Many times, I’ve voted the lesser of two evils for every level of government and felt justified except for the compulsive desire to wash my hands like Pontius Pilate. Like Pontius Pilate, I make a moral decision when I vote. Frankly, I’ve absolved myself too many times in the past to do it again, especially for Donald Trump to be POTUS. And like the Roman Governor, but from a much lower station and far lesser scale, my choice has consequences.
The argument that I would use, if I was me in the past, is “a no vote for Trump is a vote for Biden.” Pragmatically, that’s not true in Virginia. Virginia will dump Trump so fast the news networks can call it again, like they did in 2020, the instant the polls close. Trump won’t lose Virginia’s electoral votes because of me.
But, even if I were in the swing states – AZ, GA, WI, MI, PA – and close calls – NV, NC, NH, the absence of one vote only lowers the threshold for victory for both sides. It doesn’t add to the enemy. That’s math, not semantics.
Moreover, I’m not going to do it again.
I was almost a Never Trumper in 2016, but voted to protest the win I thought HRH Hilary I would get 52:48. I was so wrong. The working class Yankees in WI, MI, and PA saved the Republic.
I enthusiastically voted for Trump in 2020 to keep the policies that help America going and keep the Commies out of power.
Then, Trump blew it by being Trump.
Maybe the uber, super-narcissist worthy of a unique clinical definition for his psychological diagnosis couldn’t help himself. But, his failure to prevent the cheat in five metropolitan areas or overcome it with legal ballot harvesting, demonstrated how behind the childish, profane, petty, name-calling rants was an old huckster and reality TV personality who is incompetent at governance.
Trump is a braggadocio who perfected his bluster to mask his buffoonery.
It’s shocking how many Americans don’t see his incompetence and failures. And, his incredibly poor judgement in too many, not all, of the people around him – where, in government, personnel is policy.
It’s disappointing to see Americans in the Trump cult as blind as every glazy-eyed devotee cheering any awful tyrant in history.
It’s a bit of a surprise that the “Conservative” media would place their corporate bets on Trump to make more money whether he wins or loses.
Regardless, if Trump wins, he will fail and betray Conservatives. He isn’t a Conservative. Trump will put more Republicans out of power by his incompetence and lightening rod ability to galvanize his opponents, than Obama hurt the Democrats with his excesses.
True, the Establishment Republicans are the enemy of The People, but every R in Congress and the statehouses prevents Commies from being there. That’s almost reverting to the lesser of two evils argument again! Except, keeping R’s in office is more about making a governing majority, than tolerating a lesser evil.
Trump destroying the Republican power to allow Conservatives to govern is the opposite of DeSantis building Republican power in the free state of Florida.
Then, consider the consequences of obeying my conscience when Trump loses.
An adequate outcome is the Republicans keep the Senate and enough Republican Senators are sane and accountable enough to stop the great lunges for power the Commies make.
Will Republican senators gain their profile in courage to stop open borders, illegals vote, legalizing voter fraud, packing SCOTUS, DC statehood, more taxes, graft money to pass through Ukraine, higher energy costs, more regulations for every aspect of life, hi tech collusion against free speech, higher taxes, environmental cult economic suicide, war with China, etc.? TBD.
Then, Republicans – now free from Trump after his last loss – win seats in 2026 and actually win the White House with Ron DeSantis in a 2028 win that looks like Reagan 1980 because DeSantis is Reagan 2.0++.
The difficult case is the Democrats, ardent Human Secularist Totalitarians that they are, have all of Congress and push hard but are resisted sufficiently by the Republican governors following DeSantis’s leadership. Federalism works until the Republic can be saved, again, in the 2028 election.
The nightmare scenario is the Commies do what Bolsheviks, National Socialists, and other Commies did in China, Cuba, Indochina, and Venezuela. Step by step, the darkness comes like a shroud being pulled over the corpse of the Republic.
If there is a violent resistance, it could be our second War Between the States or Civil War, but it would be more awful because it would be like the Spanish Civil War on steroids. Neighbors kill neighbors based on how they vote. Horrible, but I believe we win.
How terrible and tragic is the worst case! So, why would I chance it for my wife, children, and grandchildren?
Because as a Christian, I don’t fear death.
Because I value freedom and will risk my family over slavery.
As an American, I know my family can prevail as they did when they took up arms against the greatest power in the world in the American Revolution.
As a Southerner, I know my family with their Christian ties that bind can survive deaths, war crimes, defeat, and occupation as well as three generations of real poverty.
As a human, I know someone in America will survive a war with China which our American Commies are more likely to cause than Conservatives. I don’t know if that will include my People. But, I know where we’ll be absent the body.
As horrendous as an extreme outcome might be, I won’t compromise my conscience again. I won’t vote for fool. A petty, wannabe tyrant. An incompetent jerk. An unrepentant reprobate. An aging mockery. A childish bully. A threat and danger to the Republic and the Rule of Law – from either party.
Here I stand. I can do no other.

Did you think Donald Trump would clean up the sewer of Washington DC by himself? Don’t you realize that the uniparty fought him every day in every way they could? That the elections in 2020 & 2022 were stolen from the true winners by the outright disgusting, dishonest cheating of the uniparty again? That the old nasty varmint McConnell does everything he can to prevent conservatives from winning in every race that sends someone to Washington? Even with all that opposition, Trump was a very successful president.
I haven’t voted for Trump because I thought he was a saint sent from God. I voted for him because he puts Americans first; he’s a smart businessman, he understands trade & can negotiate with the devils out there.
He supported & rebuilt our military that the fools in Washington have just about destroyed.
He is a superior leader compared to any other person in politics at the moment. Dizzy Dean always said “it ain’t bragging if it’s true.” Trump can pat himself on the back all he wants, because the many things he accomplished are true. I much prefer a man that stands up for himself & his country over the bought & paid for lesser people.
I hope you just stay home & not bother voting. Surely to God you wouldn’t vote for Biden or his replacement.
I am a Southerner, too, but I’m also MAGA and I will support Trump as the man to lead America, not to fill the pulpit in my church.
If Trump wasn’t incompetent at management and governance, he would have known how he was being played early in 2017. I voted for him in 16 and 20. He is incapable of getting elected (I’ve been wrong before) and incapable of cleaning up the Swamp. He didn’t get the Woke out of the military. The election of ’22 wasn’t stolen. Trump puts Trump first and foremost. He will screw up the down ballot elections so badly the Commies will be in power “yugely.” His pet candidates have done poorly. They lose. He will lose in 24. Needs to drop out and save his butt in court.
Expecting an R-majority Senate led by McConnell to logjam this corrupt lawless Regime is like expecting McConnell and his butt-remoras to rediscover the concept of “honor” and seek redemption through seppuku.
Sorry, that’s just harsh reality–the D’s won’t even abide by SCOTUS rulings they don’t like and there’s only so much governors can do. We NEED either an Impeachment-grade Senate majority that’s willing and able to throw people out, or 1600.
Diamondback: I agree. I know the Senate Rs are weak and weakly led. I expect them to keep us from going over the falls. Hopefully. Agree we need more Conservatives in the Senate.
