One of the signature promises of Donald J. Trump was no more “forever wars,” and no more “regime change” operations. He blasted his Democrat opponents for these very things on multiple occasions, all for the world to see in digital high definition.
His recent foreign policy decisions, from stringing along the Ukraine War to engaging in his own versions of the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor with operations against Iran and Venezuela, demonstrate that the MAGA movement is dead… with Trump as its own undertaker.
I warned of this very thing right after the election in 2024, when Trump appointed arch Neocon Susie Wiles as his chief of staff.1 Many do not understand that in large organizations, such as political or military commands, the chief of staff (COS for short in the military) is THE most powerful person in the office, in many ways more powerful than the one above them. The COS can obstruct access to the boss, but can also engage in their own decisions, even contrary to their boss’s desires. When they do the latter, only a few may attempt to go around the COS to ask the boss, “did you really want that?” And the few that do learn very quickly that the boss, desirous to show support for their appointee, will ex post facto endorse what the COS did.
Regardless of the flimsy justifications for kidnapping a foreign leader in the wee hours of the morning,2 the fact that Trump is now routinely violating his own promises on this key issue portends serious trouble for the MAGA movement. One must note that 35% of die hard Trump supporters will follow him to the moon and back if necessary. But 35% don’t win elections. There is a significant portion of non-die hards who voted for Trump in 2024 who will now feel seriously betrayed. In the next elections, they will either stay at home, or worse vote for the leftists.
It is doubtful that the United States could survive another four years of the likes of Barrack Obama, Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris… or even another Bush for that matter. When the leftists regain power… and now they almost certainly will, they will wield it with a furious vengeance akin to Mao’s China and the “Great Purge” of 1966-67. The last vestiges of freedom in America will be thrown into the shredder, and their will be no coming back from it.
So many in MAGA cheer for now. But be prepared for Biden 2.0 in spades. And Donald J. Trump will go down in history as the one who laid the groundwork for the final demise of freedom and liberty in the United States.
