I grew up in a large Irish Catholic family. We were not rich. Clothes were hand me downs or from the local thrift shop. Which was okay because we lived in a pretty nice neighborhood. And if you didn’t know it, rich people change their clothes like changing their minds. So, if you go to the right thrift shops at the right time, you might find absolutely anything you could ever want. And that all rubbed off on me. I haven’t bought retail clothing in forty years. True I am an “Earth First” bastard and I always do my part to reduce land fill levels. That and I don’t see the point in spending $100 for a pair of pants that cost me $5.95 at Salvation Army or $1.95 at the Goodwill outlet. I mean, I still have a beach house to build…you know what I’m saying? All that said, stop me if you heard this “urban legend.”

A few years back I got onto a Conservative website that linked me to another site…and I was “transported” to a You-Tube video. A retired KGB agent delivered a “long dissertation” on Joseph Stalin’s “long game.” Here is the skinny.

Long before Ronald Reagan and George H. Bush dubbed Russia, Iran and North Korea the “axis of evil,” Stalin and Russian leadership knew full well they could not possibly topple the United States in a direct military conflict. This Russian fear had little to do with our enormous capacity to create “modern weapons” to conduct strategic, pinpoint strikes against our enemies…anywhere in the world. If you did not know it, before John F. Kennedy in acted the nuclear weapons test ban treaty, our Military Industrial Complex (MIC) had successfully figured our many, many ways to deliver nuclear weapons on any target of our choosing and to do so at any time.

To bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we developed a long-range bomber. Boeing’s B-29 was a modern marvel with a pressurized cabin for the crew. The bomber could inflict incredible damage and project power with an enormous pay load for hundreds of miles. Success. But between 1945 and 1962, the Nazi rocket scientist we imported to White Stands Missile Base (Texas), showed us many, many ways to deliver nuclear weapons. Atmospheric explosions in the Pacific islands could produce an electro-magnetic pulse that could be measured a thousand miles away in Hawaii. In Colorado and Nevada, the “MIC” detonated atmospheric and underground weapons with ever increasing destructive power. And probably just as important, our military learned how to deliver the higher yield weapons in new and amazing ways, i.e:

1. Missile launch from a plane
2. Missile launch from a surface ship
3. Missile launch from a submarine
4. Missile launch from a continent
5. Artillery shell delivery on a conventional battlefield
6. Nuclear tipped torpedo from a submarine.

Again, the Russians don’t fear us because we have nuclear weapons…because today, and ever since October of 1962, it is believed U.S. and Russian forces are at a nuclear stalemate.

The “MAD” strategy (Mutual Assured Destruction) means neither party has a “first launch” advantage…when the defensive response strike could wipe out cities and/or military installations. Prior to his sworn in date, JFK learned about this “MAD” strategy in private meetings with Eisenhower. And while Eisenhower warned every American about the danger of a permanent war industry, i.e. the Military Industrial Complex, today, we laugh off such a comment and label the “MIC fanatic” as a member of the “tin foil hat crowd” or best of all, a “Conspiracy Nut.” Was Eisenhower a “Conspiracy Nut” or was he the victorious “Supreme Leader”
of Allied Forces in Europe, speaking from his long military experience and eight years in the White House?

If you want to know more about Eisenhower, JFK and the “MIC,” I STRONGLY urge you to go to Amazon and get your own copy of “Unspeakable.” In it you will learn a great deal about the events of November 22, 1963…AND you will learn that Curtis LeMay and other WWII generals were in favor of a first strike attack on Russia, early in Kennedy administration, while we “still had a tactical advantage.” With his brother Bobby in the room, Kennedy asked LeMay how many civilian Americans would die in the counter strike. LeMay said ’30 million, maybe 40’ but it was WORTH IT, to end the Russian nuclear threat.

Curtis LeMay, chief of staff of the Air Force.  He told her a nuclear war was inevitable.  It would begin in December and be all over by the first of the year.  In that interval, every major American city — Washington, New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles — would be reduced to rubble.  Similarly, the principal cities of the Soviet Union would be destroyed.  The lady, as she tells it, asked if there were any place where she could take her children and grandchildren to safety; the general would, of course, at the first alert be inside the top-secret underground hideout near Washington from which the retaliatory strike would be directed.  He told her that certain unpopulated areas in the far west would be safest.”  –Marquis Childs, nationally syndicated columnist, Washington Post, 19 July 1961

Kennedy thought perhaps LeMay had lost his mind. Or, had the hundreds of thousands of Americans who died on the white sand beaches in the Atlantic and the black sand beaches of the Pacific, had “their sacrifice” become acceptable to military men like LeMay? And it is “this sacrifice” from where my “Russian Fear” argument comes from. Bet before we get there, the Russians know all about “sacrifice.”

For generations, Russian military and civilians have resisted the invasion of their borders from European monarchs. And the 40,000 civilians who died at the hands of Nazi artillery in Stalingrad is etched in the souls of every Russian school girl and boy. This is and of itself, reason enough for Putin to end his assault on Ukraine. This year long artillery assault on Ukrainian civilians will create a multi-generational hatred of all things Russian.

