Contrails Chemtrails and Rabbit Holes. On a beautiful spring day a few years ago, I was attending a reception celebrating the baptism of a friend of mine (we will call her Linda) which was held outdoors. The weather was perfect: sunny, mild temperature, light breeze, and a cloudless blue sky. Since I attended alone and knew few people at the gathering, I engaged in conversation with a woman who looked to be in her early 50s.
She was conservatively dressed and well spoken as she explained that she and “Linda” were longtime friends. She had invited Linda to the church and was excited our friend Linda was baptized. I expressed my pleasure in that as well, and then remarked that God Himself might be expressing His satisfaction given the perfection of the day’s weather. I observed that the only thing that was keeping the sky from being perfectly blue were a few high-altitude jet contrails from the planes flying from the city airport.
The woman chuckled briefly and replied, “Yes, that’s what they want you to think.” Puzzled by her remark I asked, “What they want me to think? What do you mean?”
Mistake. My questions launched a quiet rant from her as she explained to me that the contrails are actually “chemtrails” and . She delivered her doomsday prediction in a reasonable cadence and without raising her voice. It was almost like she was retelling the results of a recent city board meeting, not revealing a “secret” plot to destroy the world. As she continued to talk about this deadly conspiracy, I asked where she got the information that convinced her this plot was real.
She replied that she had read articles online, but that her own observations are what convinced her. She said that when she was little girl, the contrails from planes were only a short tail trailing behind the jets and disappeared in short order. Chemtrails hang in the air “for hours.” Not willing to be rude but wanting to end a conversation that had clearly gone off the rails, I mentioned half-jokingly that someone should probably call the FBI to investigate such a massive conspiracy because it would be easy to uncover.
She replied that the government was the culprit so the FBI could not be trusted (in retrospect she was probably right about that). In fact, she said we should probably stop talking about it outside since the FBI or the NSA was probably listening to our conversation. Adding paranoia to the already long list of mental defects (like stupidity) I thought she might be suffering from, I dared ask her how the FBI and NSA might be monitoring our conversation.
She pointed a nearby cellphone tower with its array of receivers and transmitters, “They are listening right now!” now totally incredulous, I replied, “The cellphone tower?!?” She smiled, “That’s their cover story, but it is all about surveillance.” Tossing back the rest of my drink, and feeling thankful that it was a non-alcoholic beverage, I thanked the lady for her insights and warnings and headed for the exit.
Two days ago, on a conservative Facebook page run by a good friend of mine, a woman I know passingly from interactions on that page posted asking if anyone else had noticed that jet contrails “hang in the air for many hours. Previously the… exhaust disappeared very quickly. … Coincidence?” That started a thread in which this woman repeated the same theory on chemtrails that I first heard at that baptismal celebration 7 years ago!! My previous interactions with the woman would never suggest that she would buy into such a crazy idea, but she was adamant.
When asked about who would possibly benefit from such a scheme, she had no answer. When asked how it might be possible to secretly move the absolutely massive amounts of chemicals necessary to poison the globe from on high without anyone finding out about it, she had no answer. When asked about where the cash would come from to finance such a gigantic undertaking, she had no answer. When asked why the average aircraft maintenance guy would assist in such a conspiracy when they know their own families would be poisoned by it, she had no answer. Despite that, she left the debate convinced of the danger posed by these “chemtrails”, and of the existence of a government conspiracy to poison us all.
No good conservative lacks a healthy suspicion of all government. The Federal government in particular has breached our trust enough to make any informed person view their actions with a jaundiced eye, but that does not mean that all rational thought should be dispensed with when confronted with a seeming anomaly. According to the BBC, “A 2016 poll found that 10% of Americans consider the chemtrails conspiracy to be “completely true”, with a further 20-30% considering it “somewhat true.” This is even though to date, the ONLY evidence cited by chemtrail believers is that fact that contrails seem to “hang in the air for hours.” This explains why people like John Fetterman can be elected to Congress.
Many Americans will believe almost anything with scant to no evidence. Liberal foolishness is all to evident with them constantly parading their idiocy with the help of left-wing media: men can get pregnant; kids can choose their genders; police are hunting black men; crime is a form of reparations; open borders are good; marriage is institutionalized rape; etc. The stupidity and ignorance of those positions are manifest, yet they are embraced as gospel by supposedly educated liberals and defended to the point of violence by the ignorant with the blessing of the Democrat party and the left-wing media. Conservative wing nuts have apparently been lurking all along, knowing that the government is killing us all, but being willing only to talk sotto voce about it at parties. A conservative almost longs for the angry hostility of the left to be manifest in their grass roots right when a socialist president hires 87,000 new IRS agents, but conservatives, even the wing nut variety, will apparently be like the German people, or the Russians, who kept supporting their governments even after it was clear Hitler and Stalin were murderous maniacs.
As a conservative, running into other folks who seem well informed on Constitutional issues and who support common sense governmental polices and limited Federal power, is a pleasure. Finding out that they also believe whacked out conspiracy theories on no evidence, and yet they are not willing to publicly oppose those crimes despite believing that the crimes are a deadly threat to millions of Americans, is disheartening. We know that leftists are willing to engage in any tactic to try to implement their agenda, including discarding the Constitution, engaging in widespread violence in the streets, illegally censoring conservative thought, and stealing elections with voter fraud. What will it take to get many average conservatives to focus on those very real threats rather than wasting their time fretting about a non-existent global conspiracy to poison the world?
Liberals gin up conspiracies like spring brings weeds. The Democrats and liberal media LOVE them, but their conspiracy theories move left wing acolytes to action. Conspiracy theories seem to attract extreme conservative’s too, but unlike left wing folks, conservatives gripe and worry about the threat, but otherwise do not do a darn thing. What will it take to move conservatives from private mutterings to public engagement? It is hard to say, and recent trends do not support optimism. Whereas left wingers get violent when they lose an election or a judicial decision, and take to the streets to push their demands, conservatives seem to see every defeat as a confirmation of the inevitability of defeat for conservative American values and policies. If Americans will not stand up and expose oppose a global conspiracy to kill us all, it would be a fool’s bet to assume that they will energetically and effectively oppose a corrupt Democrat party as it tries to impose socialism on this country. Conservatives should be better than that.

