Obama Knew: Obama the Teflon Don

Part 1 walked through what a great job Dan Bongino has done over the years becoming one of the leading voices of sanity for conservatives and bringing the fight to the looney left, while introducing my hypothesis that I believe Dan is wrong that there was no central coordinator or choreographer of the Russia Collusion Hoax against Trump-as I believe it was Obama. He was the one man who could have stopped it: but didn’t. Part 2 reviewed a few instances where Obama had a chance to do the right thing-but he repeatedly failed in that regard, as well as instances where he did the wrong thing-and lied about it, while his administration undertook actions they knew the American people and their representatives would not-under any circumstances- support. He then used the power of government to distort the facts, hide the truth, and use the LSMBTG* like a rented mule to delude and mask the truth from the public. Part 3 will explore more examples.

Fast and Furious was a bad start for the administration, I mean, how could things have started worse? By the time things settled down with the release of the Department of Justice, Office of Inspector General Report (DOJ OIG) it was already September 2012 and the scandal had taken nearly two years to run its course from when Agent Terry was killed. The OIG report resulted in somewhat of a pyrrhic administration victory that absolved AG Holder.

You likely noticed already, but the OBAMA administration delays-foot dragging-shining congress on-somewhat running out the clock on Fast and Furious-all things guaranteed to intensify an already somewhat tense relationship with congressional oversight-ran right up to 11 September 2012, a day that will live in infamy in American history and our foreign service annals.

Libyan terrorists-freedom fighters-characterize them as you will-I refer to them as the Islamic militant terrorist group Ansar-al-Sharia-sometimes referred to as an Al Qaeda affiliate-AQIL-which was formed in 2011 as an opposition group against Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi-attacked the American Diplomatic Compound in Benghazi, Libya, where Ambassador Stevens spent the day meeting with Turkish diplomats, about 2140 local time, killing US Libya Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens-the first death of a US Ambassador in the line of duty since Adolph Dub in 1979 in Iran-and US Foreign Information Management Officer Sean Smith.

They next turned their attention to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) annex a mile away, beginning an attack at ~0400 with grenades, mortars, rocket propelled grenades, truck mounted artillery, 14.5mm anti-aircraft machine guns, and automatic weaponry that was ultimately turned away by CIA contract security forces led by Mark “Oz” Geist (USMC,) Kris Paronto (former Army Ranger,) John “Tig” Tiegen (USMC,) Dave “Boon” Benton (USMC,) Jack Silva (former USN seal), but not before killing CIA security contractors and former USN seals Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty and wounding ten others.

No US help arrived at the beleaguered Diplomatic Compound or CIA Annex, in spite of attacks that went on for some nearly 13 hours. The bottom-line reason offered is there were no assets within a reasonable distance believed to be able to arrive in time to help. What infuriates me about this conclusion by people who were not on the ground-most of whom were in the cozy swamp in Washington DC-is that nobody had any idea how long the attack was going to last when it initiated-and no military planning assumptions I’ve ever been involved with considers or assumes an end time certain when assessing response options or potential defensive operations: at risk of coming across as a bit naïve, such a sentiment is almost anti-American, an insult to the Warfighter ethos.

It was telling that the attacking forces were able to use mortars-zero them in rapidly-and score direct hits inflicting grave and serious damage to the security force on the roof of the annex. If you’ve ever monkeyed with them on the range, trained military units would be challenged to achieve such precision against relatively unregistered targets in the dark, particularly from close range. This is not a skillset that some random group of rabble rousers would possess-nor do protestors usually bring mortar tubes, base plates, and mortar rounds to “nickel and dime” protests.

There were numerous, various, sundry and more congressional investigations of everything associated with the Benghazi attacks-hearings, chronicles, continuous bites at the Benghazi apple-~9 by the house and 1 by the senate, but in the final analysis nobody was held responsible but our “government.” Vox put together a nice website with Everything You Need to Know about Benghazi. One of the best and most harrowing accounts I’ve heard on the tactical fight and defense of the annex is an interview of CIA contract security officer Mark “Oz”’ Geist by noted financial advisor Charles Mizrahi. The movie 13 Hours is reportedly decent (but I haven’t seen it.)

Germane to my hypothesis is how the first reaction from Team Obama was straight out of the Dona’Linsky Regime Change Band playbook-lies to the public, distractions from the facts, play for time, stall, rinse and repeat-squirrel approach!

The first comments from the Obama administration used variations of several lies-including blaming the terrorist attack on an (1) spontaneous demonstration that got out hand (2) because of an anti-Muslim video related to Cairo demonstrations (3) not believed to be terrorism related (4) Ambassador Stevens had not been located.

