An old fable finds a frog in a pot of water heating on a fire. The frog becomes complacent as the water warms and before he realizes – he’s cooked. Europe was in a “pot” as Nazism warmed in the 1930s. When Hitler invaded Poland, the EU was cooking and couldn’t get out by themselves.
Post WWII, America’s “pot” began a slow, progressive warming with our appeasement attitudes, liberal mindset and negative tariff practices. Openness of college admissions and industry employment of foreigners turned the temperature up even more. Legal aliens stole intellectual properties, techniques and secrets to develop weapons and practices they now use against us. In addition, illegal immigrants, refusing to assimilate, were overwhelming our gratuitous systems and voter control; it was extra fuel being shoved under the “pot”. Finally, our refusal to acknowledge the Muslim threat was rapidly bringing our “pot” to the boiling point.
Voters saw in Trump that he recognized the boiling point was imminent if significant measures were not instituted in trade, law enforcement, border security and military actions. Yes, Trump might get us boiled…but it was believed that staying the liberal course would surely bring our “pot” to 212 degrees Fahrenheit.
