What the Democrat-media complex seeks to bury
This is the fifth post in the ongoing weekly feature that highlights news and commentary on important geopolitical, cultural, and economic issues that the Democrat-media complex buries because they expose the hypocrisies associated with the continuing Marxist-Democrat narrative. Everything is properly sourced and linked for follow-up reading, whether from legacy media, independent sources, or social media.

CA Wants to Insure “urban forests” against climate change. As reported in the article below, “The California Department of Insurance is partnering with UC Santa Cruz Center for Coastal Climate Resilience to explore how insurance policies could protect “green infrastructure.” And that means a pilot project on studying how insurance companies still doing business in the state to insure forests against “storms, extreme heat, drought and pests.” Insure forests? How ridiculous is that? This whole notion is tied to the United Nations Environment Program with the idea to encourage insurers to write policies to insure the natural environment against the anticipated effects of climate change. Globalists at work to the detriment of average people once again! No wonder California homeowners are finding it difficult to find homeowners insurance these days! DSA Explorer: Mapping the Far-Left Network. Jennica Pound (@DataRepublican) is a national treasure and a GREAT data analyst! She post the DSA Explorer tool this week at datarepublican.com; it is an interactive network graph of about 512 organizations, people, projects, and concepts linked by 1,059 ties, built to let users start at the Democratic Socialists of America and click through a larger “anti-imperialist solidarity” web. Nodes are color-coded by ideological current (including democratic socialist, Marxist-Leninist, Islamist/resistance-axis, national-liberation, Black-liberation/Pan-African, and ruling party-state), shaped by type, and grouped in dashed country boxes that mark patron or host relationships rather than nationality; solid lines are treated as confirmed ties and dashed lines as inferred. Users can isolate a current, fly to a country cluster, walk one node’s connections at a time, hide inferred edges, re-layout the map, and export a PNG. The Democrat-media complex will NEVER publicize this tool because it exposes exactly what DSA is all about (DSA being a subset of the Democrat Party these days!). The Cost of Illegal Immigration. Illegal immigration costs Americans bigly in terms of taxpayer outlays, including welfare benefits such as free healthcare in many states, crime, human trafficking, etc. Putting those costs in simple terms is a challenge because the Democrat-media complex obfuscates the costs as a matter of course. Fox News host Laura Ingraham interviewed Trump advisor Stephen Miller, who put the cost of illegal immigration in terms that everyone can understand: “The cost of adjudicating even one fake asylum claim is the same cost as providing free cancer treatment to one American citizen with pediatric cancer… Every single fraud they abet, we could provide free cancer care to one American citizen.” Imagine if every American knew that simple fact (but don’t expect the legacy media to convey that important news!). Democrats Advised to Not Mention Global Warming While Campaigning. The Democrat-media complex has been all in on the Green New Deal for years. They have convinced people that the world is going to end soon if they aren’t given the keys to total control over the economy, courtesy of “green technology” mandates. Over the past decade, the Democrat Party’s official platforms and governing record have treated climate change as an urgent, scientifically established crisis driven primarily by greenhouse-gas emissions, requiring rapid decarbonization through federal investment, regulation, and international cooperation. Platforms evolved from a 2016 goal of 80 percent emissions cuts by 2050 to net-zero by 2050, a carbon-free power sector by 2035, and rejoining and strengthening the Paris Agreement; they emphasize large-scale deployment of solar, wind, and other clean technologies, electric vehicles, energy-efficiency upgrades, and resilient infrastructure while pairing those measures with “just transition” language for workers and environmental-justice priorities. The signature legislative vehicle was the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which used tax credits, grants, and loans to subsidize domestic clean-energy manufacturing and deployment—the largest climate-related spending package in U.S. history—supplemented by EPA vehicle and power-plant rules and executive actions. The 2024 platform largely restated these commitments and focused on implementing and expanding the existing law rather than introducing new statutory targets.
Then, the IPCC pulled the rug out from under the climate change nazis back in May. As reported here, “The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has acknowledged that a widely used climate scenario that has driven alarmist predictions for over a decade is unrealistic, casting doubt on numerous policies, studies, and headlines based on it.” Ooops! So much for “following the science” and the Green New Scam! And now it happens that Democrat consultants are advising Democrats campaigning for office this year to “stop emphasizing climate change because it ranks poorly among voters’ priorities.” People have grown tired of Democrats and their media allies crying “wolf.” The Democrat-media complex are hiding the reason why they’re not talking about the GND these days. Win-Win for Venezuela and the U.S. The Trump administration announced an agreement under which Venezuela’s interim authorities granted the privately held North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP) 100-year operating concessions on 17 oil fields holding roughly 65 billion barrels of proven reserves; NABEP in turn gave the U.S. Department of War’s Office of Strategic Capital a 35 percent equity stake at no cost to taxpayers, plus the right to purchase 20 percent of current and future production at cost and a right of first refusal on the remainder, while the U.S. government obtained board-veto power, a requirement that a majority of directors be U.S. citizens, and governance under U.S. law. The White House described the arrangement as securing low-cost hemispheric supply, helping refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and shifting fields previously linked to Chinese and Russian firms, with NABEP pledging up to $100 billion in investment and expected royalty and tax payments of about $200 billion to Venezuela over the first 25 years. This is an strategic geopolitical victory for the U.S., as a home for narco-terrorism in the Western Hemisphere has been converted to an oil—supplying ally. Needless to say, the Democrat-media complex are of course silent about this because the last thing they want to do is credit the Trump administration for this deal. Thousands of Food Safety Violations by Migrant Vendors in LA. Los Angeles County recorded nearly 10,000 public-health complaints about street food vendors from 2023 into early 