How bad was the Biden administration? Bad enough to make cleaning up the mess seem like an extreme home makeover. The Donald isn’t trying to leave the house cleaner than he found it; he’s determined to leave it cleaner than his predecessor found it. It’s requiring rather extreme measures. But is extremism in forcing government compliance with the will of the people actually a bad thing?
We’re at the 100-day mark of President Trump’s second shot at the presidency, and WOW!
- USAID funding of global wokeness is cancelled.
- US energy production has been unleased.
- The domestic job market is expanding.
- Business stifling government regulations are being rolled back.
- Institutional racism has been defunded.
- Federal waste, fraud, and abuse is being exposed.
- Biological reality has been returned to female sports.
- Security clearances of the treasonous have been revoked.
- Federal offices are being cleared of the derelict.
- The border is sealed.
- Federal law is being enforced on the sanctuaries.
- Illegals are being sent home.
- The trade war is being engaged.
- Law enforcement is no longer enforcing party loyalty.
- Criminal judges are being arrested.
- Allies have been informed that our continued support is contingent on shared interests.
None of that is unnecessary, if we wish to preserve freedom, safety, security, and prosperity.
But such bold leadership is quite a contrast with Trump’s predecessor, President PLWD (person living with dementia). It has created quite a conundrum for the Dems. How can they regain power, while the Donald is cleaning up the mess they made, while not appearing to help him? Naturally the Dems went to their default answer – messaging. It’s not about the policies, it’s about the narrative. So, they’ve settled on the words that they will use to describe an energetic executive doing the will of the people:
- Oligarch,
- Tyrant,
- Fascist,
- Authoritarian, and even
- “Literally Hitler.”
But is “Nazi storm trooper” really synonymous with extremism. Might there also be extremism which doesn’t involve the mass slaughter of Jews?
Senator Barry Goldwater gave us the answer to that question when he ran for President in 1964. During his nomination acceptance speech, he said:
Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in pursuit of justice is no virtue.
Whether extremism is good or bad depends on context. There are occasions when extremism is righteous, and moderation is evil.
Our out-of-control federal government has become a domestic threat to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If President Trump is taking extreme measures to prevent the swamp’s pursuit of death, oppression, and destitution; I’ll take more of it – because it’s a good thing.
