For our good friends on the left, accepting transgenderism seems like almost a requirement. The left have mostly — there have been a few exceptions — decided that, when it comes to anything even remotely related to sex, they must take the furthest left position possible, or they will somehow be legitimizing the positions of us wicked reich-wing conservatives, and, of course, the totally evil Donald Trump. The Nation even called anything less the Rise of a New Confederacy!

Loudoun County schools voted to maintain their gender policy, allowing transgender students to use facilities matching their identity, despite Education Department demands for change.

The Loudoun County school board voted to maintain its policies allowing transgender students to use facilities that match their gender identity, despite an order from the U.S. Department of Education to change the policy or risk punishment.
After meeting in closed session, the board voted 6 to 3 Tuesday to tell the federal agency that while it would be open to further discussion, it was unable “at this time” to agree to changes proposed by the department.
Dozens of parents and community members packed the school board meeting on Tuesday evening, split on urging the board to either adopt or rescind the policy.

Remember Loudoun County schools? We have previously noted how the schools tried to cover up a rape, and noted that a teenaged boy who frequently wore a skirt and used the girls’ bathrooms was found guilty of sexually assaulting a girl in one of the girls’ bathrooms. Post reporter Karina Elwood conveniently omitted that from her story, at least as it was published at 5:00 AM Wednesday morning. In the 2024 elections, the good people of Loudoun County gave 56.28% of their votes to Vice President Kamala Harris Emhoff, so maybe they aren’t all that intelligent.

Grand jury report condemns Loudoun schools’ handling of sex assaults

A special grand jury has released a report condemning Loudoun County Public Schools officials for their handling of a pair of sexual assaults committed by the same student last year that drew significant attention and anger.
The investigation was authorized by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) and Attorney General Jason Miyares (R) in early January as one of their first acts in office. The grand jury was charged with investigating how the school district responded to the assaults, which took place in May and October 2021. Youngkin and Miyares’s actions followed months of community outrage, aimed largely at Loudoun school officials’ decision to transfer the student assailant from one high school campus after his first assault, only to see him commit a second sexual assault at the second campus five months later. . . . .
The report also says Loudoun Schools Superintendent Scott Ziegler lied about the incident at a June 2021 board meeting, denying a sexual assault had occurred in a school bathroom when he knew such an assault had taken place. The superintendent has previously said that he misunderstood the question and that he thought the board member was asking whether the school had records of bathroom assaults committed by transgender or gender-fluid students.
The superintendent was subsequently fired.
What could possibly go wrong? That was my headline question, but the fact is that, for the Loudoun County public schools, it has already gone wrong. Two girls — of which we are aware; there could have been more — have been raped, a superintendent who tried to cover it up was fired, but no one has been held accountable for the Board of Education’s miserable policies.
I get it: the good people on the left don’t want to be mean to the poor dears who think they’re the wrong sex, but not being mean, not telling the actual truth that girls can’t be boys and boys can’t be girls has a lot of consequences that transcend courtesy. Officials in Loudoun County ought to be aware of them.