When full details began leaking out that Stevens had been killed, as well as several others, the talented fiction writer Ben Rhodes used his magic to put together talking points (sent the afternoon of 14 September 2012) to mitigate the political fall-out and to help the LSMBTG help the administration message and tell the story “properly.”

That weekend-16 September 2012-noted storyteller UN Ambassador Susan Rice drew the short straw and made the rounds of the Sunday talk shows, spreading so much disinformation and lies around that it was likely the main reason she would later be roundly rejected as a candidate for Secretary of State. By the time Rice appeared with friendly administration supporter Jake Tapper, it had been nearly five days-the Libya foreign affairs minister had labeled it a terrorist attack immediately-and so had many of our allies and friends.

And so-strangely enough-had HRC-and CIA Director David Petraeus. Yet Rice was focused on spreading the narrative about the anti-Muslim video almost a week after the attack, when firsthand reporting had been received and assessed that clearly indicated otherwise.

Still-it would take over a week for administration officials Obama, HRC, Rice and others to begin to publicly acknowledge what everyone else knew by then: that it was a terrorist attack. But they still mentioned the video as an excuse that it was predicated upon-despite no evidence that such was the case.

Later in July 2014 Ahmed Abu Khattala was tried in US courts for his involvement in the attack. Court documents would prove categorically that this was a premeditated and preplanned 9-11 anniversary linked terrorist attack against the US Compound and CIA Annex, debunking the narrative of any link to the Cairo demonstrations video. That did not stop some of the Obama administration officials-such as HRC-from continuing to tout a narrative they made up as a distraction-to water down the idea of a terrorist attack on their watch and the killing of US Ambassador Stevens.

The most damning part of it all was the Obama administration’s failure to compile the facts to inform the American people on what they knew. HRC’s initial emails on the attack were particularly telling, as on the night of the attack, she sent an email to her daughter (alias Diane Reynolds in HRCs email world) lamenting that several American “officers were killed in Benghazi by an Al Qaeda-like group.” The next morning, she sent the following assessment to a top Egyptian diplomat: “We know that the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack — not a protest.”

And yet when she attended the 14 September 2012 Andrews Air Force Base solemn ceremony for the fallen, she told the parents “We are going to have the film maker arrested who was responsible for the death of your son.”

Many of us in the business at the time knew this was terrorists within minutes of hearing about it. One look at your watch-mine didn’t say there were 51 days until an election-it said it was taking place on my friend’s son’s birthday-the 11^th anniversary of 9-11 in a place that had been rendered near ungovernable-the wild west-by the Obama administration, HRC and her “crew” led by Sid “the snake” Blumenthal, he who shall not be hired.

IC reporting that day mentioned some US embassy rumblings around the Middle East caused by the video, but none of it tied to the actions in Benghazi-based on reporting by Ambassador Stevens.

I don’t think we have to wonder what Trump would have done either before, during or after this terrorist attack. At the very least we would know whether forces could have made it in time or not: we do know that forces not deployed never make it on time-like in golf-100% of putts that don’t get to the hole, don’t go in…100%.

You can certainly draw your own conclusions-and many did. I did not get into the speculation of where Obama was and when he heard about it, etc. But the bottom line here is we had two stark examples with Fast and Furious and Benghazi that demonstrated the Obama administration’s seeming inability to be honest and truthful with the American people: one job.

The president leads this band and is responsible for everything they do or fail to do. Ask GEN Stanley McCrystal or LTG Michael Flynn.

What could be worse or more categoric than these two examples you might ask? Funny you should ask.

The cheekiest and longest running lies from the Obama administration-but mainly straight from the lips of the man himself-most certainly relate to the Affordable Care Act (ACA.) The lies started before his election-gained momentum shortly thereafter when he first announced it as an administration priority, and from that point forward he was in full throated slinging bs mode right on past his reelection to the point where the facts could no longer be denied: an unprecedented period of lies.

In the context of the scandals and lies of the Obama administration—as much as I would like to focus on it-the ACA lies will not likely make the top 10-maybe not even the top 15!

But the next big canine equestrian lie fest by Obama was a doozy to end all doozies until the later Ukraine meddling and Russia, Russia, Russia Pee Pee Hoax. Although this doozy lie fest up next was just coming to fruition as the Russia hoax was going mainstream.

Polls are conducted all the time for myriad aspects of life. The results are often surprising-sometimes disconcerting for politicians and those looking to gain traction with the public or a demographic group. It always struck me as humorous and a bit disturbing that many when polled would acknowledge they believe in the “boogey man,” or when cockroaches poll higher than politicians or congress or the DMV.

