I had a discussion with a leftist yesterday. I realize that this is usually pointless. No one is ever more certain of their own rectitude than a liberal. But for my own amusement, I went ahead and engaged. It was fun.
The topic was, “What is worth fighting for?” Kicked off by the typical liberal claim that a new civil war was coming, and that Conservatives would start it. I pointed out that if a civil war started, it would be started by liberals attempting to brainwash people. I added that I didn’t really care, for example, if a girl believed she was a boy, it simply didn’t matter to me. But if she insisted that I agree with her, that was brainwashing, and I would fight that. Worse yet, if my company or my state passed a law that said I had to agree with the delusion, I would definitely fight that; First in the courts, and then further if necessary.
The response (from the liberal) was that I was denying her the right to identify herself. This is the standard liberal response. Somehow me refusing to agree with a false claim is about the claimant. Nope, it’s about me. Trying to force me to agree to something that is demonstrably false is doing violence to me. The term is brainwashing.
Well, we continued in this vein for a bit. The leftist completely unable to get the concept that as far as I was concerned, she could call herself a transgender male unicorn. But no matter what she called herself, she would still be a female, and that is how I would refer to her and think of her.
But typical liberal, whatever I said it was always about her identity. After a while I mostly gave up, finally coming back with the old ‘hit them over the head with a sledgehammer to open their skull to a new idea’ method. I asked her this, “Would it be worth fighting over if your child’s high school teacher taught your child that the holocaust was entirely the fault of the Jewish people? and required them to state that on a test in order to pass the class and pass high school? Would it be worth fighting over to fight that falsehood?“
Funniest thing, the liberal never answered. Clearly, I had hit her with exactly the right point, holocaust denial. But she didn’t answer. I had made the point. Demanding that someone deny objective reality is brainwashing. And yes, it’s worth fighting to avoid being brainwashed.
Having “won” that point though, I thought about the larger point. Evidently the FBI is claiming that ‘white extremism’ is the major domestic threat facing this country. And that many of the ‘white extremists’ are former soldiers, and this is the group that will take the US into another civil war.
Yet I never see any actual evidence of this threat. You would think they could at least point to some ‘white extremist’ violence. And I don’t mean the planned ‘abduction’ of the Michigan governor that actually had more FBI informants involved in the plot than plotters.
And the white extremists are former soldiers? Bull puckey (phrasing it politely). I was in the service. There may be a few racists that manage to get into the military but there are even fewer when they leave. The act of breaking track on a tank in a foot of mud in 33-degree weather together, is guaranteed to build the companionship that dispels racism. Or slogging through the mud and dirt together if were unfortunate enough to be Infantry, and not Armor. And no one loves our country more than vets. The idea that they are a domestic threat to our country is literally insane.
The ridiculous claim of white extremists having a home in the military, that claim alone, shows that the FBI is lying yet again. On the other hand, I have no doubt that there are plenty of racists in the FBI. Your average FBI agent is either a lawyer or an accountant by trade, and there aren’t many professions more dominated by white males than those. Most likely this claim of vets being white extremists is just projection. The FBI is made up of white male racists, so they think that any group that is paid by the government to use force is a bunch of white male racists.
This actually makes a lot of sense. We know that the Democrat party was founded and built on racism and sexism and has not changed to this very day. And we know that the FBI is being used as a tool by Democrats to attack conservatives. It should not surprise us that the law enforcement tool of the Democrat party is itself racist.
That being said, I have no doubt that there are many perfectly good decent FBI agents. But it has become apparent that the leadership of the FBI is driven purely by power politics and has no interest in enforcing ‘justice for all’. They are solely interested in ‘justice’ for Democrats and blame for Republicans. This was demonstrated during the Trump administration, and the many revelations now coming out in the Durham probe. And as the leadership goes, so goes the rank and file.
