to be your President and am not seeking reelection.
But then I realized: nah … he’s still Joe Biden. It’s much more likely that he’ll
- Accuse Judge Noreika of rigging his son’s trial,
- Pardon Hunter,
- Order “Wingman” Garland to open an investigation of Noreika – she must have taken a bribe or something,
- Demand that Congress ban assault weapons (i.e., anything other than flintlocks) – to deter a semi-fascist MAGA civil war, and
- Lobby Judge Merchan to sentence Donald Trump to jail time – because nobody is above the law.
Then he’ll call an early lid and head to the beach for a long weekend, without a care in the world. After all, consequences are for the peasants, not the Bidens.