Even if Ukrainian leadership signed some “Peace Accord” with Putin, Ukrainian patriots would conduct a never-ending guerilla campaign against any Russians forces, wherever Ukrainians find them, anywhere in the world. To be sure, Putin’s war in the Ukraine reveals he knows little about the lessons of history. Maybe he should go back and study some of the old KGB briefings that Stalin considered gospel. To be sure, what did Stalin learn from Franklin Roosevelt at Yalta and at Potsdam? What did Stalin know about the United States, that Putin doesn’t? Finally, I get to my point.

True, we ended WWII by delivering nuclear weapons on two Japanese cities. But that is not why we WON World War II. Some would say we win WWII because our physical country had seemingly endless resources. To be sure, to PROJECT POWER first into Africa, then Europe, then Asia, we had to self-source food to sustain troops and self-source fuel to transport the food and the troops. The United States had both food and fuel. At the end WWII, the Germans didn’t have the food, the fuel…or the troops to defend THEIR OWN COUNTRY, let alone PROJECT POWER onto three other Continents! And the Russians? They did not have the food or the fuel…either. Further, I will contend the Russians didn’t have the soldiers who would run into machine gun fire during beach assaults in the Atlantic and/or the Pacific. Present day reports from the Ukrainian War support this assertion, i.e. Russia can’t find the troops to replace those killed.

Simply reference Spielberg’s work in “Saving Private Ryan” and his HBO Series “The Pacific.” These large military campaigns were so horrible and arduous, the survivors would only share their stories with other survivors. My Father, a US Naval officer in the Pacific, is certainly a fine example of this “Greatest Generation.”

Whether it was “survivor’s guilt” or just celebrating every next day he was alive, my Father was of the generation that ate the wrong things, drank the wrong things, smoked the wrong things and did the wrong things…so much so, almost all of them died in the Sixties. Born in 1913, my father grew up in “speak easy” bars during Prohibition. After smoking for 40 years, he quit “cold turkey” when he was 50. But the damage had been done. He was overweight and hypertensive. It is a miracle he made it another 17 years. But perhaps those 17 years speaks to the robust nature of what it is to be an “American Male.”

True, Hollywood “romanticized” what it meant to be an “American Male.” First we had “Westerns” where the hero shoots the bad guy and gets the girl. Then we had “War Movies,” where the hero shoots the bad guys and gets the girl. Then we had “Gangster Movies,” were the hero shoots the bad guys and gets the girl. But let’s put all of that Hollywood glitz, glamour and American mythology in perspective. Hollywood must tell stories that people want to watch for two hours. Which makes the low hanging fruit of Westerns, War and Gangster movies easy and simple financial commitments. But perhaps these simple business decisions are lost on Putin. Perhaps Putin thinks we “are weak,” and he would point to an established U.S. audience for RomCom movies or the ubiquitous porn supplied to every US home that has a cable TV and or internet connection. Did the US response to the 9/11 attacks change Putin’s mind?

1.3 million Americans joined the military to avenge the deaths of 3,000 civilians in New York and Washington, D.C. Our Military Industrial Complex invaded not one, but two countries…just to kill ONE GUY. And almost no one objected…but I did…because I don’t trust the MIC. We were “played” then and we are “played” now. I know some will call me a propeller head for my next statement, but I don’t care.

While I do believe unexperienced 20 and 30 something Muslim terrorists can crash airplanes into buildings, I don’t believe they could complete the mission without active GPS technology, which they had. So to the airline pilots that have funded their own “9/11” protest website…have at it. On the other hand, our world has seen MULTIPLE glass and steel skyscrapers catch on fire….and not collapse.

It takes 8,000 degrees to melt a single horizontal steel girder, let alone a reinforced, vertical steel column. An office fire (wooden desks, floors, walls, synthetic carpet, etc.) produces about 5,000 degrees at the most. Yet the collective psyche of 300 million Americans was “shocked” when the North and South World Trade Towers collapsed in their own footprint. Further a forty-seven story building down the street, (reinforced concrete, eighty-three steel columns)…also collapsed into its own footprint. Me? I agree with the Engineers and Architects that doubt the “official U.S. Government 9/11 explanation.” I don’t think the Trade Towers or Building Seven can fall into their own footprint…without a whole lot of HELP! So my point is this.

Have we collapsed into our own footprint? Are we so weak and so self-indulgent we have to borrow from our children and our grandchildren? Are we so weak, we allow unsavory elements to enter our homes and schools and into the lives of our children? Are we so weak we cannot elect government officials and hold them accountable to represent our interests? Are we so weak, we allow short sighted idiots to pass and enforce policies that have NOTHING TO DO WITH our core beliefs and institutions? Or, and this is a BIG OR, are there “dark forces” at work to challenge the fortitude of the “American Male,” i.e. the hardened and disciplined characters that “settled” this country, “grew” this country and “made” this country into the world power it is?