Seeing on how the government has been seeding clouds since Vietnam, I’m inclined to think they’ve made progress over the last half century! I have seen the most unnatural rolling bank of clouds. Seeing on how HAARP can control the weather, I think more research and government transparency needs to be forced by the people on the government. Straight up weather manipulation is part of the depopulation agenda. Conservatives need to look deeper into our own biases and question everything.
You’re a perfect example of the whack jobs of whom he wrote. For the love of GOD, learn some atmospheric science. & Cloud seeding has been going on since we’ll before Vietnam, as have been roll clouds.

Questioning everything is a useful philosophy when dealing with the Federal government, but sometimes the answers should be apparent almost immediately. Cloud seeding specific regions for a short period of time with the goal of producing rain is gigantically different than a decades long global conspiracy to depopulate the world. I ask again, who benefits and how, and how do they keep it secret when hundreds of thousands of people would be involved?
Some conspiracy theories can definitely be kooky. Others, not so much. Sometimes a conspiracy theory can be about a real conspiracy, like the 4 year long Trump/Russia Collusion hoax. The conspiracy theories about shadow banning and censoring conservatives on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter turned out to be true. We were told only kooks believed Supreme Court Justices would be targeted because the Dobbs decision leak, until a would be Kavanaugh assassin was thwarted. We were told Hunter’s laptop was disinformation and only rightwing conspiracy kooks believed it was real, until now. The discrediting of the conspiracy theories makes the front page. The correction acknowledging the theory wasn’t just a theory makes page 42d of last section of the website. The left would have us believe all conservatives believe in Big Foot, while they are the ones using big fake feet to make false footprints to lead us away from their wicked trail.
So let’s cut to the chase… What are chem trails? What’s your take on them?

