Each American generation has had good and bad things happen during their lives. For those who were born in the 20th century it was quite a challenge to deal with one or two world wars, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Bay of Pigs, assassination of John F. Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King, and then see society basically delaminate as Vietnam drew down. That was a rough century for many, but America stood up to the challenge and seemed to enter the 21st century all the stronger for all that strife and bickering and the race issues that seemed to be settled.
Prior to 9-11 several things stood out as really bad events, not the least of which was the embarrassment we suffered in Iran where we seemingly could do nothing about it, as our feckless government increasingly spent time wringing their hands. The continuation of which would have been preferable to the abortion of an attempted rescue that was botched, disastrous and mortifying: it had been a long time since we had been exposed as abjectly feckless. One of the worst things that happened included the Palestinian attack on the Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. Even with the German atrocities in WWII and all the heinous crimes throughout the century, it is difficult to imagine a more criminal, demented and horrible act than what the Palestinian Liberation Front did at the Olympics that year.
Fast forward to the 21st Century and we somehow find many-particularly democrats-embracing the Palestinian cause and sniping at our only friend in the Middle East to show “more compromise.” Nobody was worse for Israel relations than Barack Obama, but Clinton before him was at least terrible and George Bush was no bargain.
9-11 was one of the worst things ever that made a lot of the terrible things that happened in the 20th Century pale in comparison, even world wars and assassinations.
But some are a bit hyperbolic about that event and it pales in comparison to the lost Americans in the Civil War or either World War, or Korea or Vietnam (for instance.) But those were military battles fought by military forces and don’t compare to the slaughter of American civilians by in effect, barbarians. Our National Security apparatus let us down over 9-11 and that failure would still be on the minds of many had we not had a worst failure since.
Some might think Afghanistan or the ongoing Ukraine debacle that seems to have marginalized America and exposed greater malfeasance than was ever exhibited over the Iran hostages, is epic fecklessness.
It seems somewhat crazy to say that some of the delusional society policy and the election shenanigans in the last 12 years is possibly worse than any of the above events, since we are not talking widespread death, wars, or international strife. Where does all this zany COVID policy and election malfeasance rank in the scheme of the above death tolls from war?
The combination of zany government COVID policy, lies, distortions, faux mandates, restrictive fiats placed upon a populous that was rendered sheep-like in the face of control that brought the world’s largest economy to its knees, is the worst thing that has ever happened to this country.
Except for the stolen presidential election of 2020.
Trump got the most votes in the history of presidential elections and broke records for a sitting president running for reelection. And yet we are to believe that Joe Biden received over 80 million votes: Joe Biden.
What makes this stolen election worse is obviously what Biden has done since he took office and only now does it seem like some are waking up to the idea that this is all one big nightmare of a mistake for America.
With all the foibles, budget stupidity, gender, race baiting and malfeasance of our national agencies under Obama, it was and is hard to believe that Biden could be worse by orders of magnitude, a disaster much rottener and gut and soul destroying, even faster than Obama. But it is so.
Obama set new records for out-of-control spending that made Bush seem a lightweight: Biden makes both look like pikers in comparison. Trump was no slouch when it came to spending, but it is hard to argue with his economic results and the positive tax revenue that ensued. While Biden seems content to embrace a Soviet style tactic of redefining failure, down, as the increasingly dogmatic policies which seemed destined to fail, do, while the Washington swamp elite seems embroiled in navel gazing and delusional crafting of ways to “spend their way out of it.”
Biden has described the fact that inflation remained the same-or dropped a decimal point month to month as equivalent to “zero inflation,” which reveals some kind of delusion prevalent in DC these days and nowhere else on the planet. Just imagine hearing the weather forecast in terms of a change from yesterday, describing it as “not cold” since it is actually warmer by 1 degree in comparison to yesterday’s minus 8….
Worse yet is the LSMBTG* aiding and abetting this madness, increasingly embroiled in a game of “hide or ignore the obvious,” reticent to observe the lack of clothes of the emperor as he rambles around the white house like some Benny Hill character or perhaps a Red Skelton schtick. Or the lack of-pick one-talent, aptitude, qualification, capability-or hell, use all of them-of the Vice President as she blunders from speaking opportunity to speaking opportunity, producing cringeworthy material along the way that ceased to be ironic, humorous or tragic a year or more ago and is now just full out cringe.
I wrote a series of articles to set up how bad it could get under a Biden presidency that I titled Globalist Folly as Fashion Back in Style in the Swamp and I have to acknowledge that as bad as I thought it could get under Biden as he brought Obama-JV acolytes back into government and elevated them to the varsity team, while he applied his terrible judgement and spin to bear on policy, direction and actions, I greatly underestimated how badly our government would run under him, so soon.
He has the reverse Midas-touch we used to speak of in the military, where some troops are just cursed with the poop stick: where everything they do, touch or get involved with turns to poop. Much like Biden, many troops bring it on themselves by being bad judges of people, relying on many who are incapable of reaching the pedals, choosing people to help who need help themselves and in the end creating so much havoc and chaos as to make it impossible to make the trains run.
