Six Ongoing Cataclysms in America, Part I; Foundational threats to the American Republic from the US political class
Widespread news reports over the past several months point to a confluence of at least six cataclysms facing Americans as a direct result of actions taken by the US political class. A cataclysm is defined here as a “catastrophe,” “a momentous and violent event marked by overwhelming upheaval and demolition,” and “an event that brings great changes.”
Part I examines the first three on the list to see if those definitions.
Cultural Marxism. Karl Marx sought to destroy the family, individuality, and “certain truths” such as Judeo-Christian values, as noted here; his ideological descendants in the US political class are hard at work toward those ends, with cataclysmic implications for traditional American values, culture, and society at large. Cultural Marxism is on the march throughout the US in capacities unimaginable just a few short years ago, including so-called critical race theory and transgender activism. In one of Joe Biden’s first executive orders, he telegraphed “an ambitious, whole-of-government initiative that will take a systematic approach to embedding DEIA [diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility] in Federal hiring and employment practices.” Merit – a foundational engine of free enterprise and American-style capitalism along with entrepreneurialism – has traditionally been based on individual accomplishment, not on identity politics. DEIA is Marxist group-think that replaces merit and individuality with identity-driven selections in favor of designated victims’ groups. The latest result of that EO is the Dept of Education pushing a regulation that alters the grant approval process for American History and Civics Education programs in order “to support the development of culturally responsive teaching and learning” (“culturally responsive” being a code phrase for DEIA and critical race theory considerations). This is group-think über alles.
At the same time, normalizing the LGBTQ+ agenda has been a policy goal of the Democrat Party for decades, first through support for homosexual marriage and now through administrative state actions to advance the radical transsexual agenda. As reported by Fox News, during a congressional hearing “Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra appeared to express support on Wednesday for taxpayer funds being spent on gender reassignment surgeries on children.” The hearing was held to examine new HHS documents focused on “gender affirming care for young people.” HHS is now pushing truly revolutionary policies and regulations for so-called “transgender adolescents,” including: “‘Top’ surgery – to create male-typical chest shape or enhance breasts;” and “‘Bottom’ surgery – surgery on genitals or reproductive organs, facial feminization or other procedures.”
This truly shocking transgender advocacy through the federal administrative state is just the latest assault on the nuclear family, which has been the foundation of Western civilization (including the US) by providing lasting organizing principles and a moral underpinning. Transgenderism has also filtered down to the states, as noted by Fox News: “New Jersey public school second graders will be getting lessons related to gender identity this fall under state sex education guidelines.” Elements of the political class seek to displace the role of parents in order to convey state-approved gender messaging to minor children. The twin pillars of desecration of Judeo-Christian values and destabilization of America’s cultural institutions, as well as basic science, are being undermined by elements of the US political class at all levels of government. The consequences of LGBTQ+ activism are dire for Judeo-Christian values and American society in general, and, if allowed to propagate unhindered, will lead to disturbing fundamental changes in the American Republic.
Green New Deal. The goals of the Green New Deal proposed by radical environmental activists include achieving so-called “net-zero greenhouse gas emissions” and conversion of US energy production to “100 percent renewable energy.” Net zero emissions means achieving “an overall balance between greenhouse gas emissions produced and greenhouse gas emissions taken out of the atmosphere.” The premise behind the GND is that human-generated carbon dioxide emissions have caused all global warming since 1820, that warming has caused all kinds of evolving problems (everything bad is blamed on “global warming”), and that all these bad things can be stopped if we end the use of carbon-based fuels and start paying carbon taxes. The carbon (and other) taxes are intended to fund massive public investments in carbon neutral technologies, such as renewable power, clean energy manufacturing, zero-emission transportation, and sustainable farming. Carbon neutral refers to a manufacturing, energy production, or energy use process “having or resulting in no net addition of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.”
The political problem for environmentalists and GND supporters is that the premise itself has never been proven. To the contrary, one recent study examined the total atmospheric CO2 concentration of human-generated sources from the beginning of the Industrial Age in 1750 to the present. The report, entitled “World Atmospheric CO2, Its 14C Specific Activity, Non-fossil Component, Anthropogenic Fossil Component, and Emissions (1750–2018),” concludes (emphasis added): “Our results show that the percentage of the total CO2 due to the use of fossil fuels from 1750 to 2018 increased from 0% in 1750 to 12% in 2018, much too low to be the cause of global warming.”
