February 28, 2026 is another Red Letter Day in history. It’s so amazing to be alive and witness it like a spectator sport from the safety of America. The U.S. and Israeli attack on Iran is an international reset. It isn’t the deliberate end of anything except the lives of despicable Muslim tyrants. The coincident casualties of this war and whatever conflict it begets are a painful cost. But, a cost well paid for some safety from Shia Muslim barbarism and, possibly, for some freedom for 90m Iranians.
Or, should they go by their historical name – Persians – again?
They can decide that themselves if they gain enough freedom to self-determine their state – their government. TBD.
For the moment, let’s celebrate killing the bad guys. Hearing that Ayatollah Khomeini and so many top Iranian officials were dead truly pleased me. Felt like a sort of mini Fall-of-the-Berlin-Wall moment to me. A good turning point in history. A win. Victory for a moment.
Because every victory is fleeting. It’s the way of the world.
The 200m or more Shiite Muslims in the world are humiliated that their “Pope” and political leader was murdered by their Satan – Israel and Great Satan – our U.S. They’ll seek revenge. They’ve already mob attacked a U.S. consulate and an embassy.
Shia Muslims will strike somewhere.
Many more Muslims will freak out if liberated Iranians go wholesale in burning mosques to the ground. Even more so, if old Christian sects and newly-energized Evangelical Iranian Christians build big churches. It will be utter repudiation and humiliation for Islam.
Even for the Sunnis who hate the Shiites to death.
European peasantry may be encouraged by Iranian patriots – who paid dearly for their protests.
Meanwhile, China and Russia should gain caution in the short term as they assess how effective the U.S. military can be in multi-dimensional warfare.
The bad news is how they may apply lessons learned in the long term against us.
If Iranian military power and terrorist promotion is utterly destroyed for a few years, the realignment for a temporary peace in the Middle East is promising.
Note to Self: There is never permanent peace in the Middle East.
In the U.S. and across Western Civilization the true loyalties of Muslim politicians and the real dependence of Leftists on Muslim votes are out in the open. Again.
Exhibit A: Prime Minister Starmer didn’t support the effort with the meager means of the UK military. Now, supposedly, he will allow UK bases to be used. And, he wrote a letter meekly supporting the U.S.. Not a Churchill.
Exhibit B: UK Member of Parliament Zarah Sultana posted on X, ”Kick out US Troops Now.” It seems she is unaware of British laws establishing the status of U.S. forces in the UK.
America’s enemies, domestic and foreign, make themselves known clearly.
Above all, bombing the evil leadership out of existence doesn’t establish who will follow. That will be the faction with the guns, the forces on the ground, and the will to win.
That could go many different ways. Neither the U.S. nor Israel will decide who wins, when, or how.
An army is always the final argument of kings – Ultima Ratio Regum. Naval and Air Forces “service” (destroy) many targets and can cause great destruction. But, with the exception of atomic bombs ending WW2 for Japan, wars end when Land Warfare is decided.
Real peace comes when the terms of surrender are dictated at the table to the vanquished enemy. Peace comes with victory. Never a permanent peace, but the land may have “rest from war” for a number of years.
May it be so in Persia for decades if they become free.
