It is now abundantly clear… illegal immigration, gun control, transgenderism, DEI. These may seem to be important issues to the Democrats. But the reality is simple: the Democrats have become a single-issue Party, and that issue is abortion.
Plain old-fashioned baby-killing… and they don’t care that you see it that way.
Over 40 years ago, when I began to cut my teeth in politics, I heard repeatedly from Leftists that the Republicans were a single-issue Party. Over and over, we heard, “you want to stop a woman’s right to choose. That’s all you care about.” Of course, euphemisms are the property of vicious propaganda using soft language, whether it’s a “right to choose,” “taking a shower,” a “special diet,” or “reeducation” to slaughter masses of the unwanted.
In Nazi Germany, when medical boards gave their evaluation as to whether or not to murder a mentally or physically handicapped person, the doctors used a “+” to sign off on their death.[1] Largely due to Hollywood mischaracterizations, when a Roman gladiator was standing over his vanquished opponent, the “thumbs up” probably was the signal given to kill him, not one turned down, though this issue is still debated.[2]
Democrats, and Democrat-wanna-bes like RINOs, want their cake and eat it too. They want to kill large segments of the population even before they’ve taken their first breath, but at the same time want to replace those lost future voters with mass migration and forcing prolife folks to push their kids into the government run brain laundry called public education so that they come out of the wash with their heads spinning with Leftist nonsense.
With abortion as their lynchpin, they spin off into other death-cults, like homosexuality and genital mutilation of children. All of these cultic practices have one thing in common… destroy the human race by curtailing the birth of people. As we look back on history, there may have been other hills that we should have died on, such as the Progressive agenda of the early 1900s or the imposition of the New Deal and social security. But “a woman’s right to choose” to kill her offspring was arguably the most important hill. For this, I largely blame the pastors, who like the German Christian Movement of the 1930s, sat silently and watched the holocaust unfold. A pastor and Bible teacher I much respected, the late Ollie Olson, once said that his generation will bear a heavy responsibility on Judgment Day for what they allowed.
Through all the years and mess of politics, when it comes down to manipulating the public, the Leftist pro-death people among the Democrats have become not only the dominant force, but arguably the only force, in that Party. Ronald Reagan was right when he said, “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left me.”
The Democrats of today are a single-issue Party… the Party of Death.
