Satire: Parody As a Weapon Part CVIX

…and the beat goes on…

Last week, in Part CVIII Side B, there was an examination of a longest day in the life and viewpoint of the modern press. This week we will look at the viewpoints of one of the most odious members of Congress, whose repellent words reveal the hate in her heart for the US and its allies, and her adherence to those who wish us harm.

This week, the current Congress showed that despite its many shortcomings, it was able to hold one rogue member accountable for her despicable actions. Rashida Tlaib, currently the representative of Michigan’s 12th Congressional District, was censured for her false accusations of blaming Israel for a hospital bombing carried out by Hamas as well as her use of a chant calling for the complete elimination of Israel and its people.

Rashida Tlaib was born in Michigan during the year of our nation’s bicentennial celebration. Tlaib’s father was from East Jerusalem, where a quarter of a century after her birth, their former neighbors responded with joy and ululation when Al Qaeda terrorists crashed passenger aircraft into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

Back in the USA, Tlaib also became associated with anti-American causes as she grew to adulthood, though her behavior didn’t necessarily reflect this. She set a sterling example for Detroit motherhood following her election to Congress in 2018 when she gave a public speech bragging how she told her 13 year old son with regard to then-President Trump that she was going to Washington, D.C. to “impeach the mother-f_ker”. That campaign, of course, was funded by the same folks who fund Hamas.

Tlaib cried on the floor of the House of Representatives as her colleagues debated her fate, and her fellow “squad” members behaved as if a five alarm fire was in progress (though, Jamaal Bowman felt no need to trigger a fire alarm at that time).

The histrionics on display at the House would have been considered over the top even by the likes of Jacob Chansley. It did bring to mind a certain hyper-dramatic performer known to the world as “Cher”. As a young woman married to Sonny Bono, they had numerous hits on the pop charts in the 1960s. As a solo act, she had numerous hits in the 1970s, and film and musical success in the 1980s and also in the 1990s. Her 1998 hit “Believe” was a number one hit, even as it featured Cher’s voice electronically modified. I have modified the lyrics to mock the current congressional representative from Michigan’s 12th District, who is just scum (a lyric written before Nikki Haley used the term to describe Vivek Ramaswamy at Wednesday’s republican presidential debate). Somehow, I picture best performed by a Palestinian drag queen doing her best Cher impression right before being tossed by Hamas terrorists off of the top of the last tall building standing in Gaza.

Is just scum, is just scum
Is just scum, is just scum
Is just scum, is just scum
Is just scum, is just scum
Is just scum, is just scum
Is just scum, is just scum

At last we saw the Congress act
No one there could deny the fact
And she keeps up the lie
The truth she won’t ever try

Hamas lies she repeated
For their cause interceded
But after all is said and done
Rashida is their spokeman, oh

Rashida Tlaib is just scum
It’s clear in the words you hear her say
I really don’t think censure’s enough, no
Rashida Tlaib is just scum
It’s clear in the words you hear her say
I really don’t think censure’s enough, no

What are they supposed to do
Wait for her to kill a Jew
Well, she might inspire
That if there’s no cease fire

I need time to move on
I need a love to feel strong
‘Cause I’ve had time to think it through
And maybe I’m too good for you, oh

Rashida Tlaib is just scum

It’s clear in the words you hear her say
I really don’t think censure’s enough, no

Rashida Tlaib is just scum
It’s clear in the words you hear her say
I really don’t think censure’s enough, no

Well, you know that she’ll get through this
Even though she’s in the wrong
And she’s not leading anymore
She is not leading anymore
Oh, she’s not leading anymore
No, no one needs her anymore

Rashida Tlaib is just scum
It’s clear in the words you hear her say
I really don’t think censure’s enough, no
Rashida Tlaib is just scum
It’s clear in the words you hear her say
I really don’t think censure’s enough, no

Rashida Tlaib is just scum

It’s clear in the words you hear her say
I really don’t think censure’s enough, no
Rashida Tlaib is just scum
It’s clear in the words you hear her say
I really don’t think censure’s enough, no
