Today, the average American works nearly half the year just to pay taxes—federal, state, property, fuel, sales, even death. We’re taxed when we earn, when we spend, when we save, and when we die. All for crumbling roads, indoctrination posing as education, and a government whose idea of “efficiency” is a six-month wait followed by a lost form.
We’re not called slaves anymore. We’re “taxpayers,” “consumers,” and “mortgage holders.” But the outcome is the same: a compliant labor force extracting productivity to fuel a system that neither represents nor respects them.
It gets darker.
This arrangement was once called welfare. Someone took care of you—in exchange for your labor. Indentured servants worked off a debt. Today? That same servitude comes with granite countertops and a 30-year mortgage ball-and-chained to your ankle. Toss in a car loan, student debt, and a subscription to everything—and you’re locked in.
And the most perverse twist? Some people prefer it.
There are those who want to be ruled. Who trade the burdens of freedom—risk, responsibility, consequence—for comfort and security. Like Aristotle’s “natural slaves,” they crave direction, structure, and someone else to blame. Just give them Netflix, direct deposit, and DoorDash, and they’ll never ask who’s holding the leash.
This isn’t about race, color, or nationality—it’s about character. Some act like free men. Others want to be taken care of. The tragic irony? The former are being enslaved to fund the lifestyle of the latter.
The chains are digital, the plantation is suburban, and the master wears a name tag that says Equity, backed by a bloated regime demanding obedience in exchange for comfort.
