Who Is Hunting LeBron James?

Pity poor LeBron James. Despite being one of the richest people on planet earth, he lives in fear. Why? Well, let him tell you in his own words from his Twitter feed:

In a separate instance, LeBron slandered and doxed a white police officer who saved a young black girl from a knife wielding assailant and tweeted, “I am so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police.” One wonders if LeBron is tired of seeing the 100 times as many blacks who are killed by other blacks. The important question is whether LeBron is lying to us, or if he is an abjectly ignorant fool. The big money bets are on the latter being true. However, LeBron’s mythically induced fear of being shot by cops and/or white people is a bizarro scenario because the folks who are really in danger are cops themselves, as well as the poor and middle-class Americans who count on law enforcement to protect them.

The Democrat party has been attacking cops as racist killers since the dawn of the Great Society in the 1960s. Ironically, prior to that the Democrat party was a stalwart supporter of Jim Crow and institutional racism. However, once LBJ kicked off the Great Society program with massive welfare spending, liberals of all colors have developed a profound case of amnesia about the sins of the Democrat party. In the case of black Democrat political leaders, they have sold their souls for government cash and keep telling their constituents that white people are the devil and only by soaking white people for government money can black people succeed in America. One wonders how much government money LeBron was given to help him succeed financially… NOT. The sad truth is that government money is the single biggest contributor to black poverty, crime and social disintegration. Black Americans who become successful in business or venues other than politics almost invariably do so without government assistance.

Despite convincing evidence that welfare is destroying black communities, race baiting demagogues continue to successfully convince many Americans that welfare is a good thing. Similarly, those same race baiters continue to spread the myth that cops are victimizing minorities, particularly black Americans, and that defunding the police is a good thing policy that is favored by minorities. Apparently, left wing bigots and fear mongers would prefer that vicious criminals be left alone when they are targeting their victims. Here is a good recent example.

The perp was plainly ready to kill, and his initial target seemed to be an innocent, unarmed young woman.

If not for the availability of an armed police officer, it is not unlikely that the young woman would be dead instead of the felon. However, left-wing media and the left wing of American politics minimize the heroic actions of officers like the ones in the video and amplify a million times the actions of rogue cops like Derek Chauvin. It is a deplorable and dishonest misrepresentation of the reality facing average Americans living in crime ridden areas. Invariably, the residents of high crime areas want MORE police presence, not less. Ignoring those desires, Democrats continue to push for reduced police presence and more welfare. It is inexcusable and almost unforgivable.

Apologists for race baiters like LeBron try to justify hostility towards cops by saying statistics “prove” that cops are racists. One of the favorite tropes of these cop haters is to point out that over 210 blacks are killed by cops in an average year, and a little more than 400 whites. That means about twice as many whites are killed, but the left’s clincher argument is that there are 5 times as many whites in America as blacks. Ergo, blacks are being killed at a much greater rate than whites as a percent of the American population. Blacks are also killed in much higher numbers than Hispanics even though Hispanic and black are roughly equally represented in the total American population.

Seems convincing until one delves into the data in more than a cursory fashion. The glaring error is that the race baiters are including ALL Americans in their sample population, when the appropriate sample population should be all Americans who were confronted by a police officer. ALL Americans have zero probability of being killed by a police officer if they do not get stopped by a cop. Overall, they are far more likely to be killed in a car wreck. On the other hand, any person caught breaking into a store, or trying to shoot a young woman, has tremendously higher odds of being killed by a cop than the average American.

Because of rampant criminality in black communities, black Americans are far more likely to have interactions with police officers than members of other racial groups. As a result, the odds of a fatal encounter are immediately increased for black Americans versus other groups. Despite that, when one looks at the likelihood of an encounter with a cop turning into a fatal event by race, the numbers show that per encounter, blacks are LESS likely to end up being fatally shot than a white person. More interestingly, white cops are less likely to shoot and kill a black suspect than a black or Hispanic cop is. Overall, the statistics show that the idea of cops hunting blacks in the street, or anyone else for that matter, is a scurrilous lie propagated by cop haters and race baiters.

 

When successful and prominent Americans repeat hateful lies and aim their invective at police officers in general, they are encouraging violence against cops and endangering entire communities. Their words have real life consequences, as shown by surge in violence against cops and the collapse in the number of people willing to be cops. Recruiting cops is a near impossibly in some precincts and cops are quitting, claiming disability, and retiring early in droves. Many large cities are desperately short of cops but have no way to fill their ranks because no one wants the job. What sane person would want to a be a cop in a Democrat run city? Cops are a target of the criminal element in the street, and a target of their own government whenever it is politically expedient. Pandering and ignorant comments from people like LeBron are the unwelcome icing on a rancid cake.

The criminal crisis in large Democrat run cities shows no sign of being reversed any time soon. On the contrary, it seems likely that the problem will get much worse. LeBron James lives in a city that has a big crime problem. Perhaps when he is finished playing basketball on his self-described “slave plantation”, he will be able to don a police uniform and show us all how a superstar does that thankless job. In the meantime, all of us would be grateful if he just kept his uninformed, bigoted and dangerous comments to himself. Maybe he could focus on freeing the actual slaves making his athletic gear in China.

    Are you sure he did it, and not someone he hired to do it? Lebron James may be rich and talented on the basketball court, but that doesn’t meant he has the IQ of more than a head of lettuce.
    Doesn’t he live in a gated neighborhood? Surely the poor sap can take a jog in his neighborhood.
    As far as I’m concerned about “King Lebron”, all he proves is one can be stupid and rich at the same time. He proves it most of the time he runs that mouth.
