Firearms: The Most Controversial Tool

Firearms. When you want to talk about a contentious subject, with a lefty, that’s my go to topic. If that isn’t enough, it’s that pro-abortion topic. But since the left tries so hard to make the tool illegal, and I just love my collection of tools, that’s where I will argue until they want to take to swinging because they and I know exactly the value of that particular tool. Nope, not Vise Grips, nor Snap-On. Winchester, Armalite, Colt, Smith and Wesson, Rock Island, Glock and Kimber. The tools that will win our freedom from all the left’s bloviation, in their quest to rid America of them. Not because they want to get rid of them, but because they want to be the ones who have them. It is as simple as that.

Can you imagine if there were no firearms when the American Revolution began? I can’t either. I sure can’t imagine using swords and knives. It is said by some that the ancient Chinese created gun powder, so we can’t be blamed on that. Our first firearms came from across the pond, because we didn’t have the tool works and milling to be able to make our own firearms. It took a while for us to get the furnace capability to make iron, much less steel, so we can’t even be blamed on that, until those kind of places showed up on our shores. What we did, however, was take the tools we bought and made better firearms than the rest of the world. I wonder if that’s why the left wants us to be rid of firearms? Just kidding.

No, firearms became the boogeyman after a lot else happened, like an ideology that was imported from across the same pond, which showed the left how to appreciate and create governmental monopolies, and eventually become this one big nanny state. Firearms in the control of only the government is like giving Goliath David’s slingshot. When the government controls firearms, it controls you. The ideology was like a virus that went unchecked. You should see the masks they had back then.

Alexander Hamilton thought that there was no need, and that a Bill of Rights was potentially more dangerous, and that things, like the 2nd Amendment should have been an enumerated right, that would not let the states make their own gun laws. James Madison wanted the Bill of Rights to be used to keep the states in check, keep them from making their own gun laws by having a superior federal government. I’m still wondering which was better. All that will eventually be solved when the Supreme Court uses it’s sword, called New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v Bruen, against the National Firearms Act, and all subsequent gun control laws, and that will happen.

The left’s quest to get rid of firearms just gets rolling from the National Firearms Act of 1934, by that so-called legend of a president Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and has had a shield to protect it from challenge, from its inception, until now, when an originalist Supreme Court finally rode in to town, and all those thanks go to a most controversial president, who I thought was just fine, but he will live in more infamy than words uttered by FDR: Donald John Trump, because even people with rational minds can go off on a rant about just how they couldn’t stand him. So, if the economy, fuel prices, lower taxes, and all the other things he accomplished don’t seem to quench your thirst for having a good president, and personalities are the important topic, than you have yet to understand the importance he had with our federal judiciary.

Solidifying and securing the 2nd Amendment, from all the abuses that others have not seen, and are not close to being abused nearly as if there wasn’t a 2nd Amendment to protect them, being protected by the decision that Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in one decision that may eventually save our nation, is something that you just don’t see very often. The Dobbs decision pales in comparison, because the Dobbs decision did not make abortions illegal. It just paved the way for states to make their own laws, and perhaps Dobbs is a stepping stone to eventually stopping murdering babies, but it still isn’t there. Bruen is worded so well that a Tennessee superior court, the judge being a well known Democrat, ruled in favor of the 2nd Amendment when he decided that the right to keep and bear arms cannot be infringed by a contract between a landlord and a tenant. That’s saying a lot for a Democrat, if that Bruen decision kept the leftist gun control impulse from his decision.

No more Chevron deference, meaning that government is essentially given the benefit of the doubt. Gone. Also gone is the idea that the public good dictates over and above the individual rights of man. Gone! Gun controllers have to go to the wayback machine and discover some law made around 1791 to show that gun control existed during the time that the Constitution was written, which is a very tall task for anyone to do. I can’t wait to hear the left’s latest attempt there.

The left has tried to manipulate facts about the crime statistics as their mainstay for robbing us of our guns, all along the way, and they have only succeeded doing that with those groups who have been put in hypnotic trance, or by those emotional remnants of heinous crimes, who can’t see that it was not the gun but the person who killed their loved one, all the way up to and including the JFK assassination, and his younger brother Bobby. But the left can’t seem to hold on to the argument that crime can be controlled by taking guns out of our hands, and they have demonstrated by their actions and attitudes that that is absolutely the sole value they have in gun control. It has nothing at all to do with crime.

In fact, if not for the media doing a blackout every time a good guy comes along with a gun and disables or kills a bad guy with a gun, we might hear about thousands more examples of good uses of tools in the hands of good people, taking the trash out. At least in one Indianapolis suburb, it became the local affiliates of the corporate media who found themselves with the wrong narrative and they had to run with the story of that good guy killing the bad guy with his tool. Rare account, but did it make it past the affiliates? Every year, there are thousands of instances where a good guy, or gal, defends his or herself, or others from a bad guy, and it never gets the attention it deserves.

There are several challenges to the current group of gun control laws that, if allowed to blossom into what Bruen began, and becomes that beautiful flower that flows freely in our country, we will be able to have all those evil tools that the NFA strictly forbids. You can’t say that it only regulates and taxes the right because of the Hughes Amendment, and the fact that it is a blatant registry, a list for them to come and use to take all the rest from us by. The good news is that, even the ATF(Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) know they are losing their arguments. The bad news is that the same ATF, along with the Justice Department, has not given up, and have gone to using some very clever, yet ridiculous arguments to back up their claims and actions.

Then, and only then, can we have some idiotic argument about how so much more dangerous one firearm is over another firearm. Because the tools of war are varied and categorized as to lethality, but the one thing they all have in common is that they are all tools, and tools are meant to fix things. I can’t wait to have that argument with a lefty.

I’d much rather stick the barrel of a gun in the face of a politician who tries to rob me of my freedom than have the argument, just so you know how I really stand. Because he is tyranny, and I hate tyrants. I also love all my tools, even the ones that say Snap-On, and they are so expensive as to have that need to own the firearm tool, just to keep someone from stealing that other tool.

The only way we will lose this ongoing battle, is 1), if we quit fighting, or 2) the government goes full tyrannical and starts packing the Supreme Court, or just threatens the Court like FDR did. Our Supreme Court is on the side of freedom and protection of all the rights granted from God, and is on the best shape to perform their role as it has been in my lifetime. They need our undying support. Watch how crime will go down when we win this battle. It’s never been about crime, but the prevention of tyranny that the left hates.
