Just based on his actions of the last six months, Donald Trump is destined to be recognized as one of America’s most consequential Presidents. Even while facing unprecedented – and even treasonous – resistance, he has exposed government waste, secured the border, leveled the trade playing field, given middle-east peace a chance, released the economy from a radical stranglehold, given pause to global bad actors, gotten law enforcement back to fighting crime, and revealed the anti-democratic subversion of the deep state.
But President Trump’s greatest accomplishment is giving Americans something we’ve been denied for years. It’s the critical ingredient which we need to self-govern – the truth. The Donald has ripped the floorboards of our house up, and shown us what the termites have wrought.
- Corporate media is mostly propaganda.
- Academia is mostly indoctrination.
- Public servants mostly serve the government.
- Social justice is incompatible with individual liberty.
- Far too many politicians are devoid of patriotism
- The justice system is anything but impartial.
- Democrats are still the party of slavery and crime.
- Most importantly, reality is what it is, not what we wish it to be.
President Trump should be commended for his efforts, but he can do little more than temporary patching and bracing. Limited by his Article II authorities, he is not empowered to exterminate the termites. While Trump frantically tries to keep our house from collapsing, Congress is still spending us into bankruptcy and judges are still perverting the rule of law. It is unreasonable for us to expect him to fix the house, that we have allowed to fall into disrepair for generations.
The real power in America is not held by the President, the Congress, or the courts – though district judges seem to think otherwise. The real power is wielded by everyone who shows up at the polls for every election. Hence, long-term corrective action must be accomplished by us, not those we send to Washington.
We know what needs to happen.
- Government needs to get smaller – a lot smaller.
- Power needs to shift back to the states and the individuals.
- Institutional accountability needs to be established.
- Public service must become a patriotic sacrifice, rather than a cushy career.
To put our house back on a sound foundation, we need to empower trump to continue his repairs, by keeping power away from the termites in the midterm election.
We need to recognize that we face a long-term remodel, and choose wisely in the 2028 election.
We need to lobby our states to use their Article V power to reassert accountability over the federal government.
We need to overhaul our school boards and stop the brainwashing of our children.
We need to talk to our children and help them understand the importance of founding principles – limited government, individual liberty, and capitalism.
We need to have faith in the Almighty, and accept that his word is the only path to peace and prosperity.
