“Where’s Steve? Is Steve safe?” Trump asked. After being told Steve was safe, Trump said “Darn, I wanted to finish that round!”

President Donald Trump was rushed to safety by the Secret Service after agents spotted a man with an AK-47 long range rifle 100 yards from where Trump & Steve Witkoff, a real estate developer, were on the Fifth Hole at the Trump International Golf Course West Palm Beach.  According to Eric Trump, the Fifth Hole is just yards from the street and a bus stop. Trump’s golf outing was not advertised in advance.

The gunman, who never fired his rifle, was spotted about 1:30 PM by a Secret Secret advance team several holes ahead of Trump. It’s not clear whether the man was on the course or near it. The SS agent opened fire, shooting multiple times, at which time Trump was removed from the course and taken to the club house.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said.

The man was later arrested by Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies on the I-95 freeway after being spotted by a drone. Sheriff William D. Snyder of Martin County, FL, said his deputies had detained the driver of a vehicle wanted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the shooting. The person was detained as he was driving northbound on Interstate 95 and crossed from Palm Beach County to Martin County. The highway is shut down at Mile Marker 110, with federal investigators on the scene, the sheriff said.

Secret Service said it’s coordinating with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office in the investigation. The man who was arrested did not get a chance to fire. He dropped his rifle right after the Secret Service agent fired his gun several times.

PRESS CONFERENCE:

The man with the AK-47 had pushed the muzzle of his gun through the fence when the SS agent spotted him. The FBI is being treated as a potential assassin of President Trump. Trump was between three and five hundred yards from the potential shooter.

A witness saw the suspect running away and took a photo of the car & license plate. The witness identified that the man in custody was the man he saw running away. He will shortly be booked into the county jail. The golf course is still a crime scene and the FBI asked the public to avoid the area. The West Palm Beach District Attorney Office is drafting an arrest warrant and search warrants.

SEAN HANNITY INVITED TO GOLF WITH TRUMP

Fox’s Sean Hannity, a friend of Witkoff, was asked to join them for a round of golf today. On “Fox News Live” this afternoon, Hannity said he declined the invitation because he had to work. Trump often golfs at this course.

Sen. Lindsey Graham post on X “Just spoke with President Trump. He is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. He’s in good spirits and he is more resolved than ever to save our country.”
