Political Parody As a Weapon Part XCIII

PoliticalParody As a Weapon Part XCIII; But, Dad, I’m listenin’ to Smokey!

Last week, in Part XCII, Hunter Biden was taken to task for his fatherhood failures. This week, there will be a bit of an examination of the Biden scion’s fatherhood successes, as least as far as his dad’s name is concerned.

As the news of Hunter Biden’s plea bargain to misdemeanor tax charges and a felony diversion program for federal gun charges was released last week, evidence from the House Oversight Committee investigation into the Biden family corruption also came to light. Among the items made public was a transcription of a message sent through the What’s App direct messaging application in which Hunter Biden threatens a potential business partner with the wrath of his father, then the former vice president, unless he immediately follows Hunter’s directions for payment. In the course of his communication, Hunter related that his father was with him, awaiting a reply, and prepared to wreak vengeance in the absence of a correct and timely response.

Though the current occupant of the White House has denied involvement (and presumably being present with Hunter when the message was sent), George Washington University School of Law professor Jonathan Turley has laid out how the message more or less perfectly encapsulates the Biden family corruption scheme, which he characterizes as the Greatest of All Time. Indeed, even the democrat party has long supposedly been in awe regarding Biden’s role as an enforcer when it comes to their money laundering schemes, as can be observed by their reaction in this video when Obama announces his role essentially as sergeant of arms over the 2009 Recovery Act funding because “nobody messes with Joe”.

Of course, the propensity for Joe Biden to get let Hunter and others in the family benefit from his position is well documented. As a legendary commuter on the Washington, D.C. to Wilmington, DE train route while he was Senator Biden, his son Hunter wound up on the Board of Directors for Amtrak. While Biden and the Senate Finance Committee were drafting Bankruptcy legislation to benefit credit card-issuing banks, Hunter was hired as a consultant for MBNA, then the largest credit card issuer in the US, with its headquarters in Delaware (Biden had previously sold his house for a very favorable price to Charles Cawley, MBNA CEO). In addition, there was the position Hunter was given on the board of Ukraine’s energy firm Burisma after Biden was placed in charge of Obama Administration policy there.

The exact nature of the symbiotic relationship may be a bit difficult to unravel as to which is the parasite and which is the host, as correspondence from Hunter’s laptop as well as the House Oversight Committee findings seem to suggest the Biden family finances can be a bit tangled, if not commingled. Still, there is no doubt who the “big guy” is, and as the parent, Joe undoubtedly feels that his guidance should be followed.

Of course, Joe Biden is far from the first parent to feel entitled to offer advice to his child. Born nearly three years before the current occupant of the White House, William “Smokey” Robinson, Jr. was a singer/ songwriter/ producer who on his own and with The Miracles had numerous hits for decades on the Motown label. One of these hits was entitled “Shop Around” , and when released in 1960 it became Motown’s first million-selling record. While for Hunter, “Smokey” is more likely to describe the locations where he ingested crack cocaine, it is very likely that Biden’s former nemesis Cornpop was listening to this song on the radio as he processed his jerry curl prior to heading out to the pool at Prices Run Park, only to be taunted by the bullying lifeguard. It is a song where a mother encourages her son to be selective in settling on a mate, but I have borrowed the tune and set it to lyrics more in tune with how Hunter wielded his father’s name and being like Cornpop brandished his rusty razor in confrontations to achieve the dignity he was due.

When Hunter came of age, to his side his father came
He said, “Son, be like your uncles
And trade off your family’s name”
And then Joe said

Just because I pretend to be woke now
Pay attention to these words that I’ve spoke now
Make sure that the family’s not broke now
To get paid my name you can invoke now

My father is Joe, so don’t you mess around

Whoa yeah, so don’t you mess around

Oh, there’s some things important to know now
L L Cs are the way to go now
If the payments you don’t want to show now
Then to the family the cash will flow now

My father is Joe, so don’t you mess around

Whoa yeah, so don’t you mess around

Try to get a board position, son
Maybe Amtrak can be the first one
M B N A bank loves Biden charisma
Then to Ukraine for the board of Burisma

Before any business partner clips you
Make sure these words will pass your lips too
My father is Joe, so don’t you mess around

Don’t you sell us as a bargain, son
Say the Biden name is the very best one
To help with business we are eager
And we will never worry but a tortured Uyghur

Before you take your crack and go get high now
Make sure our name is the one they buy now
And if to stiff you is what they try now
Make sure they know that I’m the big guy now

… My father is Joe, so don’t you mess around

… Uh-huh, don’t let the suckers wander
Oh no, as their cash you will launder
Uh-huh, before you light the pressure cooker
Oh yeah, yeah, write off your hooker
Uh-huh, before you go to smoke your crack, my son
Feed the pack, my son, cash they lack, my son
Don’t turn your back, my son
