Welcome to the 21st century, where a huge portion of the planet has unwittingly joined an ancient pagan religion. Yes, folks, we are witnessing the resurgence of earth worship, and climate change is its dogma. Forget about reasoned debate or scientific discourse—this modern cult demands nothing less than full submission and a lifetime of penance for the sin of existing.
In the pantheon of this new old religion, Mother Earth, or Gaia, reigns supreme. Her followers worship at her altar, offering sacrifices in the form of lifestyle changes and carbon credits. It’s not enough to recycle your plastics and drive a hybrid; no, true believers demand you renounce your carbon footprint entirely. The air you breathe? Sinful. The meat you eat? Heresy.
These devotees gather in their temples—formerly known as social media platforms—to chant their mantras and spread their gospel. “Reduce, reuse, recycle,” they intone, their voices rising in a chorus of self-righteousness. They wear their eco-friendly badges with pride, each one a testament to their piety. Plastic straws are the devil’s tools, and single-use anything is anathema.
Like any good religion, this one has its rituals. Earth Hour is a sacred observance, where adherents extinguish their lights to atone for humanity’s sins against the planet. Pilgrimages to protest sites and climate conferences are akin to spiritual journeys, where the faithful gather to reaffirm their beliefs and castigate the unbelievers.
And let’s not forget the prophets. These modern-day shamans, draped in the mantle of environmentalism, predict doom and destruction with the fervor of an Old Testament preacher. “The end is nigh!” they proclaim, as they call for more regulations, higher taxes, and fewer liberties—all in the name of saving the planet. Question their orthodoxy, and you’re branded a heretic, worthy of social excommunication.
The zealotry of this cult knows no bounds. Children are indoctrinated from a young age, taught to revere the earth and scorn their parents’ way of life. “Shame on you,” they cry, parroting the sacred texts of their elders. Schools and universities become seminaries, churning out fresh batches of eco-warriors ready to take up the cause.
But the greatest trick of this new religion? Convincing its followers that they’re not part of a religion at all. They see themselves as enlightened, progressive, and above the primitive superstitions of the past. Yet here they are, worshipping at the altar of Gaia, making sacrifices, and demanding the same from you.
So, welcome to the age of the Climate Cult, where reason is sacrificed on the altar of hysteria, and everyone must kneel before the goddess of the green. Join us, or prepare to be branded an unbeliever in this brave new world of environmental extremism
