When I read that Ilhan Omar’s (C – Mogadishu) home had been raided, I got a chuckle out of it, but didn’t expect much to come of it. After the indictment on “Cardinal” Comey, I figured the search of Omar’s house was just the next episode of FA without the FO theater – give us a little hope for the midterms before a radical judge decides justice if for putzes with an “R” behind their name. But now I’m starting to wonder if something’s different this time.
Things got really interesting over the weekend. The most obnoxiously unshy member of Congress is suddenly “keeping it low.” It seems Omar has gone into hiding. Now why would that be? Does she know she’s in trouble this time? It occurs to me that when a crime is committed, the guilty person is the only one who knows for sure who did it.
We also learned that the feds seized the phone of Ilhan’s sister, Sahra Omar, and that members of her family have been subpoenaed. Sahra may even be talking!
But my favorite weekend development is that the feds have acquired a DNA sample for Ilhan. Contrary to initial reports, they claim they didn’t get it by dumpster diving. However they came to have Ilhan’s biological fingerprint, I hope it was by means other than Mar-A-Lagoing her undies drawer. Yuck.
That last DNA development is what really raised my eyebrows. What possible relevance could DNA have to this investigation? It’s not like Congress’ resident terrorist sympathizer is accused of assault, murder, or schtuping interns in her office. How does DNA help in building a case for immigration documentation “embellishment,” financial disclosure “accounting errors,” tax evasion “honest mistakes,” or spuing blood libels with “debate clause” immunity?
Admittedly, I don’t have answers. But I’ve got a bunch of questions.
David Steinberg did an intense investigation and alleges that Ilhan, her sister Sahra, and her father Nur Said are not actually members of the Omar family. He claims that they are actually members of the Elmi family, but masqueraded as members of the already immigrated Omar family to gain asylum in America. Steinberg further claims that Nur Said was not a school teacher has he claimed, but rather a high-ranking member of the Somali army – an army which is known to have committed war crimes. Will DNA evidence prove that Ilhan and her family committed fraud by falsely claiming they were Omar’s when they were actually Elmi’s?
Could the US have acquired DNA associated with Somalian atrocities? Will familial DNA prove that Nur Said Omar is actually Nur Said Elmi and committed war crimes as a Colonel in the Somali military? That would have made him and his minor children ineligible for asylum. We don’t reward criminals for running from what they created – unless you’re Bill and Hill … allegedly.
Rumors have swirled for over a decade that Ilhan Omar married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009 to commit immigration fraud. The allegation is that the marriage was a sham, perpetrated to acquire citizenship for Ahmed, who is actually Ilhan’s biological brother. Have the feds sifted through Ahmed’s garbage too? Will DNA testing prove that Ilhan married her brother?
I’m also curious about the timing of the federal dumpster diving – supposedly it was done prior to the issuance of the search warrant. Was DNA evidence used to get the search warrant? Did it prove something that even a Clinton appointed Magistrate couldn’t ignore? Is it something that even a TDS afflicted jury won’t be able to rationalize away?
And why did the feds seize Ilhan’s passport? Were they worried that she might self-deport before they can involuntarily deport? Or do they just want to have her passport in hand when the denaturalization happens?
Omar’s commie friends are going to claim that even if our hijab clad f-bomber committed immigration fraud, the statute of limitations has run. Well, yes and no.
The criminal statute of limitations is 10 years, and it has run out unless it’s part of an ongoing conspiracy – in which case the clock doesn’t start counting down until the most recent fraudulent act has been committed. Some are positing that the last act in Ilhan’s conspiracy happened in January of 2025, when she took her last oath of office – along with filing associated paperwork claiming citizenship.
I don’t know if that’s true or not. But even if her oath didn’t extend the statute of limitations, there is no statute of limitations for civil rather than criminal charges – and revocation of citizenship is a civil action. So maybe the feds will skip the bus ride to Danbury and focus their efforts on giving Ilhan a plane ride to Mogadishu instead. Frankly, I’d be okay with either.
When asked about 9/11, Ilhan Omar famously said all she knew was that “some people did something.” I think that statement pretty much sums up the “Omar” family – “some people did something.” With every new revelation, I’m more convinced that we’re eventually going to learn who “some people” is, and what the “something” is that they did.
Somalia is still a dangerous and horrible place to live. Ilhan’s life might really be in danger if she’s deported there. So maybe Ilhan could be the first congressional beneficiary of the Supreme Court ruling allowing the DHS to deport illegal aliens to third countries. Maybe France would like to have her?