Despite the lack of any real proof of the premise that environmentalists now claim has been elevated to a “climate crisis,” Green New Deal goals and concepts infuse all of the Biden administration’s whole-of-government effort to tackle the “climate crisis” in order to achieve an 80 percent “clean energy” grid by 2030 and a 100 percent “clean energy” grid by 2035, as noted here. These efforts include the December 2021 executive order that directs the federal government to use its procurement power to achieve five net-zero goals for all federal agencies, the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Summary, which is stuffed with $500 billion for GND investment priorities, the termination of the Keystone XL pipeline, and the ending of oil and gas exploration in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge. And in the face of skyrocketing gasoline prices, Biden stubbornly refuses to increase domestic energy production because that would undermine transitioning to green technologies that is widely supported by congressional Democrats.
The $500 billion is merely a down-payment on the GND, which is estimated to cost nearly $93 trillion to fully implement. Replacing oil, gas, and nuclear energy sources with green energy substitutes are decades away from being technologically feasible. And for what? The Heartland Institute summarizes what the GND – if fully implemented – would mean for the average American: “[T]he GND would force every American to replace their gasoline and diesel cars and trucks with expensive short-haul electric vehicles; their gas furnaces and stoves with electric systems; their home, local and state electrical and transmission systems with expensive upgrades that can handle a totally electric economy. They’ll see their landscapes, coastlines and wildlife habitats blanketed with wind turbines, solar panels, transmission lines and warehouses filled with thousands of half-ton batteries.”
Full GND implementation would lead to economic destabilization by disrupting every sector of the US economy and could only be brought about through government mandates divined by the US political class. A cataclysm to be avoided!
Open Borders. The Biden administration has refused to enforce existing US immigration laws, which has led to a flood of illegal aliens across the US-Mexico border since January 2021. The numbers are staggering: 2,000,000 illegals total in 2021, with over 1,000,000 added so far in 2022. According to news reports, that flood is expected to massively increase: “The Department of Homeland Security is bracing for as many as 18,000 migrants per day at the southern border if Title 42 is revoked.” Title 42 is a clause of the 1944 Public Health Services Law that the Trump Administration used to quickly expel illegal aliens from the US during the pandemic due to the high probability of them introducing communicable diseases into the country. Title 42 enforcement is one of the few bulwarks remaining that prevents the truly open southern border sought by the Democrat Party. Eighteen thousand illegal aliens per day is nearly twice the US birth rate of 9,000 per day in 2020, per the CDC! That would work out to over 6.5 million illegals crossing the border in a single year.
Biden administration “immigration policy” amounts to nominal apprehension at the border with minimal to no public health screening; taxpayer-provided temporary housing in hotels; free transportation, healthcare, legal services, and career and educational services; and instant rubberstamping of asylum claims on the border. Millions of people are willing to brave the cartels and the human traffickers to take that deal courtesy of Uncle Sam!
The Biden administration faces a dilemma. Repealing Title 42 implementation would be interpreted by many to mean that the national health emergency associated with the COVID “pandemic” no longer exists, thereby removing the associated emergency powers granted to the federal and state governments for implementing vaccine and mask mandates and economic lockdowns – also top domestic policy priorities for the Democrat Party.
Illegal aliens in great numbers destabilize the country by creating long-term problems that are expensive to solve: communicable diseases, increased crime rates (especially narcotics and human trafficking), 100,000 fentanyl deaths in 2021 alone, welfare dependency, excessive strains on public health and education services, and competition for unskilled jobs. Adding 6.5 million new illegal aliens per year is nothing if not a cataclysm of seismic proportions.
Concluding Thoughts for Part I. Induced by the US political class, Cultural Marxism, the Green New Deal, Open Borders each conform to the definition of cataclysm: a catastrophe, a momentous and violent event marked by overwhelming upheaval and demolition, and/or an event that brings great changes. Each by itself is destabilizing the country in dramatic fashion in terms of great changes and deleterious effects on the American economy, culture, constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, values, politics, crime rates, law enforcement, institutions, and society in general. All three together present nothing short of a collective existential threat to the American Republic as created by the Founders. All brought to your doorstep by the US political class, intentionally.

All this is for the sole purpose of creating that utopian ideal of totalitarianism, which, in other words is another ruler, and has nothing to do with the parts it is made up of, but the parts are those means to the end. If you take the individual parts of those so-called ideals, all you really end up seeing is destruction, which is another way of saying what the marxist is after: death to those who will not follow the tyrant.
The leftist, if they ever examine what Marx was really saying, only wants to be the last one dying, because that is all it does. Death is always going to be the conclusion, as long as the writings of Marx are forced upon society.
When you add up the pile of corpses that marxism stacked up, in the 20th century, about 100 million or more, not counting all the babies it also killed in the US, another 63 million, at least, all you see is that they are just getting started.
