When Values, Ethics And Morals Get Contorted By Aberrant Belief Systems And Violations Of Law, The Chaos Is Predictable
Our culture has been going through a near transcendental death spiral of our own creation. Societal norms in terms of behavior and consequences for one’s actions appear to be the most recent tell of the demise or maybe the true death rattle of what we once referred to as “Americana.”
What brings that largely nostalgic term-“Americana”-to life is shared experiences and values of an increasingly idealized representation of American history that shaped our culture. The connotation is most often small-town, rural, Mayberry RFD-like.
The 1950s represent perhaps the archetype or prototypical era best exemplifying this construct in terms of the proliferation of the automobile, television, music, ubiquitous travel, and post-World War II integration.
There was a shared culture loosely rooted in “Americana-the American Dream” and nobody was reticent or embarrassed to participate. Many had an expectation as immigrants that they came here for that culture and embraced it whole heartedly.
The idea of integrating-participating within that culture-was not controversial or oppressive or an affront to those who came willingly: and not very many have come unwillingly since the late 19th century Civil War timeframe.
The very notion that it is righteous or even a “thing” that one could not only expect-but demand-to come to America and enforce and live your “culture” your way with your language is relatively new in the scheme of things.
If not checked by common sense we will soon find ourselves in a land where we tailor our daily routines-like shopping-by locations where English is spoken.
Europe writ large is in the midst of delaminating because of this trend, where places like Germany, the “Nordic” countries, London and much of the United Kingdom have facilitated immigration numbers that are more akin to an invasion than any rationale policy.
Many countries find not only their native population being eclipsed in terms of raw numbers, but their culture increasingly taking a back seat to those of immigrants who have no incentive, compunction nor motivation to assimilate.
The birth and death rates of the “natives” trend toward a minority status in a shockingly short span of time: in their own country.
The heretofore exception to this trend (represented by non-assimilation, anti-melting pot) includes those admitted to our society that were relocated from war zones or genocidal actions overseas. Many of these-too many-occurred in our lifetime, among the largest including Rwanda (1994,) Cambodia (1971,) and Bangladesh (1971.)
Leaders often promote aggregation of these categories of immigrants for all the right reasons. There have been many instances of strife that qualify below these largest in history efforts, for instance Ukraine at the hands of the Soviet Union in the 1930s, Vietnam, Chinese Uyghurs, while many in the US begin with the settlement of the American West (e.g., indigenous peoples.) That is not my story for today.
My point taken from world history to date is that a country that lacks an identifiable or dominant culture-where immigrants are appeased through accommodation to shun assimilation, failing to get on the track to the “the melting pot” talking point, where current and subsequent generations ride the wave of entitlement that burdens their new country’s citizens-American taxpayers- is destined for the ash bin of history.
Myriad cultures and/or societies in history have committed the near lemming-like action of undermining their own best interests through unfettered immigration, generational degradation of prevailing work ethic and transferal entitlement with a corresponding lowering of traditional standards, thereby initiating the disintegration of bedrock societal tenants to their detriment.
Victor Davis Hanson has written extensively on the classical questions regarding the symptoms, issues and the cultural ramifications of such actions by leaders and the societal trends that resulted in the fall of empires, particularly the Greek and Roman empires.
These lessons from history represent a caution for all nations and cultures, although part of the problem is that some propaganda merchants are stuck on racial thought tracks where they simply make up the truth that matches their prejudice, like this example from Joyless “DIE” Reid. Nobody with any common sense or knowledge of history has proposed these cultures collapsed because of too many “white people.” Which is apparently only a culture killing malady in Reid’s head.
The Cold War seems so yesterday but as recently as the mid-1980s you could take a trip to Berlin, Germany to see and visit the “dark side,” a place where the bounty of the “people’s work” in terms of consumables was recently approximated locally by COVID era consumable staple shortages best represented by a lack of toilet paper and paper towel supplies.
Notwithstanding that Socialist and Communist policies truly convey people’s rights (tongue in cheek warning,) all who enter the store had the same right to buy anything in the store that was in stock: there just wasn’t very much available. Most often it was not a money issue. You can only buy so many Russian Nesting Dolls: you can’t eat them. In terms of staples-vittles-if you were not in line by 0600 you simply missed out-if there was anything worth buying in the first place.
