The Great Chicken Con: How Cage-Free Laws, Media Hysteria, and Manufactured Panic Gave Us $10 Eggs

Well, well, well—here we go again. New year, new president, new crisis to keep us distracted and desperate. As soon as the inauguration wraps up, suddenly the media is shrieking about the “2025 Bird Flu Pandemic”, warning us that our backyard flocks are ticking time bombs, industrial farms must shut down, and hey, while we’re at it, let’s make eggs a luxury item for the rich.

What’s the real pandemic? Stupidity. And we’ve seen this script before.

Why Eggs Cost More Than the Chicken That Laid Them

Once upon a time, a dozen eggs was one of the most affordable protein sources in America. Enter government-mandated cage-free chicken laws, because, apparently, some suit in Washington decided that chickens’ quality of life matters more than whether families can afford to eat breakfast. The result? Egg shortages, higher production costs, and skyrocketing prices—all so hens can enjoy more “personal space” while still laying eggs at a fraction of their former rate.

And now, with Bird Flu™ back in the headlines, we’re supposed to believe that the solution is… what? Destroy more flocks? Ban backyard chickens? Drive prices up even higher? Because last time I checked, a whole rotisserie chicken costs less than a carton of eggs, which means something is seriously broken.

The Media Screams, and the Government Delivers the Crisis

If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that crisis narratives = control. First, they scare us to death with wall-to-wall coverage of a virus with a handful of cases and one death in the U.S. Then, they roll out the “expert” mandates:

✔️ Cull millions of birds because we swear they might be infected!

✔️ Push for more restrictions on egg farming because mass panic equals great policy decisions!

✔️ Get the public primed for the next round of food shortages—because nothing says “we care about you” like engineered scarcity.

And what’s next? If history is any guide, it’ll be something along the lines of:

• “Mandatory testing for poultry farms” (Translation: More shutdowns.)

• “Temporary poultry vaccine mandates” (Translation: New costs for farmers, passed onto you.)

• “Crisis-driven regulations” that somehow always hurt small farmers while the mega-corporations keep cashing in.

When Do We Get Neither Safe, Nor Food Secure?

Let’s connect the dots:

1. They told us “two weeks to flatten the curve.” (That went well.)

2. They told us to shut up and comply—for our own good.

3. Now, they’re telling us we can’t have eggs, unless we pay $10 a dozen, because of some bird flu boogeyman.

How long before we’re neither safe, nor fed, nor free? Because this isn’t about a virus. This is about control.

Let’s Not Fall for the Stupidity a Second Time

We’re not doing this again. Not for the latest overblown “pandemic”, not for another manufactured food crisis, and certainly not for more government-mandated “protections” that conveniently benefit big agriculture and squeeze the little guy out.

So before you run to the store in a panic or start apologizing to your wallet for daring to buy eggs, remember:

• Fear sells.

• Regulations destroy.

• And the only thing cage-free right now is the government’s ability to manipulate us into another crisis.

Buy the backyard chickens. Ignore the headlines. And don’t let them fool you again.