I believed all the conspiracies you mentioned were conspiracies, and we have been Proven right. At the same time, in all those cases it was easy to understand how some people would garner power, money, or prestige(influence) from the success of those plots. The critical piece, a motive, is missing.
Chemtrails are real…Those white lines in the sky, at low altitude ( normal cloud ceiling approx 10-12 000 feet) are NOT CONTRAILS. USAF veteran. I served when Reagan was president…I understand jet aircraft. The standard contrail altitude is 30,000 plus and they disappear within seconds, because, they’re just water vapor…These chemtrails spread out across the sky…They are also unpiloted… None of the aircraft can be tracked back to Base by tail numbers. Most have no markings…

I’m 70 years old. I grew up on & around air force bases. My last employment was another 10 years + a Edwards AFB & guess what. You’re wrong.What you wrongly call “chemtrails” looked the same now as they did over Robbins AFB back in the 50’s, Homestead AFB in the 60s. March AFB in the 70s, Norton AFB in the 70s, El Toro MAF in the 70s & 80s, Miramar in to 70s & 80s & EAFB in the 2000s. My nephew was a career Coastie. His Herx made “chemtrails” (as you wrongly call them) all over the western hemisphere. I was also married to a Continental flight attendant and have flow all over the US, Mexico, Hawaii, & western Europe for 17 years in Continental birds as well as other airlines. DC10s, 747, 737, 727, DC9, L1011, MD80, MD82; they all made contrails at virtually all altitudes. All varied in duration depending on air temperature & humidity.

Being a veteran, you swore an oath to protect and defend this country from all enemies foreign and domestic. Have you been waging a decades long campaign to expose this massive plot? According to the theory, you and your family and friends are all being poisoned by this campaign. If you truly believe that is what’s happening, what’s it gonna take to get you to devote your time and resources to stopping it? As I wrote, this would be a massive undertaking there is an audit trail in thousands and thousands of people would have to be involved in carrying it out. Black Lives Matter got thousands of people to hit the streets and cities all over this country and burn them down with nothing but a couple of lies. Don’t you think that your truth, if you could provide any evidence of it, would motivate conservatives to demand answers on the subject?

I have no proof of whether conspiracies but this administration and the Democrats, in general, have been doing insane things on a daily basis and rubbing our noses in it. Since they are trying to make madness commonplace, we have to ask why wouldn’t they.
They could be creating droughts by seeding clouds out over the pacific before they reach the West Coast.
They could be releasing aluminum particles to be superheated by HAARP to move a jet stream.
As for the contrails staying for hours: They stayed for hours 65 years ago when I was a young kid so why not now?

The chemtrail op first appeared in force in 1999 along about the time that Enron began offering weather derivatives. I have been watching this op unfold for 20 years. The Boeing Tanker delivery planes are in all white livery or all white with a red tail. If you keep you attention on the in any given sector of sky, you can see them returning to the same airbase locations and then re-emerging from the same direction to re-spray. They always spray along the leading edges of advancing cold fronts. This is cloud seeding on a massive scale. They started with barium powder, but now they use fly ash from coal plants. The planes are now all auto-piloted.
True contrails are no more than 30 plane lengths long whereas the chemtrail contrails go from horizon to horizon.
And you proof that these planes are all “auto-polited” is? Where is your verifiable proof of that?
I won’t get into this argument about chemtrails and contrails, but my dad flew a B-17G over Germany in WWII, and it produced contrails. There are pictures that show it. All a contrail is, is a disturbance caused by turbulence in the higher altitudes of flight. They can be by anything that puts out a mechanical wake in the air, hot exhaust gases and turbulence. No doubt there has been seeding experiments done, for weather purposes, and I wouldn’t put anything past our government, so if there is proof that chemtrails exist, I don’t doubt it.
On the other hand, consider a jet that just took off, has some kind of emergency and has to dump fuel, just to land. I’ll bet JP-4, or other version of fuel, is just as toxic as whatever a substance that has to disperse from 20-40 thousand feet is. Some jets have dumped fuel as low as a couple thousand feet. Don’t know what the FAA regs are, but I’ll bet you might even feel droplets of kerosene on occasion. I get more toxic stuff on my hands in my garage than that, and just wash it off.
But back to those chemtrails. What are they? What’s in them? Is this UFO territory or is it a real threat?

Calling it ignorance is a bit much, considering what one knows for a fact and what one can prove, all becomes real sketchy when he is called to answer all those questions.
The psyche is complex. Not saying you have some mental disease, but before you go and write off everyone else as being ignorant, how about doing more educating, than relying on something a liar says?
We are all ignorant to some degree, until we seek and find that truth.
