A (black) police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, is “fighting for his life” after being assaulted during protests/riots marking the 10th anniversary of the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, Ferguson Police Chief Troy Doyle announced.
The deadly assault took place Friday night outside the Ferguson Police Department when a “demonstration” commemorating Brown’s death turned violent. According to the police chief, officers began to make arrests in response to rioters damaging a fence outside the police station.
A rioter charged at Officer Travis Brown, another black man, when he attempted to make an arrest, causing him to fall and hit his head. This left him with a “severe brain injury,” Doyle added. Rioters hurt two additional officers, leaving one with an ankle injury and another with abrasions.
POLICE DEPARTMENT CAVED TO THE MOB: NOT ENOUGH
Following the riots in Ferguson, Missouri a decade ago, the police department “fed the crocodile,”^ by caving to the mob’s demands. Brown’s shooting was investigated by three different agencies, including Obama’s Department of Justice, and deemed to be justified. This, however, did not satisfy the mob. They demanded and received everything they wanted.
As one of their officers clings to life in the hospital, Chief Doyle, a black man, held a press conference. He explained the changes they made since Michael Brown’s death in August 2014. He touted his department’s changes, and said: “This is a brand-new department.”
Ferguson is a suburb of St. Louis with a population of barely 18,000. Ferguson police, which had a handful of black officers in 2014, is now over 50% black and 23% female, said Doyle. The department also began using body-worn cameras, mandated implicit bias training, crisis intervention training and even changed its uniforms because some people were “triggered” by them. Over 90% of officers joined the department after 2014.
Chief Doyle expressed frustration: “This police department since 2014 has been a punching bag for this community,” Doyle said at a news conference on Saturday. “I don’t know why the officers here, who weren’t even here in 2014, have to continue to suffer through this. It doesn’t make any sense.”
Officer Brown has served the Ferguson Police Department since January 2nd, according to Doyle. The police chief said Brown was the kind of officer the community wanted on the force. “All police ain’t bad,” Doyle said. “Officer Brown got into this job because he was inspired to do the right thing. He wanted to be a part of the change, he wanted to make an impact in our community, and what happens? He gets assaulted.”
THAT was not enough for the Leftist mob. Caving to the mob only shows how weak you are, and they will demand ever more.

Could there possibly be a better example of how appeasement never works, than what the mob did in Ferguson last week?
