From X(Twitter): Jonathan AC Brown, a professor of muslim studies at Georgetown University wrote, “I hope Iran does a symbolic strike on a (US) base, then everyone stops.” He has deleted the post and put up his apology. “I deleted my previous tweet because a lot of people were interpreting it as a call for violence. That’s not what I intended.” So Jonathan, what did you intend? If you’re this radical why is Georgetown allowing you near students?
Not to be outdone, the progressive left is out in force crying the old mantra of “impeachable” and “unconstitutional.” But Obama got a pass when he dropped bombs on Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, and Pakistan. And Clinton when he ordered attacks on Khartoum, Sudan and Khost Province, Afghanistan. Temper tantrums must depend on who occupies the WH. Jonathan Turley (GW School of Law) notes,“Thomas Jefferson to now Donald Trump, presidents have deployed military assets without Congressional approval to address imminent threats.”
The War Powers Act, as the aforementioned examples allude to, has been largely ineffectual. But if Congress wanted to change or delete it they could. However, it seems they are content to allow it to stand. And don’t fall for the Democrats “he didn’t tell us.” According to Karoline Leavitt, Schumer and Jeffries simply didn’t answer their phones.
Historically, we started interfering with Iranian regimes beginning with Eisenhower. We have been living with Carter’s “Death to America” mullahs since 1979, and you might reasonably assume that they’ve been at war with us. We have seen Obama and Biden give billions (with a B) of dollars to Iran—the world’s #1 exporter of terror. But now it’s, “Trump, Orange Man Bad.” Does it appear from their actions that Democrat partisans always side with illegal aliens, terrorists and criminals? They might reflect on that.
Lastly, I am extremely proud of those crews that took part in one of the most successful operations in recent history. It is a testament to the men and women–the bombers, tankers, fighters and their supporting comrades—that live by Isaiah 6:8. Pray we always have Americans such as these.