I referenced the 1980s but this was specifically 1985, not exactly 100 years ago. The other notable feature was the World War II era ruins-facades of skeletal-like buildings representing sober reminders of a war now some four decades in the rear-view mirror.
You can argue that German culture-in particular-rightly suffered the brunt of the post war (both wars) retributions they richly deserved for undertaking two world wars in a scant 30-year period.
The Iron Curtain version of Germany with an isolated East Germany was the nearest approximation to an artificial schizophrenic society akin to the DMZ separated Koreas. Most never thought they would see the reunification of Germany in our lifetimes. I personally thought Korea would reunify before Germany since it is difficult to imagine a people so sheeple-like they will continue to support tin-pot dictators.
What the Germans have undertaken in recent decades vis-à-vis seemingly unchecked immigration policy and burdensome Socialism is the nearest thing to a Europe brand of cultural seppuku imaginable. The very thought of immigrants tossing trash out of their apartment windows or bathing themselves in the iconic city fountains is unimaginable, but real.
As are the “Gehen Sie nicht” or no-go zones where Germans are not welcome and the polizei dare not enter. Like a Boston Combat Zone on steroids without the strippers or vice or order.
Europe is under tremendous pressure from ignorant immigration policies that have become cultural poison: and the people have noticed.
Many believe we are nowhere near such a fate in our current time. The facts belie such naïve talk from almost any viewpoint one cares to examine.
Just how quickly a town/city, county, or state cultural baseline can change can be viewed today in many US cities and was the point of this article talking about the conspiracy theory, “mythical” replacement theory.
From the piece: This video is instructive because it gives a timeline on how the city of London, England has changed over the years, going from about 92% white in early 1970s to 36% in 2021. Also, with the leading tool of crimes being the knife, gang rape and the automobile. But this could just be the natural order of culture, births, policy and stuff, right (of course, and there is no place like home, no place like home…)
Reviewing border policy over the last four years reveals that America had inflicted upon her-courtesy of the Biden Administration-the same foolish and ignorant immigration policy that has transformed many areas in Europe back to the stone age as absolute third world pockets of lawless culture.
Where was the outcry while this was ongoing? The lawsuits, the injunctions. Our government was flying illegal aliens in with none of the restrictions, limitations, or burdensome inspection regimes for travel that US citizens routinely undergo: some 500K.
Our elected officials conspired to pervert the conventions and standing immigration policy to inflict what amounts to an illegal alien “Welcome to America” program on the backs of American taxpayers that waivers all immigration rules that most of our families had to abide by in order to qualify for citizenship.
Passing the bill to taxpayers to fund and shepherd illegal aliens entering our country, bypassing all norms, rules, safeguards and conventions. Turning an operation funded to secure the border into an administrative processing effort to expedite the flow of illegals into the US. Enriching Mexican Cartels in the process who have been empowered by trafficking profiteering in humans and drugs every step of the way. Exacerbating the scourge of human trafficking and the flow of drugs into the US fostering a trend that has seen fentanyl drug overdose deaths eclipse 100K Americans per year.
The Biden administration violated US immigration policy, making up new rules and violating standing laws and regulations from congress. Failed to report on the intent and total cost of programs, ignored applicable policy such as airline regulations and travel policy, waivered vaccine safeguards, immigrant requirements dictating self-support and sufficiency plans intended to protect and keep the American taxpayer off the hook from the burden of funding immigrants/illegal aliens, with blatant disregard for the laws governing immigration.
And lied to congress and the American people about it in sham testimony about “our secure border.” Secure only in the sense that the US government was facilitating the transport of illegals into our country-in many cases-every step of the way.
Insanity-Bizarro World-like activity that was being cheered on by the entirety of the LSMBTGA carrying water for these foolish and insane actions.
Congress budget calculations estimate that $150B was spent on illegals in 2023, although total costs have been estimated to be as high as $400B. Human trafficking and drug smuggling have been out of control, feeding an epidemic of fentanyl deaths.
Cartels controlled the border and made record revenues over the past four years trafficking in humans and drugs. Exacerbating border violence, disrupting Mexico’s political landscape and funding upgrades in the Cartel’s capability in every aspect of their business: capital for bribes, payroll, transport, weaponry, surveillance.