2026, describing unsanitary conditions such as lack of handwashing or refrigeration, improper meat handling, rodents, and waste near cooking setups; an estimated 50,000 sidewalk vendors operate citywide while only a few hundred hold active city permits and far fewer hold the required county health permits for food. County inspectors paused street-level enforcement in spring 2026, citing safety concerns linked to federal immigration activity, and shifted attention toward supplier warehouses rather than individual carts. In late August 2026, after a campaign debate in which she said vendors should not set up in front of restaurants, Mayor Karen Bass (D) directed the LAPD to stop issuing criminal citations to street vendors and to dismiss citations issued in error around areas such as MacArthur Park, stating that she “stands firmly with street vendors” and that supporting them was especially important amid ICE operations; city criminal citations are distinct from county health-permit enforcement, which remains outside the mayor’s direct control. Apparently public safety is of lower priority to Mayor Bass than virtue-signaling for illegal aliens in LA. Meanwhile, the Democrat-media complex are doing their best to ignore/bury the story. DEI is Still Alive and Well at Elite Law Schools. Despite the Supreme Court’s overturning of the policy of affirmative action, as well as Trump administration executive orders and federal pressure that led hundreds of colleges to close DEI offices or drop formal diversity-statement requirements, some elite universities and internal bodies such as law-review admissions committees have continued to weigh diversity, identity, and “lived experience” in selection through personal statements and holistic review. For example, the California Law Review—the University of California, Berkeley School of Law’s flagship journal—has staffed its admissions committee with student editors who pledged to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion, including weighing “diverse life experience” against “technical editing abilities,” uplifting particular identity groups, and integrating “anti-racist sentiment” into selection. The selection process allows race and related identity factors to carry as much or more weight than “seemingly objective” criteria while avoiding an explicit racial quota after affirmative-action bans. As proponents of DEI (i.e., racist practices), the Democrat-media complex have failed to investigate or report on this continuing practice in major U.S. colleges and universities. Antifa’s Italian Network Infrastructure Lifeline Cut. Last week, the State Department designated Italy’s Autistici/Inventati (A/I) collective a specially designated global terrorist and Treasury sanctioned it, freezing any A/I property under U.S. jurisdiction and barring U.S. persons from dealing with it. The A/I Collective provided digital infrastructure used by far-left militants, including U.S.-linked Antifa groups such as Portland’s Rose City Antifa and Jane’s Revenge. Officials said A/I provided hosting, encrypted mail, and the Noblogs platform for organizing, target lists, and communiqués, and that the same stack had also served designated foreign terrorist organizations. The Democrat-media complex have been mum about Antifa for years because they are the Democrats’ brownshirts. The U.S. Manufacturing Boom. The impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill is being felt but goes virtually unreported by the Democrat-media complex because the Trump administration CANNOT RECEIVE CREDIT for good news. This week, it was reported that U.S. factory job openings rose in July 2026 to 580,000, the highest level since January 2023, up from 501,000 in June and 428,000 a year earlier, with durable-goods vacancies climbing to 429,000; the article ties the surge to stronger demand, citing a 1.1 percent rise in durable-goods orders and recent Federal Reserve regional reports of manufacturing growth. Hiring in manufacturing nonetheless slipped to 288,000 from June’s 330,000 even as openings rose, which the piece attributes in part to a tighter labor supply from slower labor-force growth, reduced unauthorized immigration, and retiring baby boomers. Broader JOLTS data showed total openings at 7.3 million and hiring at 5.05 million, with the unemployment rate at 4.1 percent, low layoffs, and quits little changed at 3.1 million. Democrats Vote Against Condemning Socialism. This week, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 220–192 vote to condemn “socialism in all its forms” and endorse the SAVE Act’s citizenship-proof voter-registration rule. The Democrat-media complex know that this gives Republicans a simple midterm attack line: 192 Democrats, including Hakeem Jeffries and the rest of House Democratic leadership, voted no, which is proof the Democrat Party is beholden to its socialist wing after DSA-backed candidates beat establishment Democrats in primaries. Eight Democrats crossed over to vote yes, including several from competitive districts (for obvious political reasons). The last thing Democrats want is more focus on the socialist (communist) policy statements of DSA candidates going into November. Read more about the issue here:

More Dissension in Democrat Ranks. DSA members of the House are feeling their oats in challenging their House leadership, and the main Party and their sycophants in the media are doing their best to bury these news internal Party problems. For example, eight members broke with Democrat House leadership to vote for a Republican resolution condemning socialism and backing the SAVE Act while Hakeem Jeffries and the rest of the caucus leadership voted no. Jared Golden (D-ME) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) supplied the two votes that passed the floor rule after Jeffries said they had not notified him. A separate flare-up came when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she was concerned about Jeffries’ private New York meeting with Jared Kushner on affordability, housing, and immigration. There is real tension associated with progressive unease that the minority leader, a potential speaker if Democrats win the House, was discussing common ground with a Trump adviser without the caucus’s knowledge. Let’s Ban Sharia Law! Lastly, Rep. Keith Self (R-TX), plans to introduce a nonbinding House resolution “Denouncing Sharia Law in the United States” and push for a floor vote before the November midterms so every member is on the record that the Constitution is the sole source of U.S. law and that Sharia or any competing legal framework should not supersede it. Co-sponsors including Eli Crane have framed the vote as a test of whether lawmakers will confront what they call a rising threat to constitutional liberties, citing Islamic complexes in Texas and Europe’s experience, which would give Republicans a campaign contrast if Democrats oppose or duck the measure. While the roll call is designed less to change law than to generate ads and primary pressure in a midterm cycle already focused on cultural and security issues, this is a big political issue that the Democrat-media want to bury in the worst way.
