Political Parody As a Weapon Part LXX; In a matter of kettles and pots or geese and ganders, who gets the apples and oranges?
Last week in Part LXIX, we compared the records on prevarications by the current occupant of the White House and a potential protegee in Congress. This week, we will compare the records on record handling as we return to the well-traveled playground of song parody.
This week, news consumers were made aware that days prior to the midterm elections in November of 2022, classified documents were found in a locked closet in Joe Biden’s office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement just off of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. by Biden’s attorneys. The University of Pennsylvania, which has received millions of dollars in Chinese funding, paid Biden nearly a million dollars in 2018 and 2019 for his role in maintaining the center that bore his name, as he didn’t teach a single course.
It is reported that among the documents recovered and said to have been turned over to the National Archives Records Administration were no nuclear secrets, but information deemed to be “Top Secret- Sensitive Compartmented Information”, that require a special facility in order to review and discuss said material. Subjects of these classified materials include the Ukraine and Iran.
Following the summertime activities by Biden and Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice previously chronicled in Part XLIX, Biden went on “60 Minutes” and gave his thoughts on the 45th President of the United States and his records retention antics, characterizing President Trump as “irresponsible”. While certainly the information in the public domain is not sufficient to prove beyond a reasonable doubt to a jury of his peers that Biden himself left behind the documents found in his office, it is important to recall that proof of intent is not necessary to prove certain criminal violations of the Espionage Act involving mishandling classified materials.
Of course, irresponsibility in the dissemination of sensitive information involving national security is nothing new to Joe Biden. Shortly after the May 1-2, 2011 raid into Abbottabad, Pakistan (that Biden opposed) resulting in the death of Osama bin Laden, on May 3 Joe Biden publicly congratulated Admiral Stavridis and his Seals for their successful mission, confirming for friend and foe alike which element of our Special Operations forces had carried out the task. When Seal Team Six lost several members after one of its helicopters was shot down in Afghanistan three months later, family members of those killed attempted to sue Biden and former CIA director/ Defense Secretary Leon Panetta for failing to protect the sources and methods in the operation, leading to Al Qaeda targeting the unit that killed their leader.
Of course, Biden failed to suffer consequences then, and he gives the appearance of one who is not concerned about any negative repercussions for his latest national security failure. To prove the point, it was revealed in the middle of the week that more classified documents left behind by the former VPOTUS were discovered at another location. Still the democrats and the press continue to stand by the notion that Biden’s circumstances should not be the subject of concern, while Trump’s retention of materials that he had the power to and claimed he declassified qualifies as a high crime.
It is almost as if the left knew Joe Biden to be a person incapable of responsibility or any culpability, and was merely adrift in dreams of endless vacation and ice cream. Back in the early 1960s, when Joe Biden sat as a lifeguard at the Prices Run pool, between duels with Corn Pop and his rusty razor and children fondling his leg hair, the music of the Beach Boys played on the transistor radios at the beach, singing of the joys of such a carefree existence with a string of hits that included “Don’t Worry, Baby”. I have borrowed the tune and reworked the lyrics to reflect the message the press and the left are trying to convey in this latest Biden national security fumble.
Documents been sitting in a closet
For oh I don’t know how long
Classified Top
Secret – SCI
But hey! What could go wrong
But Garland’s D O J
Will be the ones to say
And they’ll say “don’t worry, Biden”
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
Everything will turn out alright
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
Biden just should’ve kept his mouth shut
When he called Trump irresponsible
Because skeletons in his own closet
revealed his own acts were criminal
But democrats erupt
And then the truth obstruct
When they say “don’t worry, Biden”
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
Everything will turn out alright
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
He left unguarded in a closet
Secrets on national security
About Iran and Ukraine and such that
His Chinese sponsors loved to see
But his document dump
Won’t be treated like Trump
So they say “don’t worry, Biden”
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
Everything will turn out alright
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
Don’t worry, Biden