When something like this happens in the military it eventually becomes obvious to all and leadership changes are made, inspector general’s get involved, houses are cleaned up, disinfectant is applied, and we go on about the business, of business. We’ve had dreadful presidents before and as bad a job as they might do, we are a big country and can recover fairly quick from even the most egregious leadership. Think about the damage Jimmy Carter managed to do in four seemingly short years. One of the things that was slowest to recover for many of us was the economy. As late as 1989 there were still mortgages as high as 14% with little relief in sight for many. In the military we simply did not make enough to just refinance such a mortgage, particularly those of us who came from overseas into such a horrendous market, at posts where everybody and their brother was willing to live on post all of a sudden.
What seems different this time is how little consensus there is about the problems we have-particularly regarding the economy- and some of the loony policies being promoted by the left. The combination of social, LGBTQ+, medical, economic, green stupidity and race strife and the disconnects from reality are really disheartening and are going to be difficult to think or smart our way out of when you consider that so many of these problems are so obviously big and blinding flashes of the obvious, but the obvious-much like common sense-does not seem so or available to a majority of Americans right now.
I was headed into town with my wife this week at oh dark thirty and on our road where maybe 100 cars pass through during what would constitute “rush hour” from 0630-0800, we passed by a car rolled over on its top-in a ditch-with 3 police cars on the scene. A young person was by the car on a cell phone. Nobody appeared to be hurt and it epitomized for me what is going on in America today. If things get going too well, we have to be careful else we don’t pay attention and we drive off the road into a ditch for no good reason. Whether the border, economy, COVID/MonkeypoX/CrazyPOX/Fentanyl, America seems more than content and capable at this point to drive itself into a ditch and produce a one car wreck out of nowhere.
Responsible adults prevent things like this from happening and with the election coming up, we have to hope enough of them are available and show up, so we get things back on track. I am an optimistic pessimist right now, as it is pretty obvious why congress and many of our political leaders are neck and neck in the popularity category with cockroaches at this point.
Perhaps this too shall pass, much like Jimmy Carter’s incompetence. I want to return to my previous articles about FBI malfeasance as symptomatic about what is wrong with our country right now in the coming weeks leading up to the election. I find it astounding that the FBI-our government-is getting away with holding people’s clearances over their heads as an excuse to keep them from doing work and from getting paid: just unconscionable.

Joe Biden was sent to the White House to send us a message. And the message was backed up by his pick for VP, just so we know who the boss is, and will be. The message was “You will put up with us, whether you like it or not, and you will eventually be happy, because we are your rulers.”
We got the message. It’s the how we deal with it that bothers me.
Say we win back both remnants of Congress. It is only a stop sign, and a temporary one, and may get unraveled by the constant lies and droning on about how Republicans ruined the left’s plans, so-called good ideas. We saw the same things in the Carter, Clinton, Bush(both), Obama and Biden administrations. Bushes supposedly being the outlier, but both were more Democrat than their peers on the right. When people see themes and don’t see the big picture, it has to be something like the media extending on the lies. They are the true enemies. They chose sides, and it is the evilness of all the accumulated lies and propaganda that has caused our demise.
Consider all the lies, cheating and media collusion, and that is a huge undertaking for us. It resulted in Biden essentially being our prison warden for four years, while someone tells him what to do, after his ice cream and nap.
We weren’t responsible enough to look and see what has been happening, and acting on it when it was fixable.
It will take more than just winning elections. The left has been engaged in a war against us, and we have been letting them win battles by not even fighting. A war is in our future, and right here at home. We just haven’t acknowledged the war we are already being beat by.
Thanks for reading Mark. I think Bongino has it right-we think Dems are good people with bad ideas, they think we are bad people….You can’t win a battle you are not willing to or don’t think is worth fighting. Politicians- for at least most of the 21st century thus far- have moved away-for the most part-with standing on principle when it is clear they will lose the fight/vote: that is a problem. With very few exceptions republicans have been unwilling to force a vote on things they know are currently unwinnable in the congress. I’m not a big fan of show votes that are a waste of time and effort-but I think it is important to make policy statements and principle votes-the definition of the term-expose and out-aberrant and deviant thoughts and beliefs- wherever they are found. You don’t only wage battles you can win and this idea of only fighting the winnable battles is what has cleared the democrat middle better than roundup when it comes to issues like abortion, children and LGBTQ issues, parental rights for same, green stupidity and the economy. When republican leaders put no value and act and talk and treat members like it is a waste of time to pursue unwinnable issues- that is a problem and has to change. It seems like the idea of “principles” went out of fashion with the McConnel leadership team.
It is also unbelievable what McConnel is doing to republican candidates in places like Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, etc. When the state republican (or democrat) party picks and endorses a candidate, in places like Alaska and Arizona-where does the leader come off going against the state? We should revert back to the policy that the state nominates and selects their senate representative. Who the hell is McConnel to pursue actions like this???
Then there is Mittens-what a useless piece of dung he has turned out to be-but we knew that-and he exposed himself myriad times as somewhat of a generic-convenient-tetrahedron R.
War is right and we need to engage and it needs to be won. The future of our country is at stake!
Many have dismissed the strong tendency of DJT to always fight over issues-not matter how big or small-which most politicians don’t have the energy, patience or appetite to do-you can argue that he should fight less-but it is what he does-it is his best attribute-and I would prefer to have somebody who gives no quarter-every time-every issue-than somebody who does not stand on principal unless the winds happen to be favorable.
