The title of this piece is a bold statement, and the SAVE act is proof that it’s true.
The SAVE act would reduce election fraud by requiring verification of voter eligibility. It is perhaps the most broadly supported piece of legislation in recent history. Over 80 percent of Americans favor it. And yet, Congress can’t find the wherewithal to pass it. That is not how our representative republic is supposed to work.
We elect members of Congress to represent our interests in legislative matters. They exist to serve us – debating alternatives and implementing legislation which best serves our interests. If they fail in that duty, they are intended to face the wrath of the voters.
So, why don’t our elected “public servants” seem to fear the consequences of resisting a measure with overwhelming voter support? We could debate the causes of their dereliction: gerrymandering, election tampering, and even propaganda. But we can no longer debate the effect. Elections are losing influence, and we are losing self-governance, because our elected officials no long feel accountable to us.
We are unquestionably losing our ability to self-govern. But we have not lost our power – at least not yet. It is a long arduous path back to a healthy government of the people, by the people, and for the people. But we can reign in our federal government, by working through the states to call and Article V convention to impose Constitutional accountability.
Unfortunately, there are those who oppose the use of that Constitutional power, and hope to discredit it before it can be proven.
The globalists oppose an Article V convention because it might work. America’s embrace of personal freedom is a roadblock to one-world governance. They don’t want accountability imposed on the federal government. They want the federal government to fail.
The political parties don’t favor an Article V convention, because they are in the business of elections – more specifically the business of collecting money to influence elections. Anything that imposes the will of “we the people” on the federal government, by means other than elections, is a threat to their influence.
There are even an alarming number of conservative advocacy groups opposed to an Article V convention (i.e. John Birch Society). That’s because they’re not in the business of solving America’s problems, they’re in the business of profiting off them. They keep the public alarmed about the state of the country to collect donations, which go towards more alarmism rather than solutions.
Our self-governance is under attack. The states lost their say in legislation when they ratified the 17th Amendment. We lost control of our politicians when our elections were compromised. And we will lose our last peaceful means to impose our will on the federal government, when our states are convinced to turn their back on their Article V power. Use your power. Call your state legislators and advise them not to give up their Article V authority.