Why would our government allow-do this? Inflicting all these costs on communities in America where these illegals were settled, money that would have been much better served if these taxpayer dollars-$150B to as much as $400B, nearly a billion dollars per congressional district-were spent on aspects of American life that people prioritize.
Like our children’s education to catch up from the government and teacher’s union supported disaster of COVID policy that has caused perennial underperformance for entire segments of our education system to underperform in trends that will be difficult to overcome.
Or tackling the drug overdose problem that has been exacerbated by unfettered trafficking at our northern and southern borders. What type of strides could be made to turn this trend around with the infusion of billions of dollars that have been frittered away on illegals who are no value added and a total drain on our tax dollars?
How about our own homeless, or doing something about the continuing problem of veteran suicides, or maybe an effort to help restore businesses that went bankrupt through no fault of their own because of idjiotic COVID policy, reconstitute and recover?
Back to the question of why our elected officials and the entirety of the LSMBTGA would champion such a deleterious effort undermining our country. There is somewhat of a vicious cycle ongoing in many states in the Union (it is still a Union.)
States like California opt for “Sanctuary Status.” In real terms this means incurring some nearly $50B in costs-and growing-to accommodate the myriad costs associated with the burden of illegal aliens who have none of the mandated support structure called for in order to qualify for immigrant access to the US system.
Medical, education, housing, transportation, police, fire, court system, you name it, the “system” is stressed at every level and in every area by the burdensome impact of illegal alien numbers. Taxes must be raised across the board to fund these bills-unless a “friendly congress” underwrites these costs and transfers them to the American taxpayer writ large.
Businesses and taxpayers directly bear the brunt of and the burden of cost. Both vote with their feet as these policies become so burdensome they adversely affect the bottom-line of business and individuals alike, whose only recourse is to move elsewhere. Something akin to a max exodus takes place.
It is sobering to consider that the number of “infiltrators” required to change the dynamics of a congressional district is likely much smaller than you might believe. Overall registered voter turnout is particularly low on off year or non-presidential election years.
Voter turnout for recently conducted congressional district elections span from 90K to 300K voters. Below is a representative sample of the lowest turnout from 2022 with win percentage.
These data are ripe for analysis to ascertain the ramifications from a campaign strategy standpoint. To the point of my article, California 22 is ripe for mischief as the republican victor won by 3% with a turnout of a mere 102K voters against an average for all 435 house congressional districts of some 249K voters.
How hard would it be to flow some illegal aliens into such a district to overcome a 3% margin of victory? And-yes, I know, these illegals can’t vote.
Nowhere have these insane, America last sanctuary policies changed the landscape-the culture-of a state more than Colorado in this century, an insane, near clown posse shell of the state where we served in the military during the 1970s.
Since our arrival in 2017 it has become unrecognizable and unrelatable in the most populous cities, ever so much moreso since the looney democrats took over via voting shenanigans in 2018, continuing to present.
Austin, Texas was heading this way as we departed Texas in 1982: it has gone and never come back, a little California society right there in the heart of Texas. Arizona mega cities Tucson and Phoenix were in the throes of stupidity when we returned from Germany in 1987. Who knew the politics and leftist hatred of Columbus was an actual thing, while the collusion of the legislature and a departing governor over a Martin Luther King holiday was going to result in the impeachment of a duly elected governor.
We’ve seen Virginia turn into a muddy political mess between 1997 and 2017, with the weight of the state and feds going after governor Robert McDonnell, an aspiring and rising republican. He was chased out of office, smeared, found guilty of crimes that the Supreme Court would eventually throw out in an increasingly rare unanimous decision. Ruling that the actions of the governor may have been edgy and perhaps tawdry, but they were political acts that every elected official partakes in and would open up every office holder to what would amount to frivolous lawsuits.
None of that was much solace to the by then ruined ex-governor. This is how Virginia gained a novice, neophyte, “bag man” for HRC as governor, Terri McAuliffe.
These seemingly minor and incremental degradations of culture, sanity and common-sense start slow and gradually, and the next thing you know you are Germany with Gehen Sie Nicht zones.
Then there is Colorado, past-the 1970s-to present: More on Colorado insanity in my next. If you are not paying attention, Denver-like zaniness is coming to a city near you.
We seem to have seen more than our share of this culture insanity in our travels.
