So here we are again. A mighty empire at its peak—wealthy beyond measure, unrivaled in military power, exporting its culture like a global franchise—and then suddenly… drag shows in the Senate, open marriages on reality TV, and everyone’s gender is “fluid” until further notice.
No, we’re not talking about Netflix’s 2025 original series Gladiator Love Island. We’re talking about Rome. And yes, America too.
Let’s take a quick, tongue-in-cheek tour of how two empires—Rome and the U.S.A.—followed the same brilliant rise and spectacular moral nosedive. Because history might not repeat itself, but man, it sure loves a good remix.

Rome: Tough-as-nails legionnaires in iron armor conquer everything from Britain to Babylon. The Republic is all about honor, citizenship, and manly men in skirts building aqueducts.
America: WWII heroes storm beaches. Factories churn. Men come home, start families, mow lawns. We moonwalk (literally) our way into space and swagger into the 1990s with more freedom than a NASCAR driver with no seatbelt.
Result: Both empires become rich, powerful, and utterly convinced of their own immortality.

Rome: Emperors start thinking they are gods. Caligula appoints his horse to the Senate. Nero fiddles while Rome burns, possibly in full drag. Elagabalus? He marries a man, demands to be called “Empress,” and allegedly offers a reward to anyone who can turn him into a woman. (Sound familiar?)
America: We appoint people to the Department of Defense who can’t define what a woman is. Our political elite jet around on climate crusades in private planes. Drag queens read to kids. The average 15-year-old is either being indoctrinated, medicated, or both.
Result: Identity crisis. The family structure collapses. Truth becomes optional. Everyone’s special, so no one is.

Rome: Divorce rates skyrocket. Birth rates plummet. Elite Roman youths flock to Greek philosophers to learn how to talk, not fight. Gladiator matches become blood orgies for bored elites. Grain subsidies keep the mob distracted.
America: We’re not having kids—we’re having OnlyFans. Marriage is optional. Sex is transactional. Our youth majors in TikTok choreography and social justice while living off DoorDash and antidepressants. Bread and circuses? Try Uber Eats and Netflix.
Result: Civic virtue dies. The mob rules. The elites are too busy virtue-signaling on social media while planning their gated-community escape routes.

Result: Collapse isn’t a bang—it’s a whimper. A slow death. Like a decaying oak, hollow at the core, just waiting for a strong wind to bring it down.

When empires get fat on comfort, addicted to pleasure, and allergic to truth, they don’t need an enemy to take them down. They do it themselves—with style, hashtags, and a government-funded TikTok campaign.

Rome fell. So will we—unless we stop the rot.
