The Misplaced Focus on Climate Change

A Perspective from Catastrophic Event Theory

In contemporary discourse, much attention is given to climate change and its potential impacts on the future of humanity. However, some argue that this concern is misguided, suggesting that our understanding of Earth’s history and its catastrophic events should take precedence. One such voice is Randal Carlson, who posits that the Earth has experienced as many as 26 major catastrophic events due to its passage through regions of space dense with debris and asteroids. These events, he claims, have had far more profound effects on human civilizations than any changes in climate.

Randal Carlson, known for his work in sacred geometry and hidden mathematics, contends that ancient civilizations had a sophisticated understanding of astronomical phenomena. He suggests that tools like the Mayan calendar were designed not merely to mark time, but to predict cosmic collisions. Carlson’s assertion, “we are living on the remnants of destroyed civilizations,” is bolstered by numerous archaeological sites that, he argues, provide evidence of these catastrophic events. These ancient astronomers and mathematicians, according to Carlson, knew far more than they are credited with, and their knowledge was integral to the survival of their societies.

The evidence for Carlson’s claims is not found in written history but in the archaeological record. The discovery of the Burckle Crater in 2006, for instance, points to a major impact event that coincides with the historical timing of Noah’s flood. This event is one of many that Carlson believes explains why over 4,000 civilizations have flood narratives in their oral or written histories. If true, this suggests that such catastrophic events were not merely mythological but were real, historical occurrences that shaped human history.

Unlike our ancient ancestors, we either lack the capability, or don’t want to predict the next catastrophic collision with the precision they might have had. Even if we could, there remains the question of whether the government would tell us.

The prospect of an impending asteroid impact, capable of causing tsunamis far beyond any living human’s experience, is a terrifying one. Research into the Younger Dryas event, which is believed to have been caused by such an impact, indicates that the highest probability for such an event occurs around October 31st each year. This period, during Earth’s annual orbit, is akin to driving through a busy intersection without the ability to stop or slow down—a perilous journey where survival is a matter of chance. But one we trick or treat our way through each year without concern.

The NASA Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission, launched in November 2021, successfully impacted its target, the asteroid moonlet Dimorphos, in September 2022. This mission was a pioneering effort to test and demonstrate a method of asteroid deflection by kinetic impact, aiming to alter the orbit of Dimorphos around its larger companion asteroid, Didymos. The mission’s success marked a significant milestone in planetary defense, showcasing humanity’s capability to potentially prevent future asteroid impacts that could threaten Earth.

So. In light of this perspective, instead of worrying about driving an electric vehicle and eating bugs to save the planet, maybe we should follow the focus of NASA, stop worrying about manmade climate change. Maybe instead we should all pray we don’t get hammered with an Asteroid this coming Halloween or early November.