Just behind these two (boogey man and cockroaches) in the consciousness of Americans when Obama was taking office was the nation of Iran, one of President Bush’s “Axis of evil” members. Americans are generally a charitable bunch who will eventually forgive and forget just about anything-let bygones be bygones-but polls at the time indicated it was still too soon for Iran: a 2008 Gallup Poll indicated an 8% favorable and 88% unfavorable view of Iran. At a time when cockroaches were coming in ~13% and congress not much higher: but it depended on the week.

So you wouldn’t think-would never guess-that one of the unstated priority items for “the most transparent administration in the history of the US”-who would certainly be aware of such a poll given the presence of senior advisor and Persian Farsi speaker Ms. Valerie Jarret on staff-would be to cultivate secret negotiations with Iran on nuclear developments, defying logic and reason and any sense of who the president works for-in the final analysis.

You would be wrong! Somewhere at the end of the Fast and Furious debacle, perhaps shortly after the Benghazi debacle, the Obama administration began secret talks with Iran in Oman about nuclear weapons developments. I guess when in turbulent waters-point it straight and gun the engine!

What would have made this story even more impossible to imagine or believe at the time is that the LSMBTG was harping on a message that still focused on undoing-to a degree and moreso-undermining a growing narrative of Obama who was emerging in public sentiment as somewhat of an anti-American and someone who just seemed to be a little bit too cozy with enemies and frenemies alike. Much of which stemmed from what was derisively referred to as his “apology tour,” where he took it upon himself to be the Apologist in Chief during trips abroad that had many wondering, what Americans is he representing on these trips?

With many Americans being the offspring of the “greatest generation,” while others having done their time in service to this nation in whatever capacity they were called upon to do-Korea, Congo, Vietnam, Panama, Gulf War, etc., it was a bit much to wake up to have an American President acting like he had been empowered on our behalf to apologize to the world. Granted there was somewhat of a muting of sorts over the patriotic fervor that characterized America after 9-11 that gave way to somewhat of a grudging tolerance for Obama after a slugfest of a campaign.

But with what seemed to be a never-ending stream of bad-or simply unlucky incidents or events that exposed Obama and his administration in the worst possible light imaginable, it would have been pure red meat for critics should it prove true that Obama had initiated talks with the still-hated Iran, in secret.

Obama was neck deep in the swamp and he well knew it. He was too smart to have believed for very long-if at all-that congress, the LSMBTG or friends and frenemies wouldn’t shortly find out about this activity. The rumors started just as you might expect they might-and this is where we start to see the emergence of some of the same characters involved in these lie-fests.

Keep in mind as we go through this that the Iran regime in question at the time had elected Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as president, who spewed anti-American and anti-Israeli vitriol for breakfast, as easily as breathing air.

The Quds Force, later Iranian Republican Guards Corps-was responsible for thousands of US deaths and wounded over the years as they developed sophisticated technology to perfect vehicle improvised explosive devices that would trigger off cell phones, incorporate shape charges to penetrate improved vehicle armor, begin to use components that US mine detectors could not discern, incorporate sophisticated fusing with magnesium-or simply use buried 122 or 152/155 millimeter howitzer shells-the bigger bomb theory- remotely detonated that were impossibly cruel and inhuman to soldiers and civilians alike. It was not hyperbole to label them the worlds leading agent of terror.

It was the same Iran that decreed a “Fatwa” or death sentence on Salmon Rushdie over Satanic Verses, menaced the gulf with indigenous C-402 shore and ship-based cruise missiles, fabricated multi-engine souped up jet skis capable of tending and deploying mines-or serving as suicide attack platforms, and continued an aggressive nuclear research and development program that was aided along by that other bastion of world citizenry, Pyongyang.

Amidst evidence that sanctions were working, economic pressure was increasing on the regime based on continued unrest among the youth in Iran, why wouldn’t the Obama administration undertake secret negotiations with the Iranians without informing congress?

On some planet in some far away land this scheme might have been viewed in a more favorable light as a bold, statesmanship-like initiative in the best traditions of American statecraft working towards peace at any and all cost. But the real story is how Obama and his imaginative fiction writer-Rhodes-made up a narrative, packaged it and then spoon fed it to the LSMBTG to carry their water for them to the American people-communicating through deceit, lies and fabricated tales of Iranian moderates in the midst of a regime that was hell bent on a two track message-like a one-trick pony, based on “death to America” and the annihilation of the Jewish state-Israeli-as the “one state solution” to the Palestinian problem: that is the real scandal to review.