As I mentioned, I came upon a You-Tube video of an interview with a retired KGB officer. He claimed that Stalin and now the KGB, did not believe they could defeat 300 million Americans in a military conflict. We had clearly demonstrated the character and fortitude to win any direct challenge. And because of that, Stalin set a plan in motion to defeat America, to overcome America with an “indirect” challenge. And Stalin and his KGB went about the business of toppling America…from within.

First there was the Red Scare of the 50’s. Were there communists in Hollywood and New York, pursuing their own agenda in movies and television? Sure. They were uncovered and Senator McCarthy went about holding public trials. Of course, he went a little over-board. Imagine that, a DC politician savoring his own story! Go figure.

In the 60’s and 70’s, it was the anti-war movement. Did Russia fund some of the on-campus activist groups? Sure. Such data points surprise only the naive, i.e. those Americans caught up in their collective “3 D Tragedy,” (Debt, Disease, Disaster). I mean really, who has time to see if the Russians have sponsored homosexuals to invade the Catholic Church or the Boys Scouts? Or perhaps you don’t even need “Russian sponsors” to bring down American Institutions. You just need to be PERMISSIVE and LIBERAL and PROGRESSIVE.

As a Roman Catholic, I know that attendance in Sunday Mass is down. Even the Easter/Christmas Catholics no longer attend. And you can thank homosexuals and lawyers! There, I said it. A single lawsuit for sexual abuse against an individual deviate priest doesn’t have a whole lot of juice. But find an attorney, run an advertisement on cable TV and find a couple dozen victims of the SAME PRIEST, and now you have a class action lawsuit against THIRTY churches in an American city. Even better, if you find a Bishop or two who covered-up the abuse, then you can reach into the pockets of those “fat cats” in Rome! If you have the wrong attorney, you might get $40,000 as “hush money.” But with the right attorney, hell you might score $190,000, maybe even $750,000! Wow! That is some serious coin for that one time you were 17 and still a Virgin and the priest rubbed up against you in the shower! The horror!

I went to a boys boarding school. Did we have a professor and a coach who was gay? Yeah. Did we shower with the guy? NO! See what I’m saying? To be sure, one priest or in the Reuters story sighted today, more than one priest, CAN NOT and SHOULD NOT be able to crumble an institution like the Catholic Church in America. But it has! How many complaints from grown up Boy Scouts brought that American Institution down? To be sure, ONE DEVIATE can assault dozens of underage boys. And it should surprise no one, that the ONE DEVIATE looking for his twisted pleasure will gravitate to an organization where ALL THE BOYS ARE. Why would ANYONE protect the DEVIATE? This is inconsistent with our history.

The American Male has a tradition of durability, fortitude and straight up “bad ass ness.” When we came over here from Europe, the Indians attacked us and stole our women. So we attacked them back and stole THEIR WOMEN! This went on for 400 years. The Indian Wars end when the First Cavalry killed Indian women and children at the Battle of Wounded Knee. If the “Euros” can kill Indian women and children, then the Indian had no future…fighting the Euros. The Indian Wars end because we Euros were more savage…than the savages.

All that said, the American Male would not only defend to the death, what was his, he would also ATTACK WHEN REQUIRED. Study all of our defensive and offensive Wars and you know this to be true. And for Stalin, WWII was a watershed moment. He knew he had not led assaults on Africa, Europe or Asia. In WWII, Russia fought a defensive action…and only went on the offense after American “bad ass ness” destroyed the German and the Japanese militaries AND killed German and Japanese civilians! And after we fire bombed Dresden and Tokyo, we rebuilt the cities and the countries and turned them into OUR BIGGEST ALLIES! Stalin (and the world) had NEVER SEEN any country like the United States before!

Post War America was now THE BIG DOG ON THE BLOCK. With unlimited resources and robust people pursing the American Dream, the only way to compete against such a power, was to destroy the United States from within. That said, given our debt, our diseases, our disasters, what is our next move? Will we continue to let…

1. POOR LEADERS mislead and confuse us?
2. POLITICAL PARTIES give our tax dollars to their friends and families?
3. GOVERNMENTS spend more money than we have?
4. SCHOOL BOARDS determine what our children learn?
5. DEVIATES destroy our traditions and institutions?
6. STRAIGHT UP WEIRDOS dictate policy for the rest of us normal folk?

Maybe there is a day in the future, where we learn for sure the Russians have been working for our internal collapse for decades. Maybe there is a day in the future, when we learn multi-generational birth control pill use has damaged the normal reproduction process of the American woman and the result is an unusual population of deviates and weirdos…whose once normal nature has been compromised by their damaged biology. I for one will not be surprised.

If US Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer can create and craft progressive policy, just so his DAUGHTER and HER WIFE can sleep better at night, I can and will vote for conservative candidates with traditional American values. I for one will not be surprised when the “next Trump” gets North of 75 million votes.

That said, the “next Trump” better build the wall in his first term. The “next Trump” better close the fentanyl chemical factories in China by any means necessary. The “next Trump” better join the Mexican military to destroy the drug cartels that push waves of migrants and drugs into our country. Should the “next Trump” fail to deliver his campaign talking points… the January 6^th DC protest may give way to an ACTUAL INSURRECTION. Knowing the history of the American Male, I for one, will not be surprised.
