PART I — The Internet Broke Your Brain: Congratulations, You’re Now the Product
Once upon a time, the internet was a cute little digital library run by nerds in basements who argued about Linux kernels. Then the corporations arrived, put on a friendly smile, and said, “Hey, mind if we harvest your soul?” And we said, “Sure, as long as it’s free shipping.”
The modern internet isn’t a tool. It’s an attention-extraction machine designed by behavioral scientists who know your weaknesses better than you do. Everything you click, every scroll, every pause, every half-second glance at a video frame — all of it is recorded, analyzed, and fed into a system whose mission is simple:
Hijack your psychology. Milk your emotions. Keep you hooked.
Outrage is the product. YOU are the resource.
The architects behind the screen don’t care what you believe politically or spiritually. They don’t even care if you’re stable. They only need to keep you impulsive, reactive, and emotionally caffeinated enough to stay online.
And because your brain still runs on caveman firmware, you fall for it.
Fear grabs attention. Anger fuels engagement. Certainty feels safe. Outrage sells.
So the internet delivers those four things on an IV drip.
We think we’re scrolling for information and entertainment.
But the truth is: we’re being conditioned.
Welcome to the Skinner box, citizen. Don’t forget to “like and subscribe.”
