Political Parody As a Weapon Part LXXI & A Little Red Corvette; As the heat on the kettle increases, an apple sauce begins to simmer for the goose. Can the pot, gander and orange be far behind?

Last week in Part LXX, we watched as the left and the press attempted to circle the wagons around Joe Biden as he was confronted with his own classified document mishandling scandal. This week, we will stay on topic, as within an hour of that submission, Biden tried to burst out of his protective formation with his sports car and take the country for a ride.

As reports continue to surface that classified documents continue to be discovered in Joe Biden in the Greenville, DE residence that he has called home (though some conflicting documents suggest it is a rental property) and has frequently occupied since January of 2021. Many have been surprised that these documents were said to have been found in the garage and an adjacent room, and not in the basement, where Biden had spent most of his 2020 presidential campaign.

There has been some consternation that documents pertaining to national security were stored in a private home without Secret Service protection from 2017 until 2020 and did not have a Specialized Compartmented Intelligence Facility. The latter complaint notwithstanding, those who have observed Biden over the last half century will recall how Biden has boasted of his home security plan involving both barrels of his Beretta Over/ Under shotgun. Biden has also previously bragged that no one could take said weapon from him (including Barack Obama), so it should not be difficult to conclude that Biden feels his home is impregnable from outside penetration, or even unwelcome observation.

As such, it should come as no surprise that Biden would feel comfortable storing national security secrets in said domicile, even if drug addicted son Hunter (whom 51 former intelligence officers suggested was the target of Russian hacking and disinformation operations) was also on the premises. He was so certain of the fortress-like nature of his homestead that when confronted during a press conference, Biden humbly pointed out that most of the documents were secured in the garage with his Corvette.

That Biden attorneys continue to find documents there after the appointment of US Justice Department special counsel Robert Hur (an apparent Rod Rosenstein acolyte) has been a cause of concern for some, but Joe Biden and the White House are apparently satisfied that as long as the standard of care is equal to what Joe Biden would provide for his own sports car, the requirements for storage and security of classified materials in accordance with the Espionage Act and 18 US Code Subsection 794 et al would be met.

Biden’s confidence, good cheer and optimism regarding his predicament stands in contrast to another fan (along with Jill’s ex-husband Bill Stevenson) of the Corvette automobile, who at one point believed (along with many others) that the world as we knew it was going to end in 1999 (though he managed to last another decade and a half or so). Prince Rogers Nelson was an eccentric artist who performed only under his first name (or for a period of time by a symbol or the phrase “the artist formerly known as ‘Prince’ “) but managed to write and produce many successful songs, artists and other media. His popular breakthrough was brought about by his 1983 hit “Little Red Corvette”. While the song can ramble on quite a bit, to the extent that it resembles Biden in that regard, I have borrowed to memorialize the Biden method for securing classified material.
